2The Relationship between Glucose Excursion and Cognitive Function in Aged Type 2 Diabetes Patients显示文摘Objective Evidence suggests that type 2 diabetes (T2DM) is associated with an increased risk of dementia and that glucose variability is an independent risk factor for diabetic complications.This study investigated the relationship between glucose excursion and cognitive function in aged T2DM patients.Methods A total of 248 aged T2DM patients wore a continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) for 3 days in order to evaluate glucose excursion,including mean amplitude of glycemic excursions (MAGE) and mean of daily difference (MODD).All subjects were evaluated with a number of accepted cognitive function tests,including themini‐mental status examination (MMSE).The relationship between MAGE and MODD and performance on these cognitive tests was assessed.Results The MAGE and MMSE score were negatively correlated,likewise with the correlation between MODD and MMSE.Liner multivariate regression analysis showed that MAGE and MODD were also negatively related to MMSE independent of age,sex,glycemic control,hypertension,smoking,or coronary heart disease history.Conclusion Glucose excursion is related to cognitive function in aged T2DM patients.Elevated glucose excursion decreased the MMSE score,which reflects general cognitive function.Thus,therapy aimed at controlling glucose excursion may be beneficial for maintaining cognitive function in aged T2DM patients.ZHONG Yuan ZHANG Xiao Yan MIAO Ya ZHU Jie Hua YAN Hong WANG Bei Yun JIN Jun HU Ting Jun JIA Wei Ping 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1:34

5Effect and Safety of Guanxinning Tablet(冠心宁片) for Stable Angina Pectoris Patients with Xin(Heart)-Blood Stagnation Syndrome:A Randomized,Multicenter,Placebo-Controlled Trial显示文摘Objective: To investigate the effect and safety of Guanxinning Tablet(冠心宁片, GXN) for the treatment of stable angina pectoris patients with Xin(Heart)-blood stagnation syndrome(XBSS). Methods: One hundred and sixty stable angina pectoris patients with XBSS were randomly assigned to receive GXN(80 cases) or placebo(80 cases, Guanxinning simulation tablets, mainly composed of lactose), 4 tablets(0.38 g/tablet), thrice daily for 12 weeks. After treatment, an exercise stress test(treadmill protocol), Chinese medicine(CM) syndrome score, electrocardiogram(ECG), and nitroglycerin withdrawal rate were evaluated and compared in the patients between the two groups. Meanwhile, adverse events(AEs) were evaluated during the whole clinical trial. Results: Compared with the control group, the time extension of exercise duration in the GXN group increased 29.28±17.67 s after treatment(P>0.05);moreover, the change of exercise duration in the GXN group increased 63.10±96.96 s in subgroup analysis(P<0.05). The effective rates of angina pectoris, CM syndrome and ECG as well as nitroglycerin withdrawal rate were 81.33%, 90.67%, 45.76%, and 70.73%, respectively in the GXN group, which were all significantly higher than those in the control group(40.58%, 75.36%, 26.92%, 28.21%, respectively, P<0.05). 8The Intervention Effect of Rosiglitozone in Ovarian Fibrosis of PCOS Rats显示文摘Objective To explore the Intervention effect of Rosiglitozone in ovarian fibrosis of PCOS rats.Methods 60 female SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:control group,model group and treatment group.The model and treatment groups were established by subcutaneous injection of DHEA,while the treatment group was given RGZ.The serum hormone values,pathohistology of ovarian structure of rats,ovarian ultrastructure and the expressions of TGF-β 1 and CTGF were detected.Results The PCOS model was established successfully.The expression intensity of TGF-β 1 and CTGF in Oocytes of the PCOS groups was 9.545±2.954 and 9.665±2.400,respectively and was significantly higher than that of the control group 6.636±2.264 and 7.036±2.133;after treatment with rosiglitazone,the expression was significantly decreased 6.980±2.421 and 6.642±2.721 as compared with that of the model group (P<0.05,P<0.001).The values in serum of the PCOS groups were 3.749±2.054 and 0.265±0.129,and 1.914±1.801 and 0.096±0.088 in the control group which had statistically significant difference (P<0.05,P<0.001).After treatment with rosiglitazone,the values were 2.3100±1.825 and 0.112±0.187 and were significantly different with those of the model group (P<0.05,P<0.001).Conclusion TGF-β 1 and CTGF play an important role in the development of ovary fibrosis in PCOS.However,RGZ may postpone the development of fibrosis by decreasing the levels of TGF-β 1 and CTGF.MIAO Zhu Lin GUO Liang WANG Yong Xia CUI Rong YANG Ning HUANG Mi Qiong QIN Wei Bing CHEN Jin LI Hong Mei WANG Zi Neng WEI Xiang Cai 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1:14

