| 2 | Cell cycle-related genes p57kip2, Cdk5 and Spin in the pathogenesis of neural tube defects显示文摘In the field of developmental neurobiology, accurate and ordered regulation of the cell cycle and apoptosis are crucial factors contributing to the normal formation of the neural tube. Preliminary studies identified several genes involved in the development of neural tube defects. In this study, we established a model of developmental neural tube defects by administration of retinoic acid to pregnant rats. Gene chip hybridization analysis showed that genes related to the cell cycle and apoptosis, signal transduction, transcription and translation regulation, energy and metabolism, heat shock, and matrix and cytoskeletal proteins were all involved in the formation of developmental neural tube defects. Among these, cell cycle-related genes were predominant. Retinoic acid treat-ment caused differential expression of three cell cycle-related genes p57kip2, Cdk5 and Spin, the expression levels of which were downregulated by retinoic acid and upregulated during normal neural tube formation. The results of this study indicate that cell cycle-related genes play an im-portant role in the formation of neural tube defects. | 3 | Calcium isotopic signatures of depleted mid-ocean ridge basalts from the northeastern Pacific显示文摘A number of high-temperature processes(e.g.,melt-rock reactions,metasomatism,partial melting)can produce signifi cant Ca isotopic fractionation and heterogeneity in the mantle,but the mechanism for such fractionation remains obscure.To investigate the eff ect of mantle partial melting on Ca isotopic fractionation,we reported high-precision Ca isotopic compositions of depleted mid-ocean ridge basalts(MORBs)from the East Pacifi c Rise and Ecuador Rift in the northeastern Pacifi c.Theδ44/40 Ca of these MORB samples exhibit a narrow variation from 0.84‰to 0.88‰with an average of 0.85‰±0.03‰,which are similar to those of reported MORBs(0.83‰±0.11‰)and back-arc basin basalts(BABBs,0.80‰±0.08‰)in literature,but are lower than the estimate value for the bulk silicate Earth(BSE,0.94‰±0.05‰).The lowδ44/40 Ca signatures of MORB samples in this study cannot be caused by fractional crystallization,since intermediate-mafi c diff erentiation has been demonstrated having only limited eff ects on Ca isotopic fractionation.Instead,the off set ofδ44/40 Ca between MORBs and the BSE is most likely produced by mantle partial melting.During this process,the light Ca isotopes are preferentially transferred to the melt,while the heavy ones tend to stay in the residue,which is consistent with the fact thatδ44/40 Ca of melt-depleted peridotites increases with partial melting in literature.The behavior of Ca isotopes during mantle partial melting is closely related to the inter-mineral(Cpx and Opx)Ca isotopic fractionation and melting mineral modes.Mantle partial melting is one of the common processes that can induce lowerδ44/40 Ca values in basalts and Ca isotopic heterogeneity in Earth’s mantle. | ZHU Hongli DU Long ZHANG Zhaofeng SUN Weidong | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,5: | 1 |

| 5 | Sex differences of brain cortical structure in major depressive disorder显示文摘Background:Major depressive disorder(MDD)has different clinical presentations in males and females.However,the neuroanatom-ical mechanisms underlying these sex differences are not fully understood.Objective:The purpose of present study was to explore the sex differences in brain cortical thickness(CT)and surface area(SA)of MDD and the relationship between these differences and clinical manifestations in different gender.Methods:High-resolution T1-weighted images were acquired from 61 patients with MDD and 61 healthy controls(36 females and 25 males,both).The sex differences in CT and SA were obtained using the FreeSurfer software and compared between every two groups by post hoc test.Spearman correlation analysis was also performed to explore the relationships between these regions and clinical characteristics.Results:In male patients with MDD,the CT of the right precentral was thinner compared to female patients,although this did not survive Bonferroni correction.The SA of several regions,including right superior frontal,medial orbitofrontal gyrus,inferior frontal gyrus triangle,superior temporal,middle temporal,lateral occipital gyrus,and inferior parietal lobule in female patients with MDD was smaller than that in male patients(P<0.01 after Bonferroni correction).In female patients,the SA of the right superior temporal(r=0.438,P=0.008),middle temporal(r=0.340,P=0.043),and lateral occipital gyrus(r=0.372,P=0.025)were positively correlated with illness duration.Conclusion:The current study provides evidence of sex differences in CT and SA in patients with MDD,which may improve our understanding of the sex-specific neuroanatomical changes in the development of MDD. | Jingping Mou Ting Zheng Zhiliang Long Lan Mei Yuting Wang Yizhi Yuan Xin Guo Hongli Yang Qiyong Gong Lihua Qiu | 2023 | Psychoradiology2023,3,1: | 0 |
| 6 | A Study on Human-Computer Interaction Mechanism in an Intelligent Tutoring System显示文摘Discussion is a common and important learning process.Involvement of a virtual agent can provide adaptive support for the discussion process.Argumen-tative knowledge construction is beneficial to learners’acquisition of knowledge,but the effectiveness of argumentative scaffolding in existing studies is not consistent.Based on an intelligent discussion system,a total of 47 undergraduate students took part in the experiment and they were assigned to three different conditions:content-related plus content-independent scaffolding condition,content-related scaffolding condition,and the control condition.Under the content-related and content-independent scaffolding condition,the computer agent provided an idea from semantically different categories(content-related scaffolding)according to the automatic categorization of the current contributions,and further inquired the participants about their attitudes and reasons(content-independent scaffolding).Under the condition of content-related scaffolding condition,the virtual agent only provided semantically different viewpoints.Under the control