Responses of plant community to the linkages in plant-soil C:N:P stoichiometry during secondary succession of abandoned farmlands,China显示文摘Succession is one of the central themes of ecology;however, the relationship between aboveground plant communities and underground soils during secondary succession remains unclear. In this study,we investigated the composition of plant community,plant-soil C:N:P stoichiometry and their relationships during secondary succession after the abandonment of farmlands for 0,10,20,30,40 and 50 a in China,2016.Results showed that the composition of plant communities was most diverse in the farmlands after secondary succession for 20 and 50 a.Soil organic carbon and total nitrogen contents slightly decreased after secondary succession for 30 a,but both were significantly higher than those of control farmland(31.21%-139.10%and 24.24%-121.21%,respectively).Moreover,C:N ratios of soil and microbe greatly contributed to the changes in plant community composition during secondary succession of abandoned farmlands, explaining 35.70%of the total variation.Particularly, soil C:N ratio was significantly and positively related with the Shannon-Wiener index. This study provides the evidence of synchronous evolution between plant community and soil during secondary succession and C:N ratio is an important linkage between them. | LIU Weichao FU Shuyue YAN Shengji REN Chengjie WU Shaojun DENG Jian LI Boyong HAN Xinhui YANG Gaihe | 2020 | Journal of Arid Land2020,12,2: | 5
Allotransplantation of adult spinal cord tissues after complete transected spinal cord injury: long-term survival and functional recovery in canines显示文摘Spinal cord injury(SCI), especially complete transected SCI, leads to loss of cells and extracellular matrix and functional impairments. In a previous study, we transplanted adult spinal cord tissues(aSCTs) to replace lost tissues and facilitate recovery in a rat SCI model. However, rodents display considerable differences from human patients in the scale, anatomy and functions of spinal cord systems, and responses after injury. Thus, use of a large animal SCI model is required to examine the repair efficiency of potential therapeutic approaches. In this study, we transplanted allogenic aSCTs from adult dogs to the lesion area of canines after complete transection of the thoracic spinal cord, and investigated the long-term cell survival and functional recovery. To enhance repair efficiency, a growth factor cocktail was added during aSCT transplantation, providing a favorable microenvironment. The results showed that transplantation of a SCTs, in particular with the addition of growth factors, significantly improves locomotor function restoration and increases the number of neurofilament-, microtubule-associated protein2-, 5-hydroxytryptamine-, choline acetyltransferase-and tyrosine hydroxylase-positive neurons in the lesion area at 6 months post-surgery. In addition, we demonstrated that donor neurons in a SCTs can survive for a long period after transplantation. This study showed for the first time that transplanting aSCTs combined with growth factor supplementation facilitates reconstruction of injured spinal cords, and consequently promotes long lasting motor function recovery in a large animal complete transected SCI model, and therefore could be considered as a possible therapeutic strategy in humans. | He Shen Shuyu Wu Xi Chen Bai Xu Dezun Ma Yannan Zhao Yan Zhuang Bing Chen Xianglin Hou Jiayin Li Yudong Cao Xianyong Fu Jun Tan Wen Yin Juan Li Li Meng Ya Shi Zhifeng Xiao Xingjun Jiang Jianwu Dai | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,12: | 3

Assembly and packing models of [Ti_(6)Co_(12)] ring based on the titanium-capped cobalt clathrochelates显示文摘In this work,titanium-capped cobalt clathrochelates have been applied as secondary building units(SBUs) fo r the construction of supramolecular rings. Two heterometallic wheel-like [Ti_(6) Co_(12)] complexes based on cobalt clathrochelates,[C_(6)H_(15)N_(4)]_(2)[TiCo_(2)(μ_(2)-Oipr)(Oipr)_(2)(Dmg)_(3)]_(6)(2,Dmg=dimethy[glyoxime) and H_(6)[TiCo_(2)(μ_(2)-Oipr)(Oipr)_(2)(Dmg)_(3)]_(6)(3),have been successfully synthesized and characterized. The supramolecular stacking modes of these wheels are largely dependent on the applied synthetic conditions, which further impact their gas adsorption properties. | Hao Fu Shuyu Zhou Xi Fan Lei Zhang Jian Zhang | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,2: | 1

