1Geniposide, the component of the Chinese herbal formula Tongluojiunao, protects amyloid-β peptide(1–42)-mediated death of hippocampal neurons via the non-classical estrogen signaling pathway显示文摘Tongluojiunao(TLJN) is an herbal medicine consisting of two main components, geniposide and ginsenoside Rg1. TLJN has been shown to protect primary cultured hippocampal neurons. However, its mechanism of action remains unclear. In the present study, primary cultured hippocampal neurons treated with Aβ1–42(10 μmol/L) significantly increased the release of lactate dehydrogenase, which was markedly reduced by TLJN(2 μL/mL), specifically by the component geniposide(26 μmol/L), but not ginsenoside Rg1(2.5 μmol/L). The estrogen receptor inhibitor, ICI182780(1 μmol/L), did not block TLJN- or geniposide-mediated decrease of lactate dehydrogenase under Aβ1–42-exposed conditions. However, the phosphatidyl inositol 3-kinase or mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway inhibitor, LY294002(50 μmol/L) or U0126(10 μmol/L), respectively blo cked the decrease of lactate dehydrogenase mediated by TLJN or geniposide. 2An application of game theory in distributed collaborative decision making显示文摘In a distributed product realization environment,new paradigms and accompanying software systems are necessary to support the collaborative work of geographically dispersed engineering teams from different disciplines who have different knowledge,experience,tools and resources.To verify the concept of collaboration by separation,we propose a generic information communication medium to enable knowledge representation and exchange between engineering teams,a digital interface.Across digital interfaces,each engineering team maintains its own perspective towards the product realization problem,and each controls a subset of design variables and seeks to maximize its own payoff function subject to individual constraints.Hence,we postulate the use of principles from game theory to model the relationships between engineering teams and facilitate collaborative decision making without causing unnecessary information exchange or iteration across digital interfaces.A product design and manufacturing scenario is introduced to demonstrate the efficacy of using game theory to maintain a clean interface between design and manufacturing teams.Angran XIAO 2019Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2019,14,1:1

5Oriented electron tunneling transport in hierarchical Ag/SiO_(2)/TiO_(2) nanobowl arrays for plasmonic solar water splitting显示文摘Hierarchical Ag/SiO_(2)/TiO_(2) nanobowl(NB)arrays were fabricated for use as plasmonic photoanodes for solar-hydrogen conversion.The nanobowls had large pore size and were composed of an upper TiO_(2) nanoring and a lower TiO_(2) nanohole.A thin SiO_(2) inter-layer was introduced as an electron transmission channel to change the mechanism of hot electron transport.Simulations were performed to characterize the variation of electron concentration in Ag/SiO_(2)/TiO_(2) NB arrays,taking into account both the optical transition of photogenerated electrons,and electron tunneling.The multiphysics coupling function of COMSOL software provided the light source for optical transition of photogenerated electrons,and a Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin model was employed to represent the tunneling.The results demonstrate that the TiO_(2) nanoring was a transporter,which transmitted electrons downward to the nanohole.The SiO_(2) layer replaces the Schottky barrier to become a bridge for tunneling of hot electrons in high-and low-energy states into TiO_(2).Moreover,the coverage of the SiO_(2) layer helped increase the light absorption of TiO_(2),it also reduced the near electric field coupling between Ag and TiO_(2).Accordingly,under AM 1.5 light irradiation,the photocurrent density and average hydrogen evolution rate of Ag/SiO_(2)/TiO_(2) were 1.8 and 2.2 times higher,respectively,than those of pure TiO_(2),implying far more efficient migration of carriers.Zexin Yu Lixia Sang Angran Cao Yunlong Gao 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:1

7Experimental Study on the Characteristics of Water Vapor Generation from Gas-washing Bottle and Injector显示文摘Gas-washing and water injection are two commonly used methods in generating certain moisture content in gas flow stream, but the control accuracy of these methods remains uncertain. The purpose of the study is to investigate the characteristic of water vapor generation of the two methods. The temperature and humidity recorder and FTIR gas analyzer have been adopted to monitor the moisture content in tests. It has been revealed that, in gas-washing process, the moisture content in gas stream is well below saturation, and long time is required before moisture content stabilized after water bath temperature or carrier gas flow rate changed. Water injection pump could directly control the amount of water injected into gas stream. 8An Isogeometric Analysis Computational Platform for Material Transport Simulation in Complex Neurite Networks显示文摘Neurons exhibit remarkably complex geometry in their neurite networks.So far,how materials are transported in the complex geometry for survival and function of neurons remains an unanswered question.Answering this question is fundamental to understanding the physiology and disease of neurons.Here,we have developed an isogeometric analysis(IGA)based platform for material transport simulation in neurite networks.We modeled the transport process by reaction-diffusion-transport equations and represented geometry of the networks using truncated hierarchical tricubic B-splines(THB-spline3D).We solved the Navier-Stokes equations to obtain the velocity field of material transport in the networks.We then solved the transport equations using the streamline upwind/Petrov-Galerkin(SU/PG)method.Using our IGA solver,we simulated material transport in three basic models of the network geometry:a single neurite,a neurite bifurcation,and a neurite tree with three bifurcations.In addition,the robustness of our solver is illustrated by simulating material transport in three representative and complex neurite networks.From the simulation we discovered several spatial patterns of the transport process.Together,our simulation provides key insights into how material transport in neurite networks is mediated by their complex geometry.Angran Li Xiaoqi Chai Ge Yang Yongjie Jessica Zhang 2019Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics2019,16,2:0
