1Comparison of gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel and FOLFIRINOX in metastatic pancreatic cancer显示文摘BACKGROUND Gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel(GA)and modified FOLFIRINOX(FFX)have been widely used as standard first-line treatment in pancreatic cancer.However,it is unclear which regimen is more efficacious.AIM To evaluate a retrospective analysis comparing the efficacy and safety of FFX and GA as first-line chemotherapeutic regimens in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.METHODS We retrospectively analyzed and compared outcomes in 101 patients who presented with pancreatic cancer and were treated with either GA(n=54)or FFX(n=47).Moreover,we performed subgroup analysis based on the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG)performance status.RESULTS There were no significant differences between two groups in baseline characteristics,except for the ECOG performance status.The median progression-free survival(PFS)(6.43 mo vs 4.90 mo,P=0.058)was comparable between two groups;however,median overall survival(OS)(10.17 mo vs 6.93 mo,P=0.008)was longer in patients who received GA regimen.In patients with ECOG 0(PFS:8.93 mo vs 5.43 mo,P=0.002;OS:16.10 mo vs 6.97 mo,P=0.000)and those with NLR<3(PFS:8.10 mo vs 6.57 mo,P=0.008;OS:12.87 mo vs 9.93 mo,P=0.002),GA regimen showed higher efficacy.CONCLUSION GA regimen may be recommended to the patients with NLR<3 or ECOG 0 status although GA and FFX showed comparable efficacy outcomes in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.Sung Yong Han Dong Uk Kim Young Mi Seol Suk Kim Nam Kyung Lee Seung Baek Hong Hyung-Il Seo 2020World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,17:5
2A sulfur self-doped multifunctional biochar catalyst for overall water splitting and a supercapacitor from Camellia japonica flowers显示文摘A versatile use of a sulfur self-doped biochar derived from Camellia japonica(camellia)flowers is demonstrated as a multifunctional catalyst for overall water splitting and a supercapacitor.The native sulfur content in the camellia flower facilitates in situ self-doping of sulfur,which highly activates the camellia-driven biochar(SA-Came)as a multifunctional catalyst with the enhanced electron-transfer ability and long-term durability.For water splitting,an SA-Came-based electrode is highly stable and shows reaction activities in both hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions,with overpotentials of 154 and 362 mV at 10 mA cm^(−2),respectively.For supercapacitors,SA-Came achieves a specific capacitance of 125.42 F g^(−1)at 2 A g^(−1)and high cyclic stability in a three-electrode system in a 1 M KOH electrolyte.It demonstrated a high energy density of 34.54 Wh kg^(−1)at a power density of 1600 W kg^(−1)as a symmetric hybrid supercapacitor device with a wide working potential range of 0-1.6 V.Chengkai Xia Subramani Surendran Seulgi Ji Dohun Kim Yujin Chae Jaekyum Kim Minyeong Je Mi-Kyung Han Woo-Seok Choe Chang Hyuck Choi Heechae Choi Jung Kyu Kim Uk Sim 2022Carbon Energy2022,4,4:3
3Acute distal common bile duct angle is risk factor for postendoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis in beginner endoscopist显示文摘BACKGROUND Post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)pancreatitis(PEP)is a critical and poorly managed complication of ERCP.Endoscopists need to understand the risk factors for PEP.However,the majority of studies investigating ERCP-related risk factors have included well-trained endoscopists,with the issue of endoscopist experience on PEP incidence not having been systematically evaluated.AIM To explore the risk factors for PEP in beginner endoscopists without supervision.METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis of 293 patients,with naïve papilla and no history of pancreatitis,treated using bile duct cannulation.Patients were classified according to the endoscopist’s experience(beginner vs expert).The angle of the distal common bile duct(CBD)was measured as the angle between the lower wall of the bile duct and a vertical line extending to the lower wall of the bile duct on coronal view computed tomography.RESULTS After propensity matching,there were no differences between patients treated by the expert and beginner endoscopist with regard to age,sex,mean bile duct dilatation,and ratio of benign disease.The distal CBD angle was classified as acute(>30º)or obtuse(≤30º),based on the mean angle of 29.9ºfor the group.An acute distal CBD angle was a significant risk factor for PEP for beginner(P=0.049),but not expert.CONCLUSION For beginner endoscopists first performing unsupervised ERCP,cases with an obtuse distal CBD angle may be more appropriate to lower the risk of PEP.Sung Yong Han Dong Uk Kim Moon Won Lee Young Joo Park Dong Hoon Baek Gwang Ha Kim Geun Am Song 2020World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,1:3

