1Electro-mechanically controlled assembly of reconfigurable 3D mesostructures and electronic devices based on dielectric elastomer platforms显示文摘The manufacture of 3D mesostructures is receiving rapidly increasing attention,because of the fundamental significance and practical applications across wide-ranging areas.The recently developed approach of buckling-guided assembly allows deterministic formation of complex 3D mesostructures in a broad set of functional materials;with feature sizes spanning nanoscale to centimeter-scale.Previous studies mostly exploited mechanically controlled assembly platforms using elastomer substrates;which limits the capabilities to achieve on-demand local assembly;and to reshape assembled mesostructures into distinct 3D configurations.This work introduces a set of design concepts and assembly strategies to utilize dielectric elastomer actuators as powerful platforms for the electro-mechanically controlled 3D assembly.Capabilities of sequential-local loading with desired strain distributions allow access to precisely tailored 3D mesostructures that can be reshaped into distinct geometries,as demonstrated by experimental and theoretical studies of?30 examples.A reconfigurable inductive-capacitive radio-frequency circuit consisting of morphable 3D capacitors serves as an application example.Wenbo Pang Xu Cheng Haojie Zhao Xiaogang Guo Ziyao Ji Guorui Li Yiming Liang Zhaoguo Xue Honglie Song Fan Zhang Zheng Xu Lei Sang Wen Huang Tiefeng Li Yihui Zhang 2020National Science Review2020,7,2:8
2Five trends of education and technology in a sustainable future显示文摘Quality education is one of the pillars in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.This overall goal can be connected to some general trends affecting education in the information age.We argue that education is key to the future quality of human life and the sustainability of the world.Generally,education is being transformed in both formal and informal learning contexts by new digital technologies.Overall,some of these major innovations and how they are changing education can be summarized into the following aspects:1)our educational aims and objectives;2)educational ecologies and contexts of learning;3)the processes of learning;4)the processes of teaching;and 5)educational governance and policy.Meanwhile,we note some of the potential risks and downsides of these technology trends.From the sustainable perspective,our review points to a great potential for educational reform,but it can only be achieved if we are willing to rethink and even abandon some of our traditional ways of doing things in education.Nicholas C.Burbules Guorui Fan Philip Repp 2020Geography and Sustainability2020,1,2:3
3Tumor shrinkage by cyclopamine tartrate through inhibiting hedgehog signaling显示文摘The link of hedgehog (Hh) signaling activation to human cancer and synthesis of a variety of Hh signaling inhibitors raise great expectation that inhibiting Hh signaling may be effective in human cancer treatment. Cyclopamine (Cyc), an alkaloid from the Veratrum plant, is a specific natural product inhibitor of the Hh pathway that acts by targeting smoothened (SMO) protein. However, its poor solubility, acid sensitivity, and weak potency relative to other Hh antagonists prevent the clinical development of Cyc as a therapeutic agent. Here, we report properties of cyclopamine tartrate salt (CycT) and its activities in Hh signaling-mediated cancer in vitro and in vivo. Unlike Cyc, CycT is water soluble (5-10 mg/mL). The median lethal dose (LD50) of CycT was 62.5 mg/kg body weight compared to 43.5 mg/kg for Cyc, and the plasma half-life (T1/2) of CycT was not significantly different from that of Cyc. We showed that CycT had a higher inhibitory activity for Hh signaling-dependent motor neuron differentiation than did Cyc (IC50 = 50 nmol/L for CycT vs. 300 nmol/L for Cyc). We also tested the antitumor effectiveness of these Hh inhibitors using two mouse models of basal cell carcinomas (K14cre:Ptch1neo/neo and K14cre:SmoM2YFP). After topical application of CycT or Cyc daily for 21 days, we found that all CycT-treated mice had tumor shrinkage and decreased expression of Hh target genes. 