11Neuroprotective effects of autophagy inhibition on hippocampal glutamate receptor subunits after hypoxia-ischemia-induced brain damage in newborn rats显示文摘Autophagy has been suggested to participate in the pathology of hypoxic-ischemic brain damage(HIBD).However,its regulatory role in HIBD remains unclear and was thus examined here using a rat model.To induce HIBD,the left common carotid artery was ligated in neonatal rats,and the rats were subjected to hypoxia for 2 hours.Some of these rats were intraperitoneally pretreated with the autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine(10 m M in 10 μL) or the autophagy stimulator rapamycin(1 g/kg) 1 hour before artery ligation.Our findings demonstrated that hypoxia-ischemia-induced hippocampal injury in neonatal rats was accompanied by increased expression levels of the autophagy-related proteins light chain 3 and Beclin-1 as well as of the AMPA receptor subunit GluR 1,but by reduced expression of GluR 2.Pretreatment with the autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine blocked hypoxia-ischemia-induced hippocampal injury,whereas pretreatment with the autophagy stimulator rapamycin significantly augmented hippocampal injury.Additionally,3-methyladenine pretreatment blocked the hypoxia-ischemia-induced upregulation of Glu R1 and downregulation of GluR2 in the hippocampus.By contrast,rapamycin further elevated hippocampal Glu R1 levels and exacerbated decreased GluR2 expression levels in neonates with HIBD.Our results indicate that autophagy inhibition favors the prevention of HIBD in neonatal rats,at least in part,through normalizing Glu R1 and GluR2 expression.Li-xiao Xu Xiao-juan Tang Yuan-yuan Yang Mei Li Mei-fang Jin Po Miao Xin Ding Ying Wang Yan-hong Li Bin Sun Xing Feng 2017Neural Regeneration Research2017,12,3:12

13Inhalation treatment of primary lung cancer using liposomal curcumin dry powder inhalers显示文摘Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Traditional chemotherapy causes serious toxicity due to the wide bodily distribution of these drugs. Curcumin is a potential anticancer agent but its low water solubility, poor bioavailability and rapid metabolism significantly limits clinical applications. Here we developed a liposomal curcumin dry powder inhaler(LCD) for inhalation treatment of primary lung cancer. LCDs were obtained from curcumin liposomes after freeze-drying. The LCDs had a mass mean aerodynamic diameter of 5.81 μm and a fine particle fraction of 46.71%, suitable for pulmonary delivery. The uptake of curcumin liposomes by human lung cancer A549 cells was markedly greater and faster than that of free curcumin. The high cytotoxicity on A549 cells and the low cytotoxicity of curcumin liposomes on normal human bronchial BEAS-2B epithelial cells yielded a high selection index partly due to increased cell apoptosis. Curcumin powders, LCDs and gemcitabine were directly sprayed into the lungs of rats with lung cancer through the trachea. LCDs showed higher anticancer effects than the other two medications with regard to pathology and the expression of many cancer-related markers including VEGF, malondialdehyde, TNF-α, caspase-3 and BCL-2. 14Structure Styles of Mesozoic-Cenozoic U-bearing Rock Series in Northern China显示文摘In Northern China,sandstone-type uranium(U) deposits are mostly developed in MesozoicCenozoic basins. These U deposits are usually hosted in unvarying horizons within the basins and exhibit typical U-forming sedimentary associations,which is referred to as U-bearing rock series. This study describes the structural features of U-bearing rock series within the main Mesozoic-Cenozoic Uproducing continental basins in Kazakhstan,Uzbekistan,and Russia in the western segment of the Central Asian Metallogenic Belt(CAMB),and Northern China in the eastern segment of the CAMB. We analyze the basic structural conditions and sedimentary environments of U-bearing rock series in Northern China and classify their structural styles in typical basins into river valley,basin margin,and intrabasin uplift margin types. The intrabasin uplift margin structural style proposed in this study can be used to indicate directions for the exploration of sandstone-type U deposits hosted in the center of a basin. 17Hyperinsulinemia,Insulin Resistance and Cognitive Decline in Older Cohort显示文摘Objective Type 2 diabetes has been recently recognized as an important risk factor for cognitive decline of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD).But the roles of hyperinsulinemia (HI) and insulin resistance (IR) in the development of AD are still controversial.This study was designed to evaluate whether HI or IR influenced the cognitive functions of older cohort.Methods The cognitive functions of 328 consecutive elderly patients were evaluated with a battery of cognitive rating scales.Their fasting blood glucose (FBG) and fasting insulin (FINS) were analyzed and IR was calculated with modified‐Homa.The cognitive scores in different groups and the correlation of cognitive functions with HI or IR were analyzed.Results In our study,there were 180 participants with HI and 148 without HI,and 192 with IR and 136 without IR.The participants with HI showed worse cognitive functions than those without HI in MMSE,MOCA,CDR,orientation,delayed memory,and attention/calculation domains.Similarly,the elderly with IR had lower cognitive scores than those without IR in MMSE,MOCA,CDR,GDS,orientation,delayed memory,and attention/calculation domains.The insulin levels and Homa IR had negative correlation with the scores of MMSE and delayed memory,not only in the model 1 adjusted for FBG and diabetes history,but also in the model 2 adjusted for all nine demographic characteristics.Conclusion HI and IR are important risk factors for cognitive decline of the elderly,especially for the dysfunctions in delayed memory domains.ZHONG Yuan MIAO Ya JIA Wei Ping YAN Hong WANG Bei Yun JIN Jun 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1:11

20Outcomes of CAG Regimen for Refractory Biphenotypic Acute Leukemia Patients显示文摘Objective To evaluated the efficiency of low-dose cytosine arabinoside plus aclarubicin with concurrent administration of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (CAG) regimen for refractory biphenotypic acute leukemia (BAL). Methods We treated 5 refractory BAL patients by CAG regimen (10 mg·m-2 cytosine arabinoside subcutaneously administrated every 12 hours, day 1-14; 5-7 mg·m-2 aclarubicin intravenously administrated daily, day 1-8; and concurrently used 200μg·m-2·d-1 granulocyte colony-stimulating factor subcutaneously) from November 2002 to April 2007. The efficacy of the regimen was evaluated by response rate, and the side effects were also measured. Results The complete remission rate was 80%, median duration of absolute neutrophil count< 5.0×108/L and platelet count<2.0×1010/L was day 13 and day 1, respectively; and the infection rate was low (Ⅲ-Ⅳ infection rate, 20.00%).
