2DESIGN AND PROPERTIES OF A FUNCTIONALLY GRADIENT CERAMIC TOOL MATERIAL显示文摘Based on the analyses of the severity of cutting process as well as the failure mechanisms of ceramic tools, a model for designing functionally gradient ceramic tool materials with symmetrical distribution is presented, by which a Al 2O 3/(W,Ti)C ceramic tool material FG 2 was developed. Multi objective optimization method was employed in designing the compositional distribution of this ceramic tool material. The results of both continuous and intermittent cutting tests are indicative of the much better cutting behavior of the functionally gradient ceramic tool FG 2 than that of the common ceramic tool SG 4.J. 3HIGH-TEMPERATURE OXIDATION OF FGH96 P/M SUPERALLOY显示文摘High temperature oxidation behaviors of FGH96 P/M superalloy have been studied in air at temperatures ranging from 600 to 1000℃. By means of isothermal oxidation testing,X-ray diffraction,SEM(scanning electron microscopy),and EDS(energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) analyses,the oxidation kinetics as well as the composition and morphology of scales were investigated. Thermodynamic calculations were used to explain the oxidation mechanism. The results showed that as the oxidation temperature increased,the oxidation rate,the scale thickness,and scale spallation increased. FGH96 P/M superalloy exhibits good oxidation resistance at temperature below 800℃. The oxidation kinetics follows an approximately parabolic rate law,and the oxide layer was mainly composed of Cr2O3,TiO2,and a little amount of NiCr2O4. 4EFFECT OF SnO_2 ADDITION ON THE SERVICE LIFE AND ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF Ti/IrO_2,+Ta_2O_5 ANODES IN PHENOLSULFONIC ACID SOLUTION显示文摘Service life of two different oxide anodes in phenolsulfonic acid (PSA) solution was investigated by accelerated electrolysis. The durability of Ti/IrO2+Ta2 O5 anode increased by the addition of SnO2 in the mixed oxides. The degradation mechanisms of Ti/IrO2+ Ta2 O5 and Ti/IrO2 +Ta2 O5 +SnO+2 anodes were different. It was shown from the observation of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the electrochcmical measurement that, the deactivation of Ti/IrO2 + Ta2 O5 anode was due to the build-up of an organic film on surface. The growth of the covered film on surface was restricted by addition of SnO2, which resulted in increasing of the service life of anodes. The over-potential for oxygen evolution on Ti/IrO2 +Ta2 O5 electrode increased after doping SnO2, and the intermediate products of PSA building-up on the surface was much more rapidly oxidized. Meanwhile, a certain part of the surface oxide deposit entered into the solution leading to loss of oxides, which resulted in degradation of Ti/IroO2 + Ta2 O5 anode containing SnO2 component.J.M. 6Strength reduction factors for seismic analyses of buildings exposed to near-fault ground motions显示文摘To estimate the near-fault inelastic response spectra, the accuracy of six existing strength reduction factors (R) proposed by different investigators were evaluated by using a suite of near-fault earthquake records with directivity-induced pulses. In the evaluation, the force-deformation relationship is modelled by elastic-perfectly plastic, bilinear and stiffness degrading models, and two site conditions, rock and soil, are considered. The R-value ratio (ratio of the R value obtained from the existing R-expressions (or the R-μ-T relationships) to that from inelastic analyses) is used as a measurement parameter. Results show that the R-expressions proposed by Ordaz & Perez-Rocha are the most suitable for near-fault ground motions, followed by the Newmark & Hall and the Berrill et al. relationships. Based on an analysis using the near-fault ground motion dataset, new expressions of R that consider the effects of site conditions are presented and verifi ed.Qu Honglue Zhang Jianjing J.X. 16INTERACTIONS BETWEEN La_(2)O_(3) PARTICLES AND DISLOCATIONS IN Mo-La_(2)O_(3) ALLOYS显示文摘The mechanical properties of molybdenum wires doped with different contents of La2O3 were in- vestigated systematically and the interaction between La2O3 particles with dislocations in Mo- La2O3 wires were observed by SEM and TEM. It is shown that Mo-La203 wires possess much higher tensile strength than the pure Mo. In wires the dislocation motion is strongly hindered by La2O3 particles, which remains up to much higher temperature. Moreover, a number of prismat- ic dislocation loops and hexagonal dislocation network have been formed in annealed Mo-La2O3 wires. 18STRUCTURE, MAGNETISM AND MAGNETORESISTANCE OF ANNEALED Co/Cu DISCONTINUOUS MULTILAYERS显示文摘Co/Cu discontinuons multilayers were prepared by rf-sputtering method under high sputtering power and then annealed at various temperutures in a high vacuum. The structural, magnetic and transport properties were strongly influenced by the annealing temperature. The annealed samples obviously became discontinuous multilayers.A maximum magnetoresistance ratio of 5.6% was obtained under a relatively low saturation field of about 400 (103/4π)A/m at the optimum annealing temperature of 450℃. When the annealing temperature was increased, the resistivity decreased, and the coercive force and the saturation field increased. The magnetoresistance ratio also depended on the thickness of Co and Cu layers. The magnetic and transport properties were explained on the basis of the discontinuous multilayered structure.Yan, S.S.