6Fast ray tracing method in 3-D structure and its proof of positive definiteness显示文摘Based on Fermat’s principle, two-point ray tracing method was studied in three-dimensional structure. By means of first order Taylor’s incomplete series expansion (i.e. no expansion to the length of the ray), a symmetry block tridiagonal matrix equation set was deduced. Further, the positive definiteness of coefficient matrix was discussed, and the positive definiteness was accurately proved in a mathematical way. It assured that the algorithm was well-posed. Associated with iterative method, the solution to ray tracing can be got through step-by-step linearized iteration of the nonlinear problem. An algorithm of the whole path iterative ray tracing method in three-dimensional velocity structure was obtained. This method shows a clear and simple as well as explicit computation formula, which makes ray tracing computation easily applicable in practice. The correction vector is obtained through finding the solution to the positive definite block tridiagonal equation set, which ensures the method is robust convergence. This study offers a new kind of feasible and efficient ray tracing method for three dimensional seismic migration and tomography. 7Computer simulation of rolling wear on bionic non-smooth convex surfaces显示文摘The study of bionics has found that the skins of many burrow animals which live in soil and stone conditions have an anti wear function, and which is related to their body surfaces’non-smooth morphology. In the present study, bionic non-smooth surfaces are used in roll surface design, and roll models with convex non-smooth surfaces are developed. The rolling wear of non-smooth roll in steel rolling is simulated by the FEM software-ANSYS. 8GnRH impairs diabetic wound healing through enhanced NETosis显示文摘It has been reported that neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)impair wound healing in diabetes and that inhibiting NET generation(NETosis)improves wound healing in diabetic mice.Gonadotropin-releasing hormone(GnRH)agonists are associated with a greater risk of diabetes.However,the role of GnRH in diabetic wound healing is unclear.We determined whether GnRH-promoted NETosis and induced more severe and delayed diabetic wound healing.A mouse model of diabetes was established using five injections with streptozotocin.Mice with blood glucose levels>250 mg/dL were then used in the experiments.GnRH agonist treatment induced delayed wound healing and increased NETosis at the skin wounds of diabetic mice.In contrast,GnRH antagonist treatment inhibited GnRH agonist-induced delayed wound healing.The expression of NETosis markers PAD4 and citrullinated histone H3 were increased in the GnRH-treated diabetic skin wounds in diabetic mice and patients.In vitro experiments also showed that neutrophils expressed a GnRH receptor and that GnRH agonist treatment increased NETosis markers and promoted phorbol myristate acetate(PMA)-induced NETosis in mouse and human neutrophils.Furthermore,GnRH antagonist treatment suppressed the expression of NETosis markers and PMA-induced NETosis,which were increased by GnRH treatment.These results indicated that GnRH-promoted NETosis and that increased NETosis induced delayed wound healing in diabetic skin wounds.Thus,inhibition of GnRH might be a novel treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.Yun Sang Lee Sung Un Kang Myung-Hoon Lee Haeng-Jun Kim Chang-Hak Han Ho-Ryun Won Young Uk Park Chul-Ho Kim 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,8:2

20Rapid crystallization-driven high-efficiency phase-pure deep-blue Ruddlesden–Popper perovskite light-emitting diodes显示文摘Perovskite light-emitting diodes(PeLEDs)are considered as promising candidates for nextgeneration solution-processed full-color displays.However,the external quantum efficiencies(EQEs)and operational stabilities of deep-blue(<460 nm)PeLEDs still lag far behind their red and green counterparts.Herein,a rapid crystallization method based on hot-antisolvent bathing is proposed for realization of deep-blue PeLEDs.By promoting immediate removal of the precursor solvent from the wet perovskite films,development of the quasi-two-dimensional(2D)Ruddlesden–Popper perovskite(2D-RPP)crystals with n values>3 is hampered completely,so that phase-pure 2D-RPP films with bandgaps suitable for deep-blue PeLEDs can be obtained successfully.The uniquely developed rapid crystallization method also enables formation of randomly oriented 2D-RPP crystals,thereby improving the transfer and transport kinetics of the charge carriers.Thus,high-performance deep-blue PeLEDs emitting at 437 nm with a peak EQE of 0.63%are successfully demonstrated.The color coordinates are confirmed to be(0.165,0.044),which match well with the Rec.2020 standard blue gamut and have excellent spectral stability.Gyumin Jang Hyowon Han Sunihl Ma Junwoo Lee Chan Uk Lee Wooyong Jeong Jaehyun Son Dongki Cho Ji-Hee Kim Cheolmin Park Jooho Moon 2023Advanced Photonics2023,5,1:1