Cardiovascular toxicity with CTLA-4 inhibitors in cancer patients:A meta-analysis显示文摘Background:With the emergence of cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated protein-4(CTLA-4)inhibitors,the outcomes of patients with malignant tumors have improved significantly. However, the incidence of cardiovascular adverse events has also increased, which can affect tumor treatment. In this study,we evaluated the incidence and severity of adverse cardiovascular events caused by CTLA-4 inhibitors by analyzing reported trials that involved CTLA-4 inhibitor therapy. Methods:Randomized clinical trials published in English from January 1,2013,to November 30,2022,were searched using the Cochrane Library and PubMed databases. All included trials examined all grade and grades 3–5 cardiac and vascular adverse events. These involved comparisons of CTLA-4 inhibitors to placebo,CTLA-4 inhibitors plus chemotherapy to chemotherapy alone,CTLA-4 inhibitors combined with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors to PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors alone, and CTLA-4 inhibitors plus target agent to PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors plus target agent. The odds ratio(OR)and corresponding 95%confidence intervals(CIs)were calculated using the Mantel-Haenszel method.Results:Overall,20 trials were included.CTLA-4 inhibitors significantly increased the incidence of all-grade cardiovascular toxicity(OR=1.33,95%CI:1.00–1.75,p=0.05).The incidence of all-grade cardiovascular toxicity increased in malignant tumor patients who received single-agent CTLA-4 inhibitors(OR=1.73,95%CI:1.13–2.65,p=0.01),as well as the incidence rate of grades 3–5 cardiovascular adverse events(OR=2.00,95%CI:1.08–3.70,p=0.03).Compared with the non-CTLA-4 inhibitor group,CTLA-4 inhibitors plus chemotherapy,PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors,or target agent did not significantly affect the incidence of cardiac and vascular toxicity. The incidence of grades 3–5 cardiac failure, hypertension, pericardial effusion, myocarditis, and atrial fibrillation were much higher among patients exposed to CTLA-4 inhibitor, but the data were not statistically significant. Conclusion:Our findings suggest that the incidence rate of all cardiovascular toxicity and severe cardiovascular toxicity increased in patients who were administered CTLA-4 inhibitors. In addition, the risk of serious cardiovascular toxic events was independent of the type of adverse event. From these results, physicians should assess the benefits and risks of CTLA-4 inhibitors when treating malignancies. | Huiyi Liu Lu Fu Shuyu Jin Xingdong Ye Yanlin Chen Sijia Pu Yumei Xue | 2024 | Cancer Innovation2024,3,3: | 0
Potential wells for classical acoustic waves显示文摘The acceleration theorem of Bloch waves is utilized to construct random potential wells for classical acoustic waves in systems composed of alternating‘cavities’and‘couplers’.One prominent advantage of this method is these‘cavities’and‘couplers’are all monolayer structures. It allows forming more compact classical potential wells, which leads to the miniaturization of acoustic devices. We systematically investigate properties of harmonic, tangent, hyperbolic function, and square classical potential wells in quasi-periodic superlattices. Results show these classical potential wells are analogues of quantum potential wells. Thus some technologies and concepts in quantum potential well fields may be generalized to classical acoustic wave fields. In addition, some abnormal cases regarding forming classical potential wells are also found. | CHEN Shi LIN ShuYu MO RunYang FU ZhiQiang | 2014 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,1: | 0
Proton pitch angle distributions in the Martian induced magnetosphere: A survey of Tianwen-1 Mars Ion and Neutral Particle Analyzer observations显示文摘The pitch angle distributions of ions and electrons can be affected by various processes;thus, they can serve as an important indicator of the physical mechanisms driving the dynamics of space plasmas. From observations from the Mars Ion and Neutral Particle Analyzer onboard the Tianwen-1 orbiter,we calculated the pitch angle distributions of protons in the Martian induced magnetosphere by using information from the magnetohydrodynamically simulated magnetic field, and we statistically analyzed the spatial occurrence pattern of different types of pitch angle distributions.Even though no symmetrical features were seen in the dataset,we found the dominance of the field-aligned distribution type over the energy range from 188 to 6232 eV.Maps of the occurrence rate showed the preferential presence of a trapped-like distribution at the lower altitudes of the surveyed nightside region.Although our results are more or less restricted by the adopted magnetic field, they indicate the complexity of the near-Mars proton pitch angle distributions and infer the possibility of wave–particle interactions in the Martian induced magnetosphere. | TaiFeng Jin BinBin Ni LingGao Kong AiBing Zhang Lei Li Song Fu Xing Cao WenYa Li BinBin Tang LiangHai Xie YiTeng Zhang ShuYue Pang XiaoTong Yun HengLe Du FuHao Qiao LiMin Wang JiJie Ma | 2023 | Earth and Planetary Physics2023,7,5: | 0
