1A Novel Hybrid Data Clustering Algorithm Based on Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm and K-Means显示文摘To improve the performance of K-means clustering algorithm, this paper presents a new hybrid approach of Enhanced artificial bee colony algorithm and Kmeans(EABCK). In EABCK, the original artificial bee colony algorithm(called ABC) is enhanced by a new mutation operation and guided by the global best solution(called EABC). Then, the best solution is updated by Kmeans in each iteration for data clustering. In the experiments, a set of benchmark functions was used to evaluate the performance of EABC with other comparative ABC variants. To evaluate the performance of EABCK on data clustering, eleven benchmark datasets were utilized. 3Microstructure and strength features of warm and ice-rich frozen soil treated with high-performance cements显示文摘Warm and ice-rich frozen soil(WIRFS) exhibits lower shear strength due to the weak binding forces between soil particles and ice crystals. To enhance the strength of WIRFS, frozen soil was treated separately with Portland, Phosphate, Sulphoaluminate, Portland-Phosphate and PortlandSulphoaluminate cements. After the samples were cured under -1.0°C for 7 days, the microscopic pore distribution characteristics and the macro-mechanical properties of WIRFS were investigated using mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and unconfined compressive strength(UCS) tests. To quantitatively analyze the laws of pore-size transformation and the variation of Hausdorff volumetric fractal dimensions for pre-and post-treated WIRFS, the CURVEEXTRACT and Image-Pro Plus(IPP) image analysis system has been developed for analysing SEM images of the soil samples. Statistics of the pore-area dimension and pore-volume dimension were calculated. The results reveal that the cement-based treatment of WIRFS can improve the cementation fill of soil pores and the bond forces between soil particles. There is an evident correlation between the microstructure characteristics and the mechanical properties of the treated WIRFS. As the fractal dimensions of pore-area decrease, the unconfined compressive strength of cement-treated WIRFS increases significantly. 4Adaptive Multi-layer Particle Swarm Optimization with Neighborhood Search显示文摘Particle swarm optimization(PSO) has shown a good performance on solving global optimization problems. Traditional PSO has two main drawbacks of premature convergence and low convergence speed, especially on complex problems. This paper presents a new approach called Adaptive multi-layer particle swarm optimization with neighborhood search(AMPSONS), where the traditional PSO is improved by employing an adaptive multi-layer search and neighborhood search strategy to achieve a trade-off between exploitation and exploration abilities. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed AMPSONS algorithm, the performance of AMPSONS is compared with five other PSO family algorithms,namely, CLPSO, DNLPSO, DNSPSO, global MLPSO and local MLPSO on a set of benchmark functions. 5Thiocyanate-induced labilization of schwertmannite: Impacts and mechanisms显示文摘Schwertmannite is an amorphous iron(III)-oxyhydroxysulfate that forms in acid mine drainage(AMD) environments. The characteristic of high heavy metal adsorption capability makes schwertmannite a potentially useful, environmentally friendly material in wastewater treatment. Unstable schwertmannite is prone to recrystallization.Understanding the mechanisms that induce schwertmannite labilization and affect its capacity to remove heavy metals are of great environmental and geochemical significance.Thiocyanate(SCNˉ) is a hazardous pseudohalide that is also normally found in AMD.However, little is known about the impact of Fe(III)-binding ligand SCNˉ on schwertmannite stability and its subsequent capacity to bind trace elements. Here, we investigated the adsorption of SCNˉ on schwertmannite and subsequent mineral transformation to characterize this little-known process. The appearance of Fe2+indicated that the interactions between schwertmannite and SCNˉ may involve complexation and reduction reactions. Results showed that the majority of the adsorbed-SCNˉ was immobilized on schwertmannite during the 60-days transformation. The transformation rates of schwertmannite increased with increasing concentrations of SCNˉ. Goethite was detected as the dominant transformation product with or without SCNˉ. The mechanisms of SCNˉ-promoted dissolution of schwertmannite can be described as follows:(1) formation of Fe(III)–NCS complexes on the schwertmannite surface and in solution, a process which increases the reactivity of solid phase Fe(III);(2) the extraction of Fe(III) from schwertmannite by SCNˉ and subsequent schwertmannite dissolution; and(3) the formation of secondary minerals from extracted Fe(III). 