2Concise and efficient direct-view generation of arbitrary cylindrical vector beams by a vortex half-wave plate显示文摘A concise, efficient, and practical direct-view scheme is presented to generate arbitrary cylindrical vector(CV)beams, including CV beams, vortex beams, and cylindrical vector vortex(CVV) beams, by a vortex half-wave plate(VHP). Six kinds of first-order and other high-order CV beams, such as azimuthally polarized(AP) beams, antivortex radial polarization mode beams, and three-order AP beams, are formed by simply rotating a half-wave plate. The Stokes parameters and double-slit interference of multitype CV beams are investigated in detail.The polarization parameters, including degree of polarization, polarization azimuth, and ellipticity, are obtained,which demonstrates the efficient generation of CV beams. In addition, the double-slit interference experiment is introduced in the setup, and fringe misplacement and tilt appear for CVV beams, in which the misplacement number M is 2P+1 for P ≤ 2 and 2P-1 for P ≥ 3, where P is the polarization order number, and the fringe tilt offset is positively related to the topological charge number l of CVV beams. In addition, new types of VHPs can be formed by cascading two or more VHPs when the types of available VHPs are limited, assisting in more flexible generation of multitype CV beams. 4Plasma metabolomics combined with personalized diagnosis guided by Chinese medicine reveals subtypes of chronic heart failure显示文摘Background:Chronic heart failure(CHF)is characterized by insufficient blood supply from heart to meet the body’s metabolic demands.Integrating Western and traditional Chinese medicine to treat CHF has proved a validated therapeutic approach.In recent years,metabolomics has been regarded as a potential platform to provide biomarkers for diseasesubtypes.Objective:To examine 38 patients,combined NMR plasma metabolomics and traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis in order to identify diagnostic biomarkers for two CHF syndrome subtypes.Methods:After processing the spectra,orthogonal partial least square discriminant analysis was performed,and the contributing NMR signals were analyzed using Y-scrambling statistical validation with good reliability.Results:Plasma metabolic patterns of yin deficiency and yang deficiency patients were clearly discriminated.The yin-deficiency group had increased level of lactate,glycoprotein,lipoprotein and lower levels of glucose,valine and proline.The yang-deficiency group had higher levels of lactate,glycoprotein and pyruvic acid,and lower levels of glucose and lipoprotein.Potential biomarkers of CHF based on the two traditional Chinese medicine syndromes indicated alternative modes of metabolites and metabolic pathways in the disease,e.g.dysfunction of energy utilization and disturbance in fatty acids,amino acids.Conclusion:This study suggests that combining metabolomics with traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis can reveal metabolic signatures for CHF syndrome subtypes.The plasma metabolites identified might be of special clinical relevance for subtypes of CHF,which could lead to further understanding of mechanisms involved and an improvement in personalized treatment for CHF.Juan Wang Shuzhen Guo Kuo Gao Qi Shi Bangze Fu Chan Chen Liangtao Luo Dong Deng Huihui Zhao Wei Wang 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2015,2,2:2

6Association of myostatin Variants with Growth Traits of Zhikong Scallop(Chlamys farreri)显示文摘Scallop is a popular sea food and an important aquaculture shellfish.Identification of genes and genetic variants relating to scallop growth could benefit high-yielding scallop breeding.Myostatin(MSTN) is a conservative regulator of muscle growth,and has become one of the most important target genes for genetic improvement of the production of farmed animals.In this study,four single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) were identified in the 5' flanking region of MSTN gene(Cf MSTN) in Zhikong scallop(Chlamys farreri).The association of these SNPs with scallop growth traits,including shell length,shell height,body weight and striated muscle weight was analyzed.The SNP g-1162G>T was found to associate with shell length,shell height,and striated muscle weight.The TT type scallops showed significantly higher trait values than those of GT type,and the GG type individuals exhibited median values.On the contrary,significantly more Cf MSTN transcripts were detected in the striated muscle of GT type scallops than in those of TT and GG type ones.Our results suggested that Cf MSTN might regulate the scallop muscle growth negatively,and SNP g-1162G>T can be used as a candidate marker for the selective breeding of high-yielding scallop.FU Qiang GUO Huihui FENG Liying LI Xue ZHANG Lingling WANG Shi HU Xiaoli BAO Zhenmin 2016Journal of Ocean University of China2016,15,1:2

