1Toxoplasma gondii infection in children after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: A case report and literature review显示文摘Introduction:Toxoplasmosis is a life-threatening complication after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT).However,for several reasons,clinicians know little about Toxoplasma infection.Case presentation:We report a case of toxoplasmosis that was diagnosed by bone marrow smear and metagenomic next-generation sequencing(mNGS)after HSCT in a boy.Additionally,we summarize the characteristics of toxoplasmosis after pediatric HSCT reported in the literature published in PubMed.Conclusion:Clinicians should increase their awareness of toxoplasmosis in children after HSCT and implement pre-transplant screening and post-transplant monitoring and prevention in future according to the national conditions of our country.Lijuan Luo Nan Shen Wenjuan Chen Chengjuan Luo Xiaohang Huang Yuelian Jiang Qing Cao 2021Pediatric Investigation2021,5,3:3
2The Study on the Anti-corrosion Performance of NiTi Alloy in Human Body Solution with the Fabricating Processes of Laser Irradiation and PDMS Modification显示文摘This paper presents a new and safe method of fabricating super-hydrophobic surface on NiTi Shape Memory Alloy(SMA),which aims to further improve the corrosion resistance performance and biocompatibility of NiTi SMA.The super-hydrophobic surfaces with Water Contact Angle(WCA)of 155.4°±0.9°and Water Sliding Angle(WSA)of 4.4°±1.1°were obtained by the hybrid of laser irradiation and polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)modification.The forming mechanism was systematically revealed via Scanming Electron Microscopy(SEM)and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy(XPS).The ant-corrosion of samples was investigated in Simulated Body Fluid(SBF)via the potentiodynamie polarization(PDP)and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS)tests.PDMS super-hydrophobic coatings showed superior anti-corrosion performance.The Ni ions release experiment was also conducted and the corresponding result demonstrated that the super-hydrophobic samplcs effectively inhibited the rclease of Ni ions both in clctrolyte and SBF Besides,biocompaibility was further analyzed,indicating that the prepared super-hydrophobic surfaces present a huge potential advantage in biocompatibility.Chengjuan Yang weiran Cao Zhen Yang Meng Wang Xiubing Jing Yanling Tian 2021Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,1:2

9High-Performance Aqueous Zinc-Ion Battery Based on Laser-Induced Graphene显示文摘Zn-ion batteries(ZIBs)have a broad application prospect because of their advantages of high power,large capacity,and high energy density.However,the development of high-capacity,long-lifespan ZIBs is challenging because of the faster dendrite growth and the occurrence of the hydrogen evolution reaction.Laser-induced graphene(LIG)is a material with many defects and heteroatoms.Because of these characteristics,it plays an important role in improving nucleation.A simple and effective method for preparing LIG was proposed in this paper,and the LIG was covered on the surface of Zn foil to form a composite structure.This structure substantially reduces the nucleation overpotential of Zn and slows down the dendrite growth of Zn by improving the nucleation behavior of Zn^(2+).Simultaneously,the three-dimensional porous structure increases the specific surface area of the electrode,so the battery has a larger specific capacity.Compared with the bare Zn electrode,the composite electrode possesses lower overpotential and longer cycle life.In addition,the full battery using activated carbon as the active material exhibits great rate and cycle performance.This facile and scalable approach may solve the problem of Zn dendrite growth,which is crucial for the large-scale application of ZIBs.Chengjuan Yang Yuchun Tong Zhen Yang Hui Xiao Huimin Qi Faze Chen 2023Nanomanufacturing and Metrology2023,6,2:0
10JAK inhibition ameliorated experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis by blocking GM-CSF-driven inflammatory signature of monocytes显示文摘Monocytes are key effectors in autoimmunity-related diseases in the central nervous system(CNS)due to the critical roles of these cells in the production of proinflammatory cytokines,differentiation of T-helper(Th)cells,and antigen presentation.The JAK-STAT signaling is crucial for initiating monocytes induced immune responses by relaying cytokines signaling.However,the role of this pathway in modulating the communication between monocytes and Th cells in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis(MS)is unclear.Here,we show that the JAK1/2/3 and STAT1/3/5/6 subtypes involved in the demyelination mediated by the differentiation of pathological Th1 and Th17 and the CNS-infiltrating inflammatory monocytes in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE),a model for MS.JAK inhibition prevented the CNS-infiltrating CCR2-dependent Ly6^(Chi)monocytes and monocyte-derived dendritic cells in EAE mice.In parallel,the proportion of GM-CSF^(+)CD4^(+)T cells and GM-CSF secretion were decreased in pathological Th17 cells by JAK inhibition,which in turns converted CNS-invading monocytes into antigen-presenting cells to mediate tissue damage.Together,our data highlight the therapeutic potential of JAK inhibition in treating EAE by blocking the GM-CSF-driven inflammatory signature of monocytes.Shuai Shao Chengjuan Chen Gaona Shi Yu Zhou Yazi Wei Lei Wu Lan Sun Tiantai Zhang 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,10:0