4Post-PISA Education Reforms in China:Policy Response Beyond the Digital Governance of PISA显示文摘Purpose:This study analyzes the Programme for International Student Assessment(PISA)data,revealing that the test itself reflects China’s educational problems as well as the resultant effect of digital governance.Examining the root cause of these problems,this study demonstrates that the education reforms implemented in response to the PISA have gone beyond digital governance.Design/Approach/Methods:This study conducts a text analysis of materials related to China’s education system,including PISA data and analytical reports published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development since 2009.Findings:Reflected by PISA data,the main problems facing China’s educational sector include the overburdening of students at school,emphasis on knowledge acquisition during the teaching process,and the prevalence of extracurricular tuition.The digital governance effect triggered by PISA is highly consistent with China’s constant and excessive pursuit of efficiency,emphasis on scores,and the rate of students entering higher level schools.In the new era,China actively reflected on the disadvantages of digital governance before implementing a series of education reforms that go beyond it.Originality/Value:This study is based on China’s cultural background and the latest contexts.It examines the impact of the large-scale international assessment on China’s education governance and discusses the impact of digital governance on the education reforms in other countries.The implementation of China’s post-PISA education reforms demonstrates that different countries can implement rational education reforms based on their own cultural traditions and social realities as well as by referencing and using PISA data with care and prudence.Wenjie Yang Guorui Fan 2019ECNU Review of Education2019,2,3:2
5Refreshing China’s Labor Education in the New Era: Policy Review on Education Through Physical Labor显示文摘Purpose:This study reviews China’s labor education theories and policies to reveal the main objectives,contents,and methods of the new era,as well as analyzes future development in labor education.Design/Approach/Methods:In addition to reviewing the relevant labor education theories,this study examines China’s labor education policies using historical documents and current policy texts.Marxist and traditional approaches to labor education,as well as the historical development of education in China,provide the macroscopic backdrop of this study’s analysis of the persistence and innovativeness of China’s labor education policies.Findings:China’s labor education policy has placed labor education on the same level as that in morality,intellect,sports,and aesthetics,thereby endowing labor education with new meaning.Labor education seeks to cultivate workers with all-round physical and mental development.Becoming more varied over time,labor education now involves the cultivation of skills,technological capacities,creative thinking,labor habits,and emotional development.Approaches and methods include formal programs and teaching,education in daily life at home and school,as well as practical activities outside of school.Originality/Value:This study identifies the meaning of labor education in different eras and analyzes the objectives,contents,and methods of China’s current policies on labor education,as well as its future developmental trends.In doing so,this study provides a useful reference for the implementation of labor education in elementary and middle schools.Guorui Fan Jiaxin Zou 2020ECNU Review of Education2020,3,1:1
6Simulation research and application on response characteristics of detecting water-filled goaf by transient electromagnetic method显示文摘Water inrush disasters poses a great threat to the safe exploitation of coal resources.To solve this problem,the transient electromagnetic method(TEM)was proposed to accurately detect the water accumulation in the goaf.The electromagnetic response characteristics of diferent water-flled goaves were studied by electromagnetic feld theory,numerical simulation and feld verifcation.Through the models of 100%water accumulation,50%water accumulation,0%water accumulation,100%water accumulation with collapsed rock,50%water accumulation with collapsed rock and 0%water accumulation with collapsed rock goaf,the characteristics of induced voltage attenuation curves were studied.Meanwhile,the relationship between the attenuation voltage value and area of the transmitting coil,the depth of the goaf,the background resistivity,and the delay time were also simulated.The results illustrate that the attenuation curve of induced voltage presented a regular exponential decay form in the 0%water accumulation model but existed abnormal exaltation for voltage in water-flled