11Optimized weak measurement of orbital angular momentum-induced beam shifts in optical reflection显示文摘Tiny but universal beam shifts occur when a polarized light beam is reflected upon a planar interface.Although the beam shifts of Gaussian beams have been measured by the weak measurement technique, the weak measurement for orbital angular momentum(OAM)-induced spatial shifts of vortex beams is still missing.Here, by elaborately choosing the preselection and postselection states, the tiny OAM-induced Goos–H?nchen and Imbert–Fedorov shifts are amplified at an air–prism interface. The maximum shifts along directions both parallel and perpendicular to the incident plane are theoretically predicted and experimentally verified with optimal preselection and postselection states. 12Direct estimation of rupture depths of earthquake faults from coseismic surface deformation显示文摘The rupture dimensions of earthquake faults are important parameters for characterizing earthquake ruptures and ground motions. Two key parameters to be determined are the rupture depth and dip angle of earthquake faults. Dislocation theory in an elastic half space indicates that if a seismic rupture directly runs up to the ground surface, there exist zero points of horizontal strain in the surface deformation, which correspond to the rupture depths, except for pure strike-slip faults. In this study, we use numerical simulations to investigate the possibility of inferring rupture depths from zero-strain points for cases of buried faults and heterogeneous media. The results show that the correspondence of zero-strain points to the rupture depths can be influenced by the heterogeneity of the underground media and the stress field. For buried faults, the correspondence relationship is approximately valid when the fault depth is <1 km. In addition, the range of earthquake fault dip angles can be estimated by horizontal displacements on the ground. We also study how to determine the rupture depths of faults from InSAR data after large earthquakes, and successfully apply the method to the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. The method proposed here, which determines the parameters of fault geometry according to surface deformation, is simple and easy to perform. 13Diversity of culturable alginate lyase-excreting bacteria associated with Sargassum显示文摘Large numbers of bacteria live on the surface of various brown algae and can produce alginate lyases to consume alginate,an important component of the cell wall of brown algae.Sargassum is a genus of the largest canopyforming brown algae of more than 150 species,which are widely distributed in tropical and subtropical environments.However,our knowledge about the epiphytic bacteria and the alginate lyase-excreting bacteria from Sargassum is still primitive.Here,we investigated the diversity of the culturable epiphytic bacteria and alginate-degrading bacteria from Sargassum samples collected from the coastal seawaters of Shandong Province,China.In total,37 strains belonging to 21 genera in 3 phyla were isolated,including 15 previously unreported genera,of which Vibrio(6/37)and Pseudoalteromonas(5/37)are the dominant genera.Eight strains,mainly Vibrio and Pseudoalteromonas species,were further identified as alginate lyase-excreting strains that can utilize alginate for growth.The extracellular alginolytic activity of the 8 strains was determined,and strains Vibrio sp.C42and Pseudoalteromonas sp.M9 showed the highest activity.These results provide a better understanding of brown algae epiphytes and alginate-degrading bacteria,and are fundamental for further studies on the interactions between brown algae and their epiphytes.Xiaomeng Sun Zhao Xue Cui Chen Shoujin Fan Huihui Fu Peng Wang 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,6:0