8Fe(Ⅱ)-mediated transformation of schwertmannite associated with calcium from acid mine drainage treatment显示文摘Schwertmannite is an important Fe(Ⅲ)-oxyhydroxysulfate in acid mine drainage (AMD) polluted areas and its stability depends on surrounding environmental factors and previously bound elements.The treatment and neutralization of AMD normally involve the use of lime,which leads to the discharge of abundant Ca in the mining area.Such an environmental disturbance brings up an important and less considered problem of how the reductive transformation of schwertmannite associated with coexisting Ca occurred.Here,the Fe(Ⅱ)-mediated transformation of Ca-adsorbed schwertmannite and subsequent Ca repartitioning behaviors were investigated.Results showed that adsorbed Ca had a weak inhibitory effect on Fe(Ⅱ)-mediated schwertmannite transformation.Release of SO_(4)2-and SEM images both indicated that transformation rates of schwertmannite decreased under the influence of adsorbed Ca.XRD patterns indicated that adsorbed Ca altered schwertmannite transformation pathways and product compositions upon treatment with 0.4 mmol/L Fe(Ⅱ).The end products of Sch notably contained both goethite and lepidocrocite;however,transformation products of SchCa only contained goethite all along.Approximately 33.5%of the surface adsorbed-Ca was released into solution within 6 hr after Fe(Ⅱ) injection.Aqueous Ca behaved in a“first release and then im-mobilization”manner,which indicated dissolution and secondary mineralization drove Ca migration during the Fe(Ⅱ)-mediated transformation of SchCa.Adsorbed Ca blocked the surface sites for subsequent Fe(Ⅱ) adsorption,limited the Fe(Ⅱ)-Fe(Ⅲ) ETAE,and decreased the transformation rates.This work sheds light on the complex geochemical behavior of schwertmannite under the influences of environmental perturbations in AMD environments.Cong Fan Chuling Guo Wei Chen Guining Lu Yu Shen Zhi Dang 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,4:1

10Solidification microstructure evolution and its correlations with mechanical properties and damping capacities of Mg-Al-based alloy fabricated using wire and arc additive manufacturing显示文摘Magnesium(Mg)alloys,as the lightest metal structural material with good damping capacities,have im-portant application prospects in realizing structural lightweight and vibration reduction.However,their engineering application is greatly limited by poor plastic formability.Wire and arc additive manufactur-ing(WAAM)provides a potential approach for fabricating large-scale Mg alloy components with high manufacturing flexibility.In this study,the evolution of the solidification microstructure of a WAAM-processed Mg-Al-based alloy was quantitatively analyzed based on the analytical models;then,the cor-relations between the solidification microstructure and mechanical properties/damping capacities were investigated.The results revealed that the WAAM-processed Mg-Al-based alloy with an equiaxed-grain-dominated microstructure displayed a simultaneous enhancement in mechanical properties and damping capacities compared to those of the cast Mg-Al-based alloy.The good combination of mechanical prop-erties and damping capacities are mainly attributed to the weakened basal texture with a relatively high Schmid factor for basalslip,the twinning-induced plasticity(TWIP)effect associated with the profuse{10-12}tensile twinning,and the relatively high dislocation density caused by the thermal stress during the WAAM process.Zihong Wang Jingfeng Wang Xin Lin Nan Kang Tianchi Zhang Yanfang Wang Li Wang Cong Dang Weidong Huang 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,13:0