condition,the subjects expressed their opinion independently without the participation of the virtual agent.Findings revealed that compared with the control group,when the virtual agent provided semantically different ideas(content-related scaffolding),the discussion breadth(number of categories)was improved and the subjects felt that they had a more comprehensive understanding of the problem.Compared with the content-related scaffolding condition,when the virtual agent provided semantically different ideas and further asked about the attitudes and reasons,the subjects expressed more agreement with these views,but mentioned fewer categories during the discussion.This study suggests that the content-related scaffolding can facilitate the cognitive processing effect relevant to the topic of discussion.When the content independent scaffolding is added,it can promote the argumentative processing,but may have a negative effect on the cognitive processing related to the topic discussed. | GAO Hongli YANG Lei XU Sheng LONG Zhou LIU Kai HU Xiang’en | 2022 | Frontiers of Education in China2022,17,1: | 0 |
| 7 | Retinoic acid induction of genes associated with neural tube developmental defects显示文摘To date, little information has been available regarding genes involved in the regulation of embryonic cell development, which participate in retinoic acid-induced neural tube defects in mice. Previous studies have revealed seven differentially expressed genes involved in neural tube developmental defects. However, gene expression and regulation is a complex process. Therefore, gene expression differences between normal and defective neural tubes at 9.5 and 10.5 days were compared. A total of eight differentially expressed genes exhibited coincident alterations at embryonic 9.5 and 10.5 days. In mice with retinoic acid-induced neural tube defects, NeK7, IGFBP5, ZW10, Csf3r, PSMC6, Cdk5, and Rb1 expressions were downregulated, but Apoa-4 expression was upregulated. These results were confirmed by Northern blot hybridization. | 10 | Gene expression in retinoic acid-induced neural tube defects A cDNA microarray analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND:Neural tube defects can be induced by abnormal factors in vivo or in vitro during development.However,the molecular mechanisms of neural tube defect induction,and the related gene expression and regulation are still unknown. OBJECTIVE:To compare the differences in gene expression between normal embryos and those with neural tube defects. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A neural development study was performed at the Department of Neurobiology,Third Military Medical University of Chinese PLA between January 2006 and October 2007. MATERIALS:Among 120 adult Kunming mice,60 pregnant mice were randomly and evenly divided into a retinoic acid group(n = 30) and a normal control group(n =30).The retinoic acid was produced by Sigma,USA,the gene microarray by the Amersham Pharmacia Company,Hong Kong,and the gene sequence was provided by the Incyte database,USA. METHODS:Retinoic acid was administered to prepare models of neural tube defects,and corn oil was similarly administered to the normal control group.Total RNA was extracted from embryonic tissue of the two groups using a Trizol kit,and a cDNA microarray containing 1 100 known genes was used to compare differences in gene expression between the normal control group and the retinoic acid group on embryonic(E) day 10.5 and 11.5.Several differentially expressed genes were randomly selected from the two groups for Northern blotting,to verify the results of the cDNA microarray. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Morphological changes and differential gene expression between the normal control group and the retinoic acid group. RESULTS:Anatomical microscopy demonstrated that an intact closure of the brain was formed in the normal mouse embryos by days E10.5 and E11.5.The cerebral appearance was full and smooth,and the surface of the spine was intact.However,in the retinoic acid group on days E10.5 and E11.5,there were more dead embryos.Morphological malformations typically included non-closure at the top of the cranium and abnormal changes of the metencephalon and face. cDNA microarray analysis suggested that the changes in expression of seven different genes were similar on both days E10.5 and E11.5.These were downregulation of Nek7,Igfbp5,Zw10, Csf3r,Psmc6 and Rb1,and upregulation of Apoa-4.This study also indicated that Cdk5 expression was downregulated in the retinoic acid group on day E11.5.The results of the cDNA microarray analysis were partly confirmed by Northern blotting. | 14 | Bismuth nanorods confined in hollow carbon structures for high performance sodium-and potassium-ion batteries显示文摘Bismuth has drawn widespread attention as a prospective alloying-type anode for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)and potassium-ion batteries(PIBs)due to its large volumetric capacity.However,such material encounters drastic particle pulverization and overgrowth of solid-electrolyte interphase(SEI)upon repeated(de)alloying,thus causing poor rate and cycling degradation.Herein,we report a unique structure design with bismuth nanorods confined in hollow N,S-codoped carbon nanotubes(Bi@NS-C)fabricated by a solvothermal method and in-situ thermal reduction.Ex-situ SEM observations confirm that such a design can significantly suppress the size fining of Bi nanorods,thus inhibiting the particle pulverization and repeated SEI growth upon charging/discharging.The as achieved Bi@NS-C demonstrates outstanding rate capability for SIBs(96.5%capacity retention at 30 A g^(-1) vs.1 A g^(-1)),and a record high rate performance for PIBs(399.5 m Ah g^(-1)@20 A g^(-1)).Notably,the as constructed full cell(Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)@C|Bi@NS-C)demonstrates impressive performance with a high energy density of 219.8 W h kg^(-1) and a high-power density of 6443.3 W kg^(-1)(based on the total mass of active materials on both electrodes),outperforming the state-of-the-art literature. | Hongli Long Xiuping Yin Xuan Wang Yufeng Zhao Liuming Yan | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,4: | 0 |
