| 1 | Monte Carlo Method for the Uncertainty Evaluation of Spatial Straightness Error Based on New Generation Geometrical Product Specification显示文摘Straightness error is an important parameter in measuring high-precision shafts. New generation geometrical product specification(GPS) requires the measurement uncertainty characterizing the reliability of the results should be given together when the measurement result is given. Nowadays most researches on straightness focus on error calculation and only several research projects evaluate the measurement uncertainty based on 'The Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement(GUM)'. In order to compute spatial straightness error(SSE) accurately and rapidly and overcome the limitations of GUM, a quasi particle swarm optimization(QPSO) is proposed to solve the minimum zone SSE and Monte Carlo Method(MCM) is developed to estimate the measurement uncertainty. The mathematical model of minimum zone SSE is formulated. In QPSO quasi-random sequences are applied to the generation of the initial position and velocity of particles and their velocities are modified by the constriction factor approach. The flow of measurement uncertainty evaluation based on MCM is proposed, where the heart is repeatedly sampling from the probability density function(PDF) for every input quantity and evaluating the model in each case. The minimum zone SSE of a shaft measured on a Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM) is calculated by QPSO and the measurement uncertainty is evaluated by MCM on the basis of analyzing the uncertainty contributors. The results show that the uncertainty directly influences the product judgment result. Therefore it is scientific and reasonable to consider the influence of the uncertainty in judging whether the parts are accepted or rejected, especially for those located in the uncertainty zone. | 2 | Lateral Flight Technical Error Estimation Model for Performance Based Navigation显示文摘Flight technical error (FTE) combined with navigation system error (NSE) is the main part of total system error (TSE) in performance based navigation (PBN).The implementation of PBN requires pre-flight prediction and en-route short-term dynamical prediction of the TSE.Once the sum of predicted lateral FTE and NSE is greater than the specified PBN value,the PBN cannot operate.Thus,accurate modeling and thorough analysis of lateral FTE are indispensible.Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) lateral track control system of a transport aircraft is designed using linear quadratic Gaussian and loop transfer recovery (LQG/LTR) method,and the lateral FTE of a turbulence disturbed approach operation is analyzed.The error estimation mapping function of latera FTE and its bound estimation algorithm are proposed based on singular value theory.According to the forming mechanism of lateral FTE,the algorithm considers environmental turbulence fluctuation disturbance,aircraft dynamics and control system parameters.Real-data-based Monte-Carlo simulation validates the theoretical analysis of FTE.It also shows that FTE is mainly caused by turbulence fluctuation disturbance when automatic flight control system (AFCS) is engaged and would increase with escalating environmental turbulence intensity. | ZHAO Hongsheng XU Xiaohao ZHANG Jun ZHU Yanbo YANG Chuansen HONG Sheng | 2011 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2011,24,3: | 8 |

| 5 | Surface accuracy optimization of mechanical parts with multiple circular holes for additive manufacturing based on triangular fuzzy number显示文摘Surface accuracy directly affects the surface quality and performance of mechanical parts.Circular hole,especially spatial non-planar hole set is the typical feature and working surface of mechanical parts.Compared with traditional machining methods,additive manufacturing(AM)technology can decrease the surface accuracy errors of circular holes during fabrication.However,an accuracy error may still exist on the surface of circular holes fabricated by AM due to the influence of staircase effect.This study proposes a surface accuracy optimization approach for mechanical parts with multiple circular holes for AM based on triangular fuzzy number(TFN).First,the feature lines on the manifold mesh are extracted using the dihedral angle method and normal tensor voting to detect the circular holes.Second,the optimal AM part build orientation is determined using the genetic algorithm to optimize the surface accuracy of the circular holes by minimizing the weighted volumetric error of the part.Third,the corresponding weights of the circular holes are calculated with the TFN analytic hierarchy process in accordance with the surface accuracy requirements.Lastly,an improved adaptive slicing algorithm is utilized to reduce the entire build time while maintaining the forming surface accuracy of the circular holes using digital twins via virtual printing.The effectiveness of the proposed approach is experimentally validated using two mechanical models. | Jinghua XU Hongsheng SHENG Shuyou ZHANG Jianrong TAN Jinlian DENG | 2021 | Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2021,16,1: | 2 |

| 7 | Forming Mechanism of Gaseous Defect in Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb Exhaust Valves Formed with Permanent Mold Centrifugal Casting Method显示文摘A method combining theoretical analysis with experiment is adopted and the flowing process of Ti-48A1-2Cr-2Nb alloy melt poured in a permanent mould during the centrifugal casting process has been analyzed. A mathematical model of the filling process is established and the forming mechanism of internal gaseous defect is summarized. The results of calculation show that the melt fills the mould with varying cross-section area and inclined angle. The filling speed of the cross-section is a function of filling time. The cross-section area is directly proportional to the filling speed and the inclined angle is inversely proportional to the filling speed at a given rotating speed of the platform. Both of them changes more obvious near the mould entrance. The gaseous defect can be formed in several ways and the centrifugal field has an important influence on the formation of the defect. | 14 | Build orientation determination of multi-feature mechanical parts in selective laser melting via multi-objective decision making显示文摘Selective laser melting(SLM)is a unique additive manufacturing(AM)category that can be used to manufacture mechanical parts.It has been widely used in aerospace and automotive using metal or alloy powder.The build orientation is crucial in AM because it affects the as-built part,including its part accuracy,surface roughness,support structure,and build time and cost.A mechanical part is usually composed of multiple surface features.The surface features carry the production and design knowledge,which can be utilized in SLM fabrication.This study proposes a method to determine the build orientation of multi-feature mechanical parts(MFMPs)in SLM.First,the surface features of an MFMP are recognized and grouped for formulating the particular optimization objectives.Second,the estimation models of involved optimization objectives are established,and a set of alternative build orientations(ABOs)is further obtained by many-objective optimization.Lastly,a multi-objective decision making method integrated by the technique for order of preference by similarity to the ideal solution and cosine similarity measure is presented to select an optimal build orientation from those ABOs.The weights of the feature groups and considered objectives are achieved by a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process.Two case studies are reported to validate the proposed method with numerical results,and the effectiveness comparison is presented.Physical manufacturing is conducted to prove the performance of the proposed method.The measured average sampling surface roughness of the most crucial feature of the bracket in the original orientation and the orientations obtained by the weighted sum model and the proposed method are 15.82,10.84,and 10.62μm,respectively.The numerical and physical validation results demonstrate that the proposed method is desirable to determine the build orientations of MFMPs with competitive results in SLM. | Hongsheng SHENG Jinghua XU Shuyou ZHANG Jianrong TAN Kang WANG | 2023 | Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2023,18,2: | 0 |