11Hepatitis B vaccination status and associated factors among health science students显示文摘Objective:To evaluate hepatitis B virus(HBV)vaccine coverage and its associated factors among health science students in Vietnam.Methods:This cross-sectional study involving 459 health science students at Tra Vinh University was conducted between April and June 2022.Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with items on sociodemographic characteristics,knowledge and attitude about HBV,and vaccination status.A multivariable logistic regression model was used to explore the factors associated with vaccination status.Results:The majority of participants were female(65.8%)and enrolled at the medical school(56.2%).A total of 30.3%participants received the full dose of the HBV vaccine.The percentages of participants with sufficient knowledge and positive attitudes toward HBV infection were 75.2%and 43.4%,respectively.Vaccination was 11.8 times higher in sixth-year medical students than any healthcare student in their first-year[adjusted odds ratio(aOR)11.8,95%CI 3.1-45.1,P<0.001],and the coverage was also significant higher in those who had sufficient knowledge(aOR 2.0,95%CI 1.1-3.9,P<0.05)and positive attitudes(aOR 3.0,95%CI 1.9-4.8,P<0.05)than in their counterparts.Conclusions:The majority of students were not fully vaccinated against HBV,indicating they were vulnerable to the disease.Administrators and authorities should reinforce health education messages aimed at encouraging all students to get vaccinated with the HBV vaccine,enhance their awareness and knowledge of HBV,and improve attitudes toward HBV infection prevention.Binh Thanh Nguyen Lan Y Vo Tap Van Nguyen Minh Cong Vo Tinh Dang Pham Han Thi Ngoc Nguyen Lynda Boyer-Chu Giao Huynh 2023Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2023,16,5:0
12Nucleolus localization of SpyCas9 affects its stability and interferes with host protein translation in mammalian cells显示文摘The CRISPR/Cas9 system,originally derived from the prokaryotic adaptive immune system,has been developed as efficient genome editing tools.It enables precise gene manipulation on chromosomal DNA through the specific binding of programmable sgRNA to target DNA,and the Cas9 protein,which has endonuclease activity,will cut a double strand break at specific locus.However,Cas9 is a foreign protein in mammalian cells,and the potential risks associated with its introduction into mammalian cells are not fully understood.In this study,we performed pull-down and mass spectrometry(MS)analysis of Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9(SpyCas9)interacting proteins in HEK293T cells and showed that the majority of Cas9-associated proteins identified by MS were localized in the nucleolus.Interestingly,we further discovered that the Cas9 protein contains a sequence encoding a nucleolus detention signal(NoDS).Compared with wild-type(WT)Cas9,NoDS-mutated variants of Cas9(mCas9)are less stable,although their gene editing activity is minimally affected.Overexpression of WT Cas9,but not mCas9,causes general effects on transcription and protein translation in the host cell.Overall,identification of NoDS in Cas9 will improve the understanding of Cas9's biological function in vivo,and the removal of NoDS in Cas9 may enhance its safety for future clinical use.Renke Tan Wenhao Du Yiyang Liu Xiaoji Cong Meirong Bai Chenxiao Jiang Zengxia Li Minjia Tan Dengke K.Ma Qiang Huang Wei Jiang Yongjun Dang 2022Genes & Diseases2022,9,3:0

14Brunner’s gland hyperplasia associated with lipomatous pseudohypertrophy of the pancreas presenting with gastrointestinal bleeding:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Brunner’s gland hyperplasia(BGH)is a rare benign lesion of the duodenum.Lipomatous pseudohypertrophy(LiPH)of the pancreas is an extremely rare disease.Because each condition is rare,the probability of purely coincidental coexistence of both conditions is extremely low.CASE SUMMARY We report a 26-year-old man presenting to our hospital with symptoms of recurrent upper gastrointestinal bleeding.Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy showed a huge pedunculated polypoid lesion in the duodenum with bleeding at the base of the lesion.Histopathological examination of the duodenal biopsy specimens showed BGH.Besides,abdominal computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed marked fat replacement over the entire pancreas,confirmed by histopathological evaluation on percutaneous pancreatic biopsies.Based on the radiological and histological findings,LiPH of the pancreas and BGH were diagnosed.The patient refused any surgical intervention.Therefore,he was managed with supportive treatment.The patient’s symptoms improved and there was no further bleeding.CONCLUSION This is the first well-documented case showing the coexistence of LiPH of the pancreas and BGH.Long Cong Nguyen Khanh Truong Vu Trang Thi Thuy Vo Chau Ha Trinh Tan Dang Do Ngoc Thi Van Pham Tuyen Van Pham Thanh Tuan Nguyen Hiep Canh Nguyen Jeong-Sik Byeon 2021World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,31:0
