| 2 | Electrochemical exfoliation of two-dimensional layered black phosphorus and applications显示文摘With the discovery of graphene, black phosphorus(BP)has been rediscovered as a two-dimensional(2 D)layered material.Since its first preparation in 2014,2 D BP has elicited immense interest, and has exhibited excellent properties, such as distinct pleated structures in layers, adjustable direct bandgap, high carrier mobility, moderate on/off ratio, large specific surface area, and various interesting in-layer anisotropies. However, the realization of these excellent properties depends on the preparation of highquality 2 D BP sheets.Electrochemical exfoliation methods are typically performed under mild conditions, thus, these methods are convenient, controllable, and can produce high-quality 2 D BP sheets. This review summarizes research progress in BP sheets preparation through anodic, cathodic, and electrolyte exfoliation in recent years.Different exfoliating methods affect the quality of 2 D BP sheets. Moreover, possible exfoliating mechanisms and the potential applications of different exfoliating methods are summarized and discussed in detail.Lastly, the shortcomings of existing research on electrochemical exfoliation are presented, and suggestions and prospects for future research on the electrochemical exfoliation of 2 D BP are proposed. | Le Li Dan Zhang Jianping Deng Yuchun Gou Junfei Fang | 2020 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,10: | 2 |
| 3 | Age and Body Size of the Shangcheng Stout Salamander Pachyhynobius shangchengensis(Caudata:Hynobiidae)from Southeastern China显示文摘Age and body size a re critical for understanding life history evolution and ecology. In this study, the age and body size of the Shangcheng stout salamander,Pachyhynobius shangchengensis, from a population in Anhui Province,China, were studied by skeletochronology. The mean age was 8.8±0.2(mean±SD)years in females and 9.6±0.2 in males and ranged 5-13 years for both sexes. The mean age was significantly different between sexes. The mean body size and mass were(100.21±0.91)mm and(31.76±0.73)g in females,and(105.31±1.23)mm and(37.14±1.12)g in males, respectively.Males were significantly larger and heavier than females, indicating sexual size dimorphism. There was a significant positive correlation among body size, body mass, and age, suggesting that the oldest individuals are larger and heavier. The growth rate in males was significantly higher than in females. The present study provides preliminary data on life-history traits which can be helpful for future studies of this species and other hynobiid salamanders. | Jianli XIONG Jianping GOU Yong HUANG Baowei ZHANG Hongtao REN Tao PAN | 2020 | Asian Herpetological Research2020,11,3: | 2 |

| 7 | Systematic dissection of disease resistance to southern corn rust by bulked-segregant and transcriptome analysis显示文摘Southern corn rust(SCR) is a destructive maize disease caused by Puccinia polysora Underw. To investigate the mechanism of SCR resistance in maize, a highly resistant inbred line, L119 A, and a highly susceptible line, Lx9801, were subjected to gene mapping and transcriptome analysis. Bulked-segregant analysis coupled with whole-genome sequencing revealed several quantitative trait loci(QTL) on chromosomes 1, 6, 8, and 10. A set of 25 genes, including two coiled-coil nucleotide-binding site leucine-rich repeat(CC-NBS-LRR) genes, were identified as candidate genes for a major-effect QTL on chromosome 10. To investigate the mechanism of SCR resistance in L119 A, RNA-seq of P. polysorainoculated and non-inoculated plants of L119 A and Lx9801 was performed. Unexpectedly, the number of differentially expressed genes in inoculated versus non-inoculated L119 A plants was about 10 times that of Lx9801, with only 29 common genes identified in both lines, suggesting extensive gene expression changes in the highly resistant but not in the susceptible line. Based on the transcriptome analysis, one of the CC-NBS-LRR candidate genes was confirmed to be upregulated in L119 A relative to Lx9801 independently of P. polysora inoculation. Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analyses indicated that transcription factors, as well as genes involved in defense responses and metabolic processes, were dominantly enriched, with the phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathway most specifically activated. Consistently, accumulation of phenylpropanoid-derived lignin, especially S lignin, was drastically increased in L119 A after P. polysora inoculation, but remained unchanged in Lx9801, suggesting a critical role of lignin in SCR resistance. A regulatory network of defense activation and metabolic change in SCR-resistant maize upon P. polysora infection is described. | Xiaohuan Mu Zhuangzhuang Dai Zhanyong Guo Hui Zhang Jianping Yang Xinke Gan Jiankun Li Zonghua Liu Jihua Tang Mingyue Gou | 2022 | The Crop Journal2022,10,2: | 1 |

| 10 | Geographic Variation in the Skull Morphometry of Four Populations of Batrachuperus karlschmidti(Urodela:Hynobiidae)显示文摘Geographic variation of morphology is an important topic of evolutionary biology, and research on geographic variation can provide insights on the formation, evolution, and adaptation of species and subspecies. The vertebrate skull is a developmentally and functionally complex morphological structure with multiple functions, that is susceptible to vary according to selection pressure. In this study, geographic variations in skull morphology of Batrachuperus karlschmidti from four different geographic populations(Shade,Gexi,Shangluokema, and Xinduqiao)were examined via geometric morphometrics. No significant differences were found among these populations with regard to skull size;however, significant variation was found in skull shape. The most notable shape changes are the relative sizes and positions of the frontal, maxilla, pterygoid, and vomer.Skull shape changes were not related to allometry. However, due to limitation of sample populations and size, the results of this study need to be further verified by more sample populations and individuals in the future. The results of this study contribute to our knowledge about these aspects of morphological variability in this species as well as in hynobiid salamanders. | Qiangqiang LIU Jianli XIONG Jianping GOU Xiaochan GAO | 2020 | Asian Herpetological Research2020,11,3: | 0 |