14The effect of organic ligand modification on protein corona formation of nanoscale metal organic frameworks显示文摘Nanoscale metal organic frameworks(NMOFs)have been widely reported in biomedical field for their unique porous structure and tunable multifunctionality.However,when administrated in vivo,the protein corona will be formed on the surface of NMOFs,significantly affecting their biodistribution,pharmacokinetics and drug release.Few studies paid attention to the protein corona formation process and its influencing factors of NMOFs.As a well-established strategy for altering structure features of NMOFs,the organic ligand modification may have effect on the protein corona formation process,which is to be investigated.In this study,the zirconium(Zr)-based UIO66 was chosen as model NMOFs,the organic ligand of which was modified with amino group(-NH_(2))or carboxyl group(-COOH)to synthesize UIO66-NH_(2)and UIO66-2COOH,respectively.Bovine serum albumin(BSA)was chosen as model protein to investigate the protein corona formation process of NMOFs.The current results showed that the-COOH modification remarkably enhanced the BSA adsorption on NMOFs while-NH_(2)slightly decreased the protein binding affinity.These differences may be ascribed to the two different dominate protein corona formation modes,i.e.,surface coating mode and porous embedded mode.The protein corona formation did not affect the crystal phase of NMOFs but increased the content ofα-helix of BSA.Ultimately,upon protein corona formation,the cellular uptake of NMOFs was significantly affected.We believe our study will provide a new research paradigm to the design and applications of NMOFs.Wenhao Wang Huihui Liu Zhengwei Huang Fangqin Fu Wenhua Wang Linjing Wu Ying Huang Chuanbin Wu Xin Pan 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,9:0
15Scalable fabrication of graphene-assembled multifunctional electrode with efficient electrochemical detection of dopamine and glucose显示文摘Conventional glassy carbon electrodes(GCE)cannot meet the requirements of future electrodes for wider use due to low conductivity,high cost,non-portability,lack of flexibility.Therefore,cost-effective and wearable electrode enabling rapid and versatile molecule detection is becoming important,especially with the ever-increasing demand for health monitoring and point-ofcare diagnosis.Graphene is considered as an ideal electrode due to its excellent physicochemical properties.Here,we prepare graphene film with ultra-high conductivity and customize the 3-electrode system via a facile and highly controllable laser engraving approach.Benefiting from the ultra-high conductivity(5.65×10^(5)S·m^(−1)),the 3-electrode system can be used as multifunctional electrode for direct detection of dopamine(DA)and enzyme-based detection of glucose without further metal deposition.The dynamic ranges from 1–200μM to 0.5–8.0 mM were observed for DA and glucose,respectively,with a limit of detection(LOD)of 0.6μM and 0.41 mM.Overall,the excellent target detection capability caused by the ultra-high conductivity and ease modification of graphene films,together with their superb mechanical properties and ease of mass-produced,provides clear potential not only for replacing GCE for various electrochemical studies but also for the development of portable and highperformance electrochemical wearable medical devices.Xiaodong Ji Xin Zhao Zixin Zhang Yunfa Si Wei Qian Huaqiang Fu Zibo Chen Zhe Wang Huihui Jin Zhugen Yang Daping He 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:0
16Scaffold protein RACK1A positively regulates leaf senescence by coordinating the EIN3-miR164-ORE1 transcriptional cascade in Arabidopsis显示文摘Plants have adopted versatile scaffold proteins to facilitate the crosstalk between multiple signaling pathways. Leaf senescence is a well-programmed developmental stage that is coordinated by various external and internal signals. However,the functions of plant scaffold proteins in response to senescence signals are not well understood. Here, we report that the scaffold protein RACK1A(RECEPTOR FOR ACTIVATED C KINASE1A) participates in leaf senescence mediated by ethylene signaling via the coordination of the EIN3-miR164-ORE1 transcriptional regulatory cascade. RACK1A is a novel positive regulator of ethylene-mediated leaf senescence. The rack1a mutant exhibits delayed leaf senescence, while transgenic lines overexpressing RACK1A display early leaf senescence. Moreover, RACK1A promotes EIN3(ETHYLENE INSENSITIVE 3) protein accumulation, and directly interacts with EIN3 to enhance its DNA-binding activity.