15Green synthesis of three-dimensional magnesium ferrite/titanium dioxide/reduced graphene from Garcinia mangostana extract for crystal violet photodegradation and antibacterial activity显示文摘In this study,three-dimensional porous magnesium ferrite/titanium dioxide/reduced graphene oxide(Mg Fe_2O_(4)-GM/TiO_(2)/rGO(MGTG))was successfully synthesized via green and hydrothermal-supported co-precipitation methods using the extract of Garcinia mangostana(G.mangostana)as a reducing agent.The characterization results indicate the successful formation of the nano/micro Mg Fe_(2)O_(4)(MFO)and TiO_(2) on the structure of the reduced graphene oxide(rGO),which can also act as efficient support,alleviating the agglomeration of the nano/micro MFO and TiO_(2).The synergic effects of the adsorption and photodegradation activity of the material were investigated according to the removal of crystal violet(CV)under ultraviolet light.The effects of catalyst dosage,CV concentration,and p H on the CV removal efficiency of the MGTG were also investigated.According to the results,the CV photodegradation of the MGTG-200 corresponded to the pseudo-first-order kinetic model.The reusability of the material after 10 cycles also showed a removal efficiency of 92%.This happened because the materials can easily be recollected using external magnets.In addition,according to the effects of different free radicals·O_(2)^(-),h^(+),and·OH on the photodegradation process,the photocatalysis mechanism of the MGTG was also thoroughly suggested.The antibacterial efficiency of the MGTG was also evaluated according to the inhibition of the Gram-positive bacteria strain Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus).Concurrently,the antibacterial mechanism of the fabricated material was also proposed.These results confirm that the prepared material can be potentially employed in a wide range of applications,including wastewater treatment and antibacterial activity.Tong Hoang Lin Che Quang Cong Nguyen Thanh Hoai Nam Hoang An Nguyen Duy Hai Ton That Buu Thoi Le Nhat Binh Hoang Le Minh Lam Thanh Ngan Hoang Thuy Kim Ngan Du Chi Vi Ta Dang Khoa Nguyen Huu Hieu 2023Journal of Semiconductors2023,44,12:0
16Using Visual MODFLOW Model to Assess the Efficiency of Subsurface Barrier Wall for Groundwater Flow Regulation and Reduction of Saline Intrution显示文摘Barrier walls effectively store water,regulate underground flows,improve exploitable reserves and prevent saltwater intrusion.The effectiveness of the underground barrier wall depends not only on the hydrogeological structure,the technical parameters of the wall but also on the layout scheme of the exploitation well system.The results showed that in natural conditions,the ground water level upstream of the barrier wall rose in the presence of a barrier wall.In wells located downstream of high barrier walls,the water level decreased.The amount of underground current flowing into the sea decreased,the annual average value of the whole region decreased was 316 m3/day and night.In presence of a wall,both the water level and the amount of evaporation increased.The average increase in evaporation volume during the calculation period of ten thousand days with walls was 4.114 m3/d.So in presence of a wall,the amount of water that can be exploited increases by the total amount of evaporation plus the decrease in discharge to the sea and is equal to 4,424 m3/d.In the exploitation condition,if the water level in the presence of wall is kept as low as in the absence of wall,the exploitation flow will increase to about 4,400 m3/day and night.From the calculated water level values when there is a wall and without a wall,we can see that if the exploitation flow in presence of a wall and in the absence of wall is the same,the water level drop at the calculated observation wells upstream of the wall will decrease from 0.21 m to 3.97 m.The condition of effective exploitation of the wall depends on the mining scheme.The exploitation scheme is reasonable,the exploitation flow of the wells does not exceed the allowable flow so as not to cause the drying of the aquifer at the location of the well.The upstream area of the wall reflects quite clearly as the Total dissolved solids content in observation wells upstream of the wall at the end of the calculation time is significantly reduced compared to that without the wall,ranging from 69 mg/L to 5,629 mg/L.In the presence of a wall,the water level of observation wells upstream of the wall is higher than that of without a wall from 0.10 m to 0.74 m.Nguyen Minh Khuyen Doan Van Long Nguyen Tien Bach Tang Huu Dong Bui Cong Du Dang Dinh Phuc 2021Journal of Environmental Science and Engineering(A)2021,10,3:0
