| 1 | The uptake diversity of soil nitrogen nutrients by main plant species in Kobresia humilis alpine meadow on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘We studied the uptake of ammonium,nitrate,and a variety of amino acids by alpine plant species in the Kobresia humilis alpine meadow ecosystem in situ.We examined the extent of niche separation in uptake of N source by different plant species in alpine communities,and investigated the contribution of symbiotically fixed N to the total N in alpine meadow.The results are(1) δ 15 N natural abundance values of 13 plant species lie between 2.680‰ and 5.169‰,and the scope is 7.849‰.(2) Leguminous plants,such as Trigonella ruthenica,Gueldenstaedtia diversiffolia,and Oxytyopis ochrocephala,and non-leguminous plant Gentiana straminea uptake low amounts of 15 N labeled ammonium,nitrate,glycine or aspartate in soil.(3) As far as the plant uptake of organic N is concerned,Kobresia humilis,Poa pratensis,and Gentiuna spathutifolta can effectively uptake organic nitrogen,and about 37%-40% of the nitrogen of these species comes from soil organic nitrogen sources(such as glycine and aspartate).Stipa aliena can effectively uptake nitrate,and 60% of its nitrogen comes from soil nitrate.Potentilla anserina,Poa pratensis,and Thalictrum alpinum can effectively absorb ammonium in comparason to other plant species in the meadow,and about 25%-27% of the nitrogen in these plants comes from soil ammonium.(4) The contribution of leguminous fixed N to total N is 7.48%-9.26% in Kobresia humilis alpine meadow.(5) These data show many plant species of alpine meadow may effectively utilize dissolved organic nitrogen such as amino acids,and these plants have diverse ways to uptake soil nitrogen in alpine meadows.Based on the results we can partly explain why there are abundant biodiversities and how plants at alpine habitat utilize the limited soil N sources. | WANG WenYing MA YongGui XU Jin WANG HuiChun ZHU JinFu ZHOU HuaKun | 2012 | Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,10: | 13 |
| 2 | Contamination of Phthalate Esters in Vegetable Agriculture and Human Cumulative Risk Assessment显示文摘Phthalate esters(PAEs), which can disturb human endocrine system, have been widely detected in vegetable greenhouse agriculture in China. To investigate the effects of environmental factors on PAEs in soils, pollution sources were identified, and the cumulative risks of PAEs to humans through vegetables in the diet were evaluated in this study. Ninety-eight vegetable samples were collected from 10 markets along with 128 vegetable and 111 soil samples from agricultural greenhouses and open field. All soil and vegetable samples were contaminated with PAEs, and the total concentrations of the 5 PAEs, including dimethyl phthalate(DMP), diethyl phthalate(DEP), di-iso-butyl phthalate(DiBP), di-n-butyl phthalate(DnBP), and di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate(DEHP), were in the ranges of 0.26–2.53 mg kg^(-1) for soils and 0.95–8.09 mg kg^(-1) for vegetables. Three components extracted from principle component analysis could explain 51.2%, 19.8%, and 15.3% of the total variance of the 5 PAEs in soils, which may represent three major sources of PAEs, i.e., wastewater irrigation, application of fertilizers and pesticides, and plastic film. Long-term greenhouse cultivation could accumulate DEHP in soils, and a higher soil Fe Ox content reduced the Dn BP concentration. Based on a survey of vegetables in the diet, the hazard index of PAEs was < 0.15 for individuals in different cities. The exposure of PAEs through vegetable intake was higher than the total exposure from other food stuffs, inhalation, and dermal absorption. | 4 | Enhanced dewaterability of waste activated sludge by UV assisted ZVI-PDS oxidation显示文摘Ultraviolet(UV)assisted zero-valent iron(ZVI)-activated sodium persulfate(PDS)oxidation(UV-ZVI-PDS)was used to treat waste activated sludge(WAS)in this study.The dewaterability performance and mechanism of WAS dewatering were analyzed.The results showed that UV-ZVI-PDS can obtain better sludge dewatering performance in a wide pH range(2.0-8.0).When the molar ratio of ZVI/PDS was 0.6,UV was 254nm,PDS dosage was 200 mg/g TS(total solid),pH was 6.54,reaction time was 20 min,the CST(capillary suction time)and SRF(specific resistance to filtration)were decreased by 64.0%and 78.2%,respectively.The