2Tribological Properties of Nanostructured Al/Al_(12)(Fe,V)_3Si Alloys显示文摘Tribological behavior of nanostructured pure Al and Al–Al12(Fe,V)3Si alloys containing 27(FVS0812) and 37(FVS1212) vol% of Al12(Fe,V)3Si precipitates was investigated. All samples were prepared using mechanical alloying followed by hot pressing. Wear tests were performed at room temperature using a pin-on-disk machine. Results showed that the presence of Al12(Fe,V)3Si precipitates increases the wear resistance of nanostructured Al, and the wear resistance increases with increasing the Al12(Fe,V)3Si content. Scanning electron microscopy images of worn surfaces and wear debris demonstrated that abrasion and adhesion are the governing wear mechanisms for the nanostructured FVS0812 alloy at 2 and 5 N normal loads, whereas for the nanostructured FVS1212 alloy, the dominant wear mechanism is abrasion at these loads. A mechanically mixed layer(MML) containing Fe and O was formed on the worn surfaces of FVS0812 and FVS1212 samples at 10 N normal load. Formation and delamination of MML controls the wear behavior of these samples at the normal load of 10 N. 3Interaction analysis between slenderness ratio and resin content on mechanical properties of particleboard显示文摘The interaction between particle size and resin content is one of the most important structural parameters that can influence the accuracy of predictions about wood-composite properties. We developed three kinds of equation (linear, quadratic, and exponential) for each mechanical property of particleboard based on slenderness ratio and resin content at a constant density (0.7g cm -3 ). Results from SHAZAM software (version 9) suggested that the quadratic function was not significant, but the linear and exponential functions were significant. The interaction between particle size and resin content was analyzed by Maple 9 software. The results indicated that an exponential function can better describe the simultaneous effect of slenderness and resin content than a linear equation. Under constant resin content, particles with higher slenderness ratios increased more in modulus of rupture (MOR) and modulus of elasticity (MOE) than did particles with lower slenderness ratios. 4Use of amino silane coupling agent to improve physical and mechanical properties of UF-bonded wheat straw(Triticum aestivum L.) poplar wood particleboard显示文摘We evaluated the potential use of amino silane coupling agent(Si NH) to improve physical and mechanical properties of UF-bonded wheat straw(Triticum aestivum L.) poplar wood particleboard. We examined the effects of varied content of silane coupling agent content and ratios of straw to poplar wood particles on particleboard properties. The ratios of straw to poplar wood particles were100:0, 85:15, 70:30 and 55:45. Silane coupling agent content was tested at three levels, 0, 5 and 10 %. The experimental panels were tested for their mechanical strength, including modulus of elasticity(MOE), modulus of rupture(MOR), internal bonding(IB) and physical properties according to procedures specified in DIN 68763(Chipboard for special purposes in building construction:concepts, requirements, testing, 1982–03, 1982). All board properties were improved by the addition of silane coupling agent. 8Fabrication and characterization of nanocrystalline Al/Al_(12)(Fe,V)_3Si alloys by consolidation of mechanically alloyed powders显示文摘The aim of this study was to produce bulk nanocrystalline Al/Al_(12)(Fe,V)_3Si alloys by mechanical alloying(MA) and subsequent hot pressing(HP) of elemental powders.A nanostructured Al-based solid solution was formed by MA of elemental powders for 60 h.After HP of the as-milled powders at 550℃ for 20 min,the Al_(12)(Fe,V)_3Si phase was precipitated in a nanocrystalline Al matrix.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) images of the bulk samples represented a homogeneous and uniform microstructure that was superior to those previously obtained by rapid solidification-powder metallurgy(RS-PM).Nanostructured Al-8.5Fe-1.3V-1.7Si and Al-11.6Fe-1.3V-2.3Si alloys exhibited high HV hardness values of^205 and ~254,respectively,which are significantly higher than those reported for the RS-PM counterparts.Hamid Ashrafi Rahmatollah Emadi Mohammad Hosein Enayati 2014International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2014,21,7:2