17Thrips-mediated impacts from transgenic rice expressing Cry1Ab on ecological fitness of non-target predator Orius tantilus(Hemiptera:Anthocoridae)显示文摘Various rice lines have been genetically modified with genes from Bacillus thuringiensis(Bt) to continuously produce Bt insecticidal proteins against lepidopteran larvae. The Bt insecticidal protein constantly expresses in the plants to create an opportunity for non-target herbivores to acquire and convey the protein to their predators or parasitoids across trophic levels. This paper evaluates the effects of Bt rice(namely, Kemindao 1(KMD1) and Kemindao 2(KMD2)) expressing Cry1 Ab as compared to its non-Bt control line, Xiushui 11 on non-target predator Orius tantilus(a generalist predatory anthocorid of thrips) under laboratory and field conditions. To measure several biological parameters such as total nymphal duration and fecundity of this bug, it was reared on thrips and pollens of KMD1 and KMD2 as compared to their control under laboratory conditions. By comparison with the control, Bt rice did not significantly affect main life-history characteristics(total nymphal duration, female adult longevity, oviposition period and fecundity) of this anthocorid preying on Bt rice-fed thrips along with Bt rice pollens, except that the fecundity of this predator for KMD1 was distinctly lower as compared with KMD2 or the control. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) results showed that no Cry1 Ab protein was detected in this predator fed on thrips or rice pollen from Bt rice but was in Bt rice pollens. With the beat plate, plastic bag and color trap sampling methods, two-year field monitoring of O. tantilus abundance demonstrated that Bt rice had no significant detrimental effects on the population dynamics and seasonal average densities of this predatory anthocorid as compared with the control. 20RSPSSL:A novel high-fidelity Raman spectral preprocessing scheme to enhance biomedical applications and chemical resolution visualization显示文摘Raman spectroscopy has tremendous potential for material analysis with its molecular fingerprinting capability in many branches of science and technology.It is also an emerging omics technique for metabolic profiling to shape precision medicine.However,precisely attributing vibration peaks coupled with specific environmental,instrumental,and specimen noise is problematic.Intelligent Raman spectral preprocessing to remove statistical bias noise and sample-related errors should provide a powerful tool for valuable information extraction.Here,we propose a novel Raman spectral preprocessing scheme based on self-supervised learning(RSPSSL)with high capacity and spectral fidelity.It can preprocess arbitrary Raman spectra without further training at a speed of~1900 spectra per second without human interference.The experimental data preprocessing trial demonstrated its excellent capacity and signal fidelity with an 88%reduction in root mean square error and a 60%reduction in infinite norm({L}_{{\infty}})compared to established techniques.With this advantage,it remarkably enhanced various biomedical applications with a 400%accuracy elevation(ΔAUC)in cancer diagnosis,an average 38%(few-shot)and 242%accuracy improvement in paraquat concentration prediction,and unsealed the chemical resolution of biomedical hyperspectral images,especially in the spectral fingerprint region.It precisely preprocessed various Raman spectra from different spectroscopy devices,laboratories,and diverse applications.This scheme will enable biomedical mechanism screening with the label-free volumetric molecular imaging tool on organism and disease metabolomics profiling with a scenario of high throughput,cross-device,various analyte complexity,and diverse applications.Jiaqi Hu Gina Jinna Chen Chenlong Xue Pei Liang Yanqun Xiang Chuanlun Zhang Xiaokeng Chi Guoying Liu Yanfang Ye Dongyu Cui De Zhang Xiaojun yu Hong Dang Wen Zhang Junfan Chen Quan Tang Penglai Guo Ho-Pui Ho Yuchao Li Longqing Cong Perry Ping Shum 2024Light(Science & Applications)2024,13,2:0