molar ratio of ZVI/PDS used in this paper is much lower than that of literatures,and the contents of total Fe and Fe^(2+) in sludge supernatant remained at a low level,as 3.7 mg/L and 0.0 mg/L.The analysis of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS),scanning electron microscope(SEM)and particle size distribution showed that the EPS could be effectively destroyed by UV-ZVI-PDS,the sludge flocs broken down into smaller particles,cracks and holes appeared,and then the bound water was released.At the same time,the highly hydrophilic tightly bound-EPS(TB-EPS)were converted into loosely bound EPS(LB-EPS)and soluble EPS(S-EPS).During sludge pretreated by UV-ZVI-PDS,positively charged ions,such as Fe^(2+),Fe^(3+) and H^(+),produced in the reaction system could reduce the electronegativity of sludge surface,promote sludge particles aggregation,and then enhanced the sludge dewaterability. | Yanping Zhang Tiantian Li Jiayu Tian Huichun Zhang Fen Li Jiahua Pei | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,3: | 7 |
| 5 | Mapping Soil Electrical Conductivity Using Ordinary Kriging Combined with Back-propagation Network显示文摘Accurate mapping of soil salinity and recognition of its influencing factors are essential for sustainable crop production and soil health. Although the influencing factors have been used to improve the mapping accuracy of soil salinity, few studies have considered both aspects of spatial variation caused by the influencing factors and spatial autocorrelations for mapping. The objective of this study was to demonstrate that the ordinary kriging combined with back-propagation network(OK_BP), considering the two aspects of spatial variation, which can benefit the improvement of the mapping accuracy of soil salinity. To test the effectiveness of this approach, 70 sites were sampled at two depths(0–30 and 30–50 cm) in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China. Ordinary kriging(OK), back-propagation network(BP) and regression kriging(RK) were used in comparison analysis; the root mean square error(RMSE), relative improvement(RI) and the decrease in estimation imprecision(DIP) were used to judge the mapping quality. Results showed that OK_BP avoided the both underestimation and overestimation of the higher and lower values of interpolation surfaces. OK_BP revealed more details of the spatial variation responding to influencing factors, and provided more flexibility for incorporating various correlated factors in the mapping. Moreover, OK_BP obtained better results with respect to the reference methods(i.e., OK, BP, and RK) in terms of the lowest RMSE, the highest RI and DIP. | 8 | Identification of banana fusarium wilt using supervised classification algorithms with UAV-based multi-spectral imagery显示文摘The disease of banana Fusarium wilt currently threatens banana production areas all over the world.Rapid and large-area monitoring of Fusarium wilt disease is very important for the disease treatment and crop planting adjustments.The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of supervised classification algorithms such as support vector machine(SVM),random forest(RF),and artificial neural network(ANN)algorithms to identify locations that were infested or not infested with Fusarium wilt.An unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)equipped with a five-band multi-spectral sensor(blue,green,red,red-edge and near-infrared bands)was used to capture the multi-spectral imagery.A total of 139 ground sample-sites were surveyed to assess the occurrence of banana Fusarium wilt.The results showed that the SVM,RF,and ANN algorithms exhibited good performance for identifying and mapping banana Fusarium wilt disease in UAV-based multi-spectral imagery.The overall accuracies of the SVM,RF,and ANN were 91.4%,90.0%,and 91.1%,respectively for the pixel-based approach.The RF algorithm required significantly less training time than the SVM and ANN algorithms.The maps generated by the SVM,RF,and ANN algorithms showed the areas of occurrence of Fusarium wilt disease were in the range of 5.21-5.75 hm2,accounting for 36.3%-40.1%of the total planting area of bananas in the study area.The results also showed that the inclusion of the red-edge band resulted in an increase in the overall accuracy of 2.9%-3.0%.A simulation of the resolutions of satellite-based imagery(i.e.,0.5 m,1 m,2 m,and 5 m resolutions)showed that imagery with a spatial resolution higher than 2 m resulted in good identification accuracy of Fusarium wilt.The results of this study demonstrate that the RF classifier is well suited for the identification and mapping of banana Fusarium wilt disease from UAV-based remote sensing imagery.The results provide guidance for disease treatment and crop planting adjustments. | Huichun Ye Wenjiang Huang Shanyu Huang Bei Cui Yingying Dong Anting Guo Yu Ren Yu Jin | 2020 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,3: | 3 |