model.Through the linear ftting curve,it can be seen that the abnormal intensity of the induced voltage becomes stronger as the distance between the measuring point and the center of the target decrement.Moreover,the abnormal amplitude of the induced voltage increases with the rise of the water accumulation and collapsed rock will weakly reduce the low-resistivity anomalous efect on the water-accumulated goaf.In addition,the response value of the attenuation voltage increased as the area of the transmitting coil increases,but decreased with increasing delay time and increasing background resistivity and depth of the target body.The feld detection results of the Majiliang coal mine also confrmed the theoretical analysis and the numerical simulation.Tingye Qi Fan Zhang Xiaoming Pei Guorui Feng Huiru Wei 2022International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2022,9,2:0
7A preliminary study on pollution characteristics of surfactant substances in fine particles in the Beibu Gulf Region of China显示文摘The pollution characteristics of surfactant substances in fine particles(PM_(2.5))in spring were studied in the Beibu Gulf Region of China,68 samples of PM_(2.5)were collected at Weizhou Island in Beihai City from March 12 to April 17,2015.The Anionic Surfactant Substances(ASS)and Cationic Surfactant Substances(CSS)in the samples were analyzed using Byethyl Violet Spectrophotometry and Disulfide Blue Spectrophotometry,respectively.Combined with the data from backward trajectory simulation,the effects of air pollutants from remote transport on the pollution characteristics of surfactant substances in PM_(2.5)in the Beibu Gulf Region were analyzed and discussed.The results showed that the daily mean concentrations of ASS and CSS in spring in the Beibu Gulf Region were 165.20 pmol/m^(3)and 8.05 pmol/m^(3),and the variation ranges were 23.21–452.55 pmol/m^(3)and 0.65–31.31 pmol/m^(3),accounting for 1.82‰±1.65‰and 0.12‰±0.11‰of the mass concentration of PM_(2.5),respectively.These concentrations were lower than those in comparable regions around the world.There was no clear correlation between the concentrations of ASS and CSS in PM_(2.5)and the mass concentrations of PM_(2.5).Tourism and air transport had a positive contribution on the concentrations of ASS.The concentration of surfactant substances in PM_(2.5)was significantly impacted by wind speed and wind direction.Atmospheric temperature,air pressure and precipitation had little effect on the concentrations of surfactant substances.Surfactant substances in PM_(2.5)significantly impacted visibility.Results also showed that the main sources of surfactant substances were from the southern China and Southeast Asia.Zhengzheng Zhang Hong Li Hongyan Liu Yingchen Bai Jinjuan Li Guorui Zhi Yanting Yu Wenjun Li Hao Zhang Fan Meng 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:0

9A boronic acid conjugation integrates antitumor drugs into albumin-binding prodrugs-based nanoparticles with robust efficiency for cancer therapy显示文摘Despite great therapeutic effect of Abraxane®,complex preparation technology and unfavorable pharmacokinetics still restricted the clinical application of albumin-based paclitaxel(PTX)nanoparticles(NPs).Herein,we reported that an albumin-binding prodrug,phenylboronic acid-conjugated PTX(P-PTX),can form the uniform NPs with the diameters around 100 nm with the help of albumin via simple one-step nano-precipitation method.The albumin-based nanomedicines were stabilized by the integration of a single boronic acid with PTX due to the increased affinity based on multiple intermolecular interactions.We found that albumin-based P-PTX NPs exhibited superior colloidal stability over albumin-based PTX NPs through one-step nanoprecipitation approach,achieving longer in vivo circulation time and higher concentration in tumor than those of the marketed Abraxane®.Furthermore,the albumin-based P-PTX NPs with great stability and enhanced intratumoral enrichment,increased the maximum tolerated dose of PTX,remarkably suppressed the growth of breast tumor and lung metastasis,prolonged survival of melanoma tumors-bearing mice.Such a convenient and effective system gains an insight into the impact of phenylboronic acid group on the albumin-based PTX NPs,provides potent strategy for the rational design of albumin-based antitumor nanomedicines.Weiyue Ban Qiuhua Luo Chengda Yan Xiaoying Fan Guorui Zhu Maosheng Cheng Zhonggui He Mengchi Sun Jin Sun 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:0
