| 6 | Mortality rate of COVID-19 infection in end stage kidney disease patients on maintenance hemodialysis:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has been the most talked-about disease of the past few years.Patients with significant comorbidities have been at particular risk of adverse outcomes.This study looked at the outcomes and risk factors for adverse outcomes among patients on chronic hemodialysis for end-stage renal disease,a group of patients known to be particularly susceptible to infectious complications.AIM To assess outcomes and risk factors for adverse outcomes of COVID-19 infection among patients on chronic hemodialysis.METHODS We searched PubMed/MEDLINE,EMBASE,Reference Citation Analysis(http://gffzzb1f9d057b5954674s6ux90of0x6px609v.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/)and Web of Science databases for relevant terms and imported the results into the Covidence platform.From there,studies were assessed in two stages for relevance and quality,and data from studies that satisfied all the requirements were extracted into a spreadsheet.The data was then analyzed descriptively and statistically.RESULTS Of the 920 studies identified through the initial database search,only 17 were included in the final analysis.The studies included in the analysis were mostly carried out during the first wave.We found that COVID-19 incidence among patients on hemodialysis was significant,over 10%in some studies.Those who developed COVID-19 infection were most likely going to be hospitalized,and over 1 in 5 died from the infection.Intensive care unit admission rate was lower than the infection lethality rate.Biochemical abnormalities and dyspnea were generally reported to be associated with adverse outcomes.CONCLUSION This systematic review confirms that patients on chronic hemodialysis are very high-risk individuals for COVID-19 infections,and a significant proportion was infected during the first wave.Their prognosis is overall much worse than in the general population,and every effort needs to be made to decrease their exposure. | Ivan Cancarevic Mahmoud Nassar Ahmed Daoud Hatem Ali Nso Nso Angelica Sanchez Avish Parikh Asma Ul Hosna Bhavana Devanabanda Nazakat Ahmed Karim M Soliman | 2022 | World Journal of Virology2022,11,5: | 1 |

| 12 | Study of non-revenue water status and enforcement measures to reduce water loss:case study in villages of Kermanshah Province of Iran显示文摘In this study, the volume and the cash value of water loss, and reduction of water loss as a result of enforcement action during 2011-2013 in the drinking water network of villages in Kermanshah Province, Iran, have been investigated. Date collected by referring to the different parts of rural water and waste water company of Kermanshah Province and checklist were completed. The study showed the volume of produced water and sold water has increased and the water loss percentage has decreased. High cost of water production compared to revenue of sold water and water loss resulted in significant detriments in terms of the water production costs. Water loss level decreased from 33% to 30% as result of measures taken to reduce water loss but, it is still15% higher than the world average level. Also the reduction in number of water resources and increase in the number and volume of reservoirs indicates a lack of water and a growing need. | 13 | Long term exposure to ambient air particulate matter and mortality effects in Megacity of Tehran,Iran:2012-2017显示文摘Ambient particulate matter(PM)is the major environmental concern in Tehran,Iran.Exposure to such particles is a serious global health concern and substantial evidence indicates that exposure to particulate matter contributes to cardiovascular and respiratory disease.Here,we provide a detailed health impact of ambient air pollution in Tehran by linking PM pollution with mortality caused by cardiovascular and respiratory disease.Air quality data of PM obtained from Tehran Air Quality Monitoring Stations(TAQMSs)during 2012–2017.Data mining methods conducted by Spatio-temporal outlier detection and“Air Pollution and Health:a European Approach(APHEA)project”was applied to impute missing values.Time-series data were analyzed to estimate the associations between PM pollution and cause-specific mortality at different lags in Tehran.Based on descriptive analysis,PM_(2.5) is expected to be a major influencing factor in the increased cardiovascular-related death(CVD)and respiratory dysfunction related death(RD)deaths.The cross-correlation analysis showed the same source for PM_(2.5) and PM_(10) in the ambient air of Tehran.Also,the results indicated delays of about 7-15 days from the increased concentrations of PMs and the observed rising in CVD and RD death.Trend analysis showed a more decreasing trend for PM_(2.5) pollutions than PM_(10) pollution and a slightly increasing trend for cause-specific deaths during 2012-2017.Long term exposure to high PM levels increases the CVD and RD deaths and control strategies along with control regulations should be considered to control PM. | Mehdi Fazlzadeh Roohollah Rostami Fatemeh Yousefian Masud Yunesian Hosna Janjani | 2021 | Particuology2021,19,5: | 0 |
