1Chlorophyll, anthocyanin, and gas exchange changes assessed by spectroradiometry in Fragaria chiloensis under salt stress显示文摘Chlorophyll and anthocyanin contents provide a valuable indicator of the status of a plant's physiology, but to be more widely utilized it needs to be assessed easily and non‐destructively. This is particularly evident in terms of assessing and exploiting germplasm for plant‐breeding programs. We report, for the first time, experiments with Fragaria chiloensis(L.)Duch. and the estimation of the effects of response to salinity stress(0, 30, and 60 mmol NaCl/L) in terms of these pigments content and gas exchange. It is shown that both pigments(which interestingly, themselves show a high correlation) give a good indication of stress response. Both pigments can be accurately predicted using spectral reflectance indices(SRI);however, the accuracy of the predictions was slightly improved using multilinear regression analysis models and genetic algorithm analysis. Specifically for chlorophyll content, unlike other species, the use of published SRI gave better indications ofstress response than Normalized Difference Vegetation Index.The effect of salt on gas exchange is only evident at the highest concentration and some SRI gave better prediction performance than the known Photochemical Reflectance Index. 3Model Identification of a Micro Air Vehicle显示文摘This paper is focused on the model identification of a Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) in straight steady flight condition. The identification is based on input-output data collected from flight tests using both frequency and time domain techniques. The vehicle is an in-house 40 cm wingspan airplane. Because of the complex coupled, multivariable and nonlinear dynamics of the aircraft, linear SISO structures for both the lateral and longitudinal models around a reference state were derived. 4Experimental demonstration of linear and spinning Janus dipoles for polarisation-and wavelength-selective near-field coupling显示文摘The electromagnetic field scattered by nano-objects contains a broad range of wavevectors and can be efficiently coupled to waveguided modes.The dominant contribution to scattering from subwavelength dielectric and plasmonic nanoparticles is determined by electric and magnetic dipolar responses.Here,we experimentally demonstrate spectral and phase selective excitation of Janus dipoles,sources with electric and magnetic dipoles oscillating out of phase,in order to control near-field interference and directional coupling to waveguides.We show that by controlling the polarisation state of the dipolar excitations and the excitation wavelength to adjust their relative contributions,directionality and coupling strength can be fully tuned.Furthermore,we introduce a novel spinning Janus dipole featuring cylindrical symmetry in the near and far field,which results in either omnidirectional coupling or noncoupling.Controlling the propagation of guided light waves via fast and robust near-field interference between polarisation components of a source is required in many applications in nanophotonics and quantum optics.Michela F.Picardi Martin Neugebauer Jorg S.Eismann Gerd Leuchs Peter Banzer Francisco J.Rodriguez-Fortuno Anatoly V.Zayats 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:4
5Could sport be part of pediatric obesity prevention and treatment? 6Accuracy of myocardial viability imaging by cardiac MRI and PET depending on left ventricular function显示文摘AIM To compare myocardial viability assessment accuracy of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging(CMR)compared to[^(18)F]-fluorodeoxyglucose(FDG)-positron emission tomography(PET)depending on left ventricular(LV)function.METHODS One-hundred-five patients with known obstructive coronary artery disease(CAD)and anticipated coronary revascularization were included in the study and examined by CMR on a 1.5T scanner.The CMR protocol consisted of cine-sequences for function analysis and late gadolinium enhancement(LGE)imaging for viability assessment in 8 mm long and contiguous short axis slices.All patients underwent PET using[^(18)F]-FDG.Myocardial scars were rated in both CMR and PET on a segmental basis by a 4-point-scale:Score 1=no LGE,normal FDG-uptake;score 2=LGE enhancement<50% of wall thickness,reduced FDG-uptake(≥50% of maximum);score 3=LGE≥50% ,reduced FDG-uptake(<50% of maximum);score 4=transmural LGE,no FDG-uptake.Segments with score 1 and 2 were categorized'viable',scores 3 and 4 were categorized as'non-viable'.Patients were divided into three groups based on LV function as determined by CMR:Ejection fraction(EF),<30% :n=45;EF:30% -50% :n=44;EF>50% :n=16).On a segmental basis,the accuracy of CMR in detecting myocardial scar was compared to PET in the total collective and in the three different patient groups.RESULTS CMR and PET data of all 105 patients were sufficient for evaluation and 5508 segments were compared in total.In all patients,CMR detected significantly more scars(score 2-4)than PET:45% vs 40% of all segments(P<0.0001).In the different LV function groups,CMR found more scar segments than PET in subjects with EF<30% (55% vs 46% ;P<0.0001)and EF 30% -50% (44% vs 40% ;P<0.005).However,CMR revealed less scars than PET in patients with EF>50% (15% vs 23% ;P<0.0001).In terms of functional improvement estimation,i.e.,expected improvement after revascularization,CMR identified'viable'segments(score 1 and 2)in 72% of segments across all groups,PET in 80% (P<0.0001).Also in all LV function subgroups,CMR judged less segments viable than PET:EF<30% ,66% vs 75% ;EF=30% -50% ,72% vs 80% ;EF>50% ,91% vs 94% .CONCLUSION CMR and PET reveal different diagnostic accuracy in myocardial viability assessment depending on LV function state.CMR,in general,is less optimistic in functional recovery prediction.Peter Hunold Heinz Jakob Raimund Erbel Jorg Barkhausen Christina Heilmaier 2018World Journal of Cardiology2018,10,9:3