| 9 | Comparative Study of the Disinfection Effects of Three Types of Conjunctiva Sac Irrigations显示文摘Purpose:The antiseptic effectiveness of 5% anerdian Ⅲ, 0.016% gentamicin,and 0.5% tobramycin solutions in pre-surgical irrigation of conjunctival sac were compared. Methods:A total of 295 cataract patients (302 eyes) who had undergone phacoemulsification aspiration combined with intraocular lens insertion. (IOL).were recruited in this prospective study.Operative eyes were given 0.3% levofloxacin eye drops for 3 days and then were randomized into three treatment groups:anerdian. (A), gentamicin (B) and tobramycin (C).The patients received conjunctival sac irrigation using the respective solutions at 10 minutes preoperatively.Conjunctival sac sampling was performed before and after irrigation and the samples were used for subsequent bacterial culture and swab tests. The positive culture rate was used as the main outcome. Results:The positive rates of bacterial culture before conjunctival sac irrigationwere 17.31% (18 eyes) in group A, 13.86% (14 eyes) in group B and 17.3% (14 eyes) in group C.Post irrigation,the positive rates in the three groups decreased to 5.76% . (6 eyes),5.94% . (6 eyes) and 7.22% (7 eyes), respectively. The positive rates among the three groups did not differ significantly.However,the positive rate in group A only significantly differed before and after the irrigation (P<0.05). No toxic or allergic reactions were observed on the ocular surface of any patient after irrigation. | 11 | Quantitative identification of crop disease and nitrogen-water stress in winter wheat using continuous wavelet analysis显示文摘It is necessary to quantitatively identify different diseases and nitrogen-water stress for the guidance in spraying specific fungicides and fertilizer applications.The winter wheat diseases,in combination with nitrogen-water stress,are therefore common causes of yield loss in winter wheat in China.Powdery mildew(Blumeria graminis)and stripe rust(Puccinia striiformis f.sp.Tritici)are two of the most prevalent winter wheat diseases in China.This study investigated the potential of continuous wavelet analysis to identify the powdery mildew,stripe rust and nitrogen-water stress using canopy hyperspectral data.The spectral normalization process was applied prior to the analysis.Independent t-tests were used to determine the sensitivity of the spectral bands and vegetation index.In order to reduce the number of wavelet regions,correlation analysis and the independent t-test were used in conjunction to select the features of greatest importance.Based on the selected spectral bands,vegetation indices and wavelet features,the discriminate models were established using Fisher’s linear discrimination analysis(FLDA)and support vector machine(SVM).The results indicated that wavelet features were superior to spectral bands and vegetation indices in classifying different stresses,with overall accuracies of 0.91,0.72,and 0.72 respectively for powdery mildew,stripe rust and nitrogen-water by using FLDA,and 0.79,0.67 and 0.65 respectively by using SVM.FLDA was more suitable for differentiating stresses in winter wheat,with respective accuracies of 78.1%,95.6%and 95.7%for powdery mildew,stripe rust,and nitrogen-water stress.Further analysis was performed whereby the wavelet features were then split into high-scale and low-scale feature subsets for identification.The accuracies of high-scale and low-scale features with an overall accuracy(OA)of 0.61 and 0.73 respectively were lower than those of all wavelet features with an OA of 0.88.The detection of the severity of stripe rust using this method showed an enhanced reliability(R^(2)=0.828). | Wenjiang Huang Junjing Lu Huichun Ye Weiping Kong A.Hugh Mortimer Yue Shi | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,2: | 2 |
