| 3 | Can optical diagnosis of small colon polyps be accurate? Comparing standard scope without narrow banding to high definition scope with narrow banding显示文摘AIM: To study the accuracy of using high definition(HD) scope with narrow band imaging(NBI) vs standard white light colonoscope without NBI(ST), to predict the histology of the colon polyps, particularly those < 1 cm.METHODS: A total of 147 African Americans patients who were referred to Howard University Hospital for screening or, diagnostic or follow up colonoscopy, during a 12-mo period in 2012 were prospectively recruited. Some patients had multiple polyps and total number of polyps was 179. Their colonoscopies were performed by 3 experienced endoscopists who determined the size and stated whether the polyps being removed were hyperplastic or adenomatous polyps using standard colonoscopes or high definition colonoscopes with NBI. The histopathologic diagnosis was reported by pathologists as part of routine care. RESULTS: Of participants in the study, 55(37%) were male and median(interquartile range) of age was 56(19-80). Demographic, clinical characteristics, past medical history of patients, and the data obtained by two instruments were not significantly different and two methods detected similar number of polyps. In ST scope 89% of polyps were < 1 cm vs 87% in HD scope(P = 0.7). The ST scope had a positive predictive value(PPV) and positive likelihood ratio(PLR) of 86% and 4.0 for adenoma compared to 74% and 2.6 for HD scope. There was a trend of higher sensitivity for HD scope(68%) compare to ST scope(53%) with almost the same specificity. The ST scope had a PPV and PLR of 38% and 1.8 for hyperplastic polyp(HPP) compared to 42% and 2.2 for HD scope. The sensitivity and specificity of two instruments for HPP diagnosis were similar.CONCLUSION: Our results indicated that HD scope was more sensitive in diagnosis of adenoma than ST scope. Clinical diagnosis of HPP with either scope is less accurate compared to adenoma. Colonoscopy diagnosis is not yet fully matched with pathologic diagnosis of colon polyp. | 7 | Intelligent hybrid power generation system using new hybrid fuzzy-neural for photovoltaic system and RBFNSM for wind turbine in the grid connected mode显示文摘Photovoltaic(PV)generation is growing increasingly fast as a renewable energy source.Nevertheless,the drawback of the PV system is intermittent because of depending on weather conditions.Therefore,the wind power can be considered to assist for a stable and reliable output from the PV generation system for loads and improve the dynamic performance of the whole generation system in the grid connected mode.In this paper,a novel topology of an intelligent hybrid generation system with PV and wind turbine is presented.In order to capture the maximum power,a hybrid fuzzy-neural maximum power point tracking(MPPT)method is applied in the PV system.The average tracking efficiency of the hybrid fuzzy-neural is incremented by approximately two percentage points in comparison with the conventional methods.The pitch angle of the wind turbine is controlled by radial basis function network-sliding mode(RBFNSM).Different conditions are represented in simulation results that compare the real power values with those of the presented methods.The obtained results verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method which has the advantages of robustness,fast response and good performance.Detailed mathematical model and a control approach of a three-phase grid-connected intelligent hybrid system have been proposed using Matlab/Simulink. | Alireza REZVANI Ali ESMAEILY Hasan ETAATI Mohammad MOHAMMADINODOUSHAN | 2019 | Frontiers in Energy2019,13,1: | 1 |
| 8 | Microstructural Evolution of NiTi47.7Cu6.3 Alloy during Hot Deformation显示文摘In the present work,the hot workability and microstructural evolution of NiTi47.7Cu6.3(at.%) shape memory alloy were investigated by using wedge-rolling test.The wedge specimens were subjected to hot rolling at the temperatures of 700-1000 C.The microstructural evolutions at the strains of 0.05,0.15,0.2,0.25 and 0.3 were then characterized by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) as well as energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS) technique.Depending on the deformation temperature and strain,the dynamic recrystallization(DRX) could occur,leading to the refining of the microstructure.At low temperatures of 700 and 800 C,there was no sign of DRX at all studied strains.At these temperatures,the formed fine needle-like precipitates pinned the grain boundaries and prevented them from bulging/migration.By contrast,at higher temperatures of 900 and 1000 C,the DRX took place at the critical strains lower than 0.25 and 0.15,respectively.However,at higher temperatures,strain-induced-boundary-migration(SIBM) mechanism resulted in the formation of DRX grains. | Amir Etaati Kamran Dehghani | 2011 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2011,27,10: | 0 |