7cytoplasmic domain of tissue factor promotes liver fibrosis in mice显示文摘AIM To evaluate the role of tissue factor(TF) and protease activated receptor(PAR)-2 in liver fibrosis.METHODS Using CCl4 administration for eight weeks, we induced hepatic fibrosis in wild-type C57BL/6 mice and in mice with deletion of the cytoplasmic signalling domain of TF(TF§CT/§CT), deletion of PAR-2(PAR-2-/-) and combined deletion of TF signalling domain and PAR-2(TF§CT/§CT/PAR-2-/-). Hepatic fibrosis area was assessed by quantitative imaging of picrosirius red staining. Hepatic collagen content was assessed by hydroxyproline levels. Hepatic stellate cells(αSMA positive) and hepatic macrophages(CD68 positive) were identified by immunohistochemistry. Hepatic gene expression was determined by PCR and liver TGFβ1 content by ELISA.RESULTS CCl4 treated mice with deletion of the PAR-2 gene(PAR-2-/-) and the cytoplasmic domain of TF(TF§CT/§CT) developed significantly less hepatic fibrosis, characterised by reduced liver fibrosis area and hydroxyproline content, compared to control wildtype mice treated with CCl4. The observed reduction in histological fibrosis was accompanied by a significant decrease in the hepatic content of TGFβ, the prototypic fibrogenic cytokine, as well as fewer activated hepatic stellate cells and hepatic macrophages. Deletion of the TF cytoplasmic signalling domain reduced hepatic fibrosis to levels similar to thoseobserved in mice lacking PAR-2 signalling but combined deletion provided no added protection against fibrosis indicating a lack of mutual modulating effects that have been observed in other contexts such as angiogenic responses.CONCLUSION Tissue factor cytoplasmic domain is involved in TF-PAR-2 signalling initiating hepatic fibrosis and is a potential therapeutic target, as its deletion would not impact coagulation.Virginia Knight Dinushka Lourensz Jorge Tchongue Jeanne Correia Peter Tipping William Sievert 2017World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,31:3

12Significance of an additional unenhanced scan in computed tomography angiography of patients with suspected acute aortic syndrome显示文摘AIM To assess potential benefits of an additional unenhanced acquisition in computed tomography angiography(CTA) in patients with suspected acute aortic syndrome(AAS).METHODS A total of 103 aortic CTA(non-electrocardiography-gated, 128 slices) performed due to suspected AAS were retrospectively evaluated for acute aortic dissection(AAD), intramural hematoma(IMH), or penetrating aortic ulcer(PAU). Spiral CTA protocol consisted of an unenhanced acquisition and an arterial phase. If AAS was detected, a venous phase(delay, 90 s) was added. Images were evaluated for the presence and extent of AAD, IMH, PAU, and related complications. The diagnostic benefit of the unenhanced acquisition was evaluated concerning detection of IMH.RESULTS Fifty-six(30% women; mean age, 67 years; median, 68 years) of the screened individuals had AAD or IMH. A triphasic CT scan was conducted in 76.8%(n =43). 56% of the detected AAD were classified as Stanford type A, 44% as Stanford type B. 53.8% of the detected IMH were classified as Stanford type A, 46.2% as Stanford type B. There was no significant difference in the involvement of the ascending aorta between AAD and IMH(P = 1.0) or in the average age between AAD and IMH(P = 0.548), between Stanford type A and Stanford type B in general(P = 0.650) and between Stanford type A and Stanford type B within the entities of AAD and IMH(AAD: P = 0.785; IMH: P = 0.146). Only the unenhanced acquisitions showed a significant density difference between the adjacent lumen and the IMH(P = 0.035). Subadventitial hematoma involving the pulmonary trunk was present in 5 patients(16%) with Stanford A AAD. The difference between the median radiation exposure of a triphasic(2737 mGy*cm) compared to a biphasic CT scan(2135 mGy*cm) was not significant(P = 0.135).CONCLUSION IMH is a common and difficult to detect entity of AAS. 13Highlights of the 2nd International Symposium on Tribbles and Diseases: tribbles tremble in therapeutics for immunity, metabolism, fundamental cell biology and cancer显示文摘The Tribbles(TRIB) family of pseudokinase proteins has been shown to play key roles in cell cycle, metabolic diseases, chronic inflammatory disease, and cancer development. A better understanding of the mechanisms of TRIB pseudokinases could provide new insights for disease development and help promote TRIB proteins as novel therapeutic targets for drug discovery. At the 2 nd International Symposium on Tribbles and Diseases held on May 7–9, 2018 in Beijing, China, a group of leading Tribbles scientists reported their findings and ongoing studies about the effects of the different TRIB proteins in the areas of immunity, metabolism, fundamental cell biology and cancer. Here, we summarize important and insightful overviews from 4 keynote lectures, 13 plenary lectures and 8 short talks that took place during this meeting. 15Efficient offline production of freestanding thin plastic foils for laser-driven ion sources显示文摘Modern chirped pulse amplification laser systems with continuously improving controllability and increasing power are about to reach intensities of up to 10^(22) W cm^(-2) and have proven their potential to accelerate ions out of plasma to several tens percent of the speed of light. For enabling application, one important step is to increase the repetition rate at which ion bunches are at the disposal. In particular, techniques used so far for thin foil target production can require several days of preparing reasonable amounts for a single campaign. In this paper we describe the reasonably droplet method which we have tested and improved so that the emerging foils with thicknesses of a few nanometres up to micrometre can be used as targets for laser ion acceleration. 20An automated, 0.5 Hz nano-foil target positioning system for intense laser plasma experiments显示文摘We report on a target system supporting automated positioning of nano-targets with a precision resolution of 4 μm in three dimensions. It relies on a confocal distance sensor and a microscope. The system has been commissioned to position nanometer targets with 1 Hz repetition rate. Integrating our prototype into the table-top ATLAS 300 TW-laser system at the Laboratory for Extreme Photonics in Garching, we demonstrate the operation of a 0.5 Hz laser-driven proton source with a shot-to-shot variation of the maximum energy about 27% for a level of confidence of 0.95.
