1Organic amendments increase corn yield by enhancing soil resilience to climate change显示文摘A 22-year field experiment was conducted in Gongzhuling, Jilin province, China to investigate corn yield response to fertilization practice. Compared to an unfertilized control(CK), all fertilization treatments, including inorganic nitrogen fertilizer only(N), balanced inorganic fertilizers(NPK), NPK plus corn straw(SNPK), and NPK plus farmyard manure(MNPK), resulted in significant increases in corn yield. However, only organic matter amendments sustained increasing yield trends, with annual rates of 0.137 and 0.194 t ha-1for the SPNK and MNPK treatments, respectively(P < 0.05). During the 22 years, the daily mean, maximum and minimum temperatures increased by 0.50, 0.53, and 0.46 °C per decade, whereas precipitation displayed no significant change but showed large seasonal variation. According to a regression analysis, increased air temperature exerted positive effects on corn yields under the SNPK and the MNPK treatments. Under both treatments,soil organic carbon contents and soil nutrient availabilities increased significantly compared to their initial levels in 1990, whereas soil bulk density and total porosity changed slightly under the two treatments, which showed higher soil water storage than other treatments. In contrast, significant increases in soil bulk density and decreases in soil total porosity and soil nutrient availability were observed under the CK, N and NPK treatments. The contributions of soil fertility to corn yield were 28.4%, 37.9%, 38.4%, 39.0%,and 42.9% under CK, N, NPK, SNPK, and MNPK treatments, respectively, whereas climate changes accounted for 27.0%, 14.6%, 12.4%, 11.8%, and 10.8%. 4GENETIC PROGRAMMING TO PREDICT SKI-JUMP BUCKET SPILLWAY SCOUR显示文摘Researchers in the past had noticed that application of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) in place of conventional statistics on the basis of data mining techniques predicts more accurate results in hydraulic predictions. Mostly these works pertained to applications of ANN. Recently, another tool of soft computing, namely, Genetic Programming (GP) has caught the attention of researchers in civil engineering computing. This article examines the usefulness of the GP based approach to predict the relative scour depth downstream of a common type of ski-jump bucket spillway. Actual field measurements were used to develop the GP model. The GP based estimations were found to be equally and more accurate than the ANN based ones, especially, when the underlying cause-effect relationship became more uncertain to model.AZAMATHULLA H. 5Rare earth(Gd,La) co-doped ZnO nanoflowers for direct sunlight driven photocatalytic activity显示文摘In this work Gd/La@ZnO nanoflower photocatalyst was successfully synthesized by a co-precipitation method and applied for rhodamine B(Rh B) and tetracycline(TCN) degradation under direct sunlight irradiation.The doping of rare earth elements extends the optical absorption wavelength of ZnO from UV region(390 nm) to visible-light region(401 nm).In addition,the co-doped ZnO nanoflower exhibits a lower charge recombination efficiency which was confirmed by photoluminescence emission analysis.Moreover,the co-doped ZnO nanoflower exhibits the maximum degradation efficiency of 91% for Rh B and 74% for TCN under sunlight irradiation.The calculated synergistic index of co-doped ZnO is higher than that of the pure ZnO.Reactive radicals’ production was confirmed by terephthalic acid(TA) and nitro-blue tetrazolium(NBT) tests.The holes and hydroxyl(·OH) radicals play the major role in degradation reaction and it was confirmed by scavenger’s test.Moreover,the recycling test confirms the stability of the photocatalyst.Baskaran Palanivel Romulo R.Macadangdang Jr Md Shahadat Hossain Fahad A.Alharthi Mohanraj Kumar Jih-Hsing Chang Sreedevi Gedi 2023Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,1:3

10Differentiation and Pro-Angiogenic Potential of Infantile Hemangioma Stem Cells显示文摘Objectives Infantile hemangioma(IH)is defined as a benign vascular tumor composed of immature vascular endothelial cells,with the unique characteristics of rich vascularization and self-regression into fibro-fatty tissue.CD133-positive hemangioma stem cells(HemSCs),present in the proliferating IH tissue,can be used to establish the IH animal model,which has highlighted the pathogenesis of IH in recent years.This study focused on the biological characteristics and differentiation capacity of HemSCs and aimed to provide a theoretical possibility for its application in tissue engineering.Methods To further confirm our hypothesis,we used fluorescence-activated cell sorting(FACS),in vitro multipotent induced differentiation,angiogenesis assay,and antibody array to identify the surface markers,multipotent differential potential,angiogenesis potential,and secreted factors of HemSCs,respectively,utilizing human adipose stem cells(hADSCs)as the control.Results We successfully isolated and cultured HemSCs.FACS indicated that,on average,more than 80%of HemSCs matched the criteria of mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)surface markers.Our results confirmed that HemSCs could differentiate into adipocytes,osteocytes,and chondrocytes.Additionally,compared with fibroblasts or hADSCs,HemSCs could promote angiogenesis through para-secretion.Conclusions HemSCs may originate from normal MSCs,and owing to their powerful proliferative and angiogenic abilities,they could be considered an IH pathogenic factor.These characteristics demonstratet heir potential as a candidate seed cell in tissue engineering.Hanru YING Qianyi CHEN Xuanfeng CHEN Zhang YU MD Shih-Jen CHANG Lei CHANG Gang MA Yajing QIU Hui CHEN Xiaoxi LIN 2020Chinese Journal Of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery2020,2,1:2