11Bone-derived MSCs encapsulated in alginate hydrogel prevent collagen-induced arthritis in mice through the activation of adenosine A_(2A/2B)receptors in tolerogenic dendritic cells显示文摘Tolerogenic dendritic cells(tol DCs)facilitate the suppression of autoimmune responses by differentiating regulatory T cells(Treg).The dysfunction of immunotolerance results in the development of autoimmune diseases,such as rheumatoid arthritis(RA).As multipotent progenitor cells,mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),can regulate dendritic cells(DCs)to restore their immunosuppressive function and prevent disease development.However,the underlying mechanisms of MSCs in regulating DCs still need to be better defined.Simultaneously,the delivery system for MSCs also influences their function.Herein,MSCs are encapsulated in alginate hydrogel to improve cell survival and retention in situ,maximizing efficacy in vivo.The three-dimensional co-culture of encapsulated MSCs with DCs demonstrates that MSCs can inhibit the maturation of DCs and the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines.In the collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)mice model,alginate hydrogel encapsulated MSCs induce a significantly higher expression of CD39^(+)CD73^(+)on MSCs.These enzymes hydrolyze ATP to adenosine and activate A_(2A/2B)receptors on immature DCs,further promoting the phenotypic transformation of DCs to tol DCs and regulating naive T cells to Tregs.Therefore,encapsulated MSCs obviously alleviate the inflammatory response and prevent CIA progression.This finding clarifies the mechanism of MSCs-DCs crosstalk in eliciting the immunosuppression effect and provides insights into hydrogel-promoted stem cell therapy for autoimmune diseases.Gaona Shi Yu Zhou Wenshuai Liu Chengjuan Chen Yazi Wei Xinlong Yan Lei Wu Weiwei Wang Lan Sun Tiantai Zhang 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,6:0
12A Case Report:Severe Bullous Skin Reaction Induced by Anti-PD-1 Antibody(Toripalimab)Therapy in a Patient with Thymic Carcinoma显示文摘The development of immune checkpoint inhibitors,such as those targeting programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1),represents a major breakthrough in cancer therapy.Although immune checkpoint blockade therapy has a favorable risk/benefit ratio,it causes significant immune-related adverse events(irAEs),such as cutaneous reactions,in particular,severe bullous skin reactions and toxic epidermal necrolysis.Here,we report a case of a 51-year-old woman with malignant thymoma who developed a severe bullous skin reaction(characterized by a systemic rash,bullae,epidermal desquamation,and Stevens-Johnson syndrome)as a result of treatment with the PD-1 inhibitor toripalimab.The patient was treated with high doses of glucocorticoid,intravenous immunoglobulin,and intensive care,and eventually recovered from the severe irAEs.The intravenous injection of anti-PD-1 antibodies induces cutaneous reactions,which are associated with higher mortality rates.High doses of glucocorticoid combined with intravenous immunoglobulin are effective in alleviating such irAEs.Thus,improving the level of care and preventing skin infections can effectively reduce the risk of death.Chong TENG Xiaowei SONG Chengjuan FAN Yashuang ZHAO Lina DU Siqi MAN Yuanyuan HU Zhengjun JIANG Tao XIN 2022Clinical Cancer Bulletin2022,1,3:0
13Identification and Characterization of ZF-HD Genes in Response to Abscisic Acid and Abiotic Stresses in Maize显示文摘The zinc finger homeodomain(ZF-HD)genes belong to the homeobox gene family,playing critical roles in flower development and stress response.Despite their importance,however,to date there has been no genome-wide identification and characterization of the ZF-HD genes that are probably involved in stress responses in maize.In this study,24 ZF-HD genes were identified,and their chromosomal locations,protein properties,duplication patterns,structures,conserved motifs and expression patterns were investigated.The results revealed that the ZF-HD genes are unevenly distributed on nine chromosomes and that most of these genes lack introns.Six and two ZF-HD genes have undergone segmental and tandem duplication,respectively,during genome expansion.These 24 ZF-HD transcription factors were classified into six major groups on the basis of protein molecular evolutionary relationship.The expression profiles of these genes in different tissues were evaluated,resulting in producing two distinct clusters.ZF-HD genes are preferentially expressed in reproductive tissues.Furthermore,expression profiles of the 24 ZF-HD genes in response to different kinds of stresses revealed that ten genes were simultaneously up-regulated under ABA,salt and PEG treatments;meanwhile four genes were simultaneously down-regulated.These findings will pave the way for deciphering the function and mechanism of ZF-HD genes on how to implicate in abiotic stress.Xiaojie Jing Chunyan Li Chengjuan Luo Chaonan Yao Jiahao Zhang Tingting Zhu Jiuguang Wang Chaoxian Liu 2023Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,3:0
