| 1 | Hepatitis B virus subgenotypes and basal core promoter mutations in Indonesia显示文摘AIM:To identify the distribution of hepatitis B virus (HBV) subgenotype and basal core promoter (BCP) mutations among patients with HBV-associated liver disease in Indonesia.METHODS: Patients with chronic hepatitis (CH, n=61), liver cirrhosis (LC, n=62), and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC,n=48) were included in this study. HBV subgenotype was identified based on S or preS gene sequence, and mutations in the HBx gene including the overlapping BCP region were examined by direct sequencing.RESULTS: HBV genotype B (subgenotypes B2, B3, B4, B5 and B7) the major genotype in the samples, accounted for 75.4%, 71.0% and 75.0% of CH, LC and HCC patients, respectively, while the genotype C (subgenotypes C1, C2 and C3) was detected in 24.6%, 29.0%, and 25.0% of CH, LC, and HCC patients, respectively. Subgenotypes B3 (84.9%) and C1 (82.2%) were the main subgenotype in HBV genotype B and C, respectively. Serotype adw2 (84.9%) and adrq+ (89.4%) were the most prevalent in HBV genotype B and C, respectively. Double mutation (A1762T/G1764A) in the BCP was significantly higher in LC (59.7%) and HCC (54.2%) than in CH (19.7%), suggesting that this mutation was associated with severity of liver disease. The T1753V was also higher in LC (46.8%), but lower in HCC (22.9%) and CH (18.0%), suggesting that this mutation may be an indicator of cirrhosis.CONCLUSION: HBV genotype B/B3 and C/C1 are the major genotypes in Indonesia. | 2 | Association of core promoter mutations of hepatitis B virus and viral load is different in HBeAg(+) and HBeAg(-) patients显示文摘AIM:To identify the prevalence of hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) and to assess the association of hepatitis B virus (HBV) core promoter mutations and viral load in Indonesian patients.METHODS:Sixty-four patients with chronic hepatitis,65 with liver cirrhosis and 50 with hepatocellular carcinoma were included in this study.HBeAg and hepatitis B e antibody (HBeAb) tests were performed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and the mutations were analyzed by sequencing.Viral load was measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction.RESULTS:Of 179 patients,108 (60.3%) were HBeAg(-) and 86 (79.6%) of these HBeAg(-) patients had been seroconverted.The A1896 mutation was not found in HBeAg(+) patients,however,this mutation was detected in 70.7% of HBeAg(-) patients.This mutation was frequently found when HBeAg was not expressed (87.7%),compared to that found in HBeAg seroconverted patients (65.1%).The A1899 mutation was also more prevalent in HBeAg(-) than in HBeAg(+) patients (P=0.004).The T1762/A1764 mutation was frequently found in both HBeAg(+) and HBeAg(-) patients,however,the prevalence of this mutation did not significantly differ among the two groups (P=0.054).In HBeAg(+) patients,the T1762/A1764 mutation was correlated with lower HBV DNA (P < 0.001).The A1899 mutation did not correlate with HBV DNA (P=0.609).In HBeAg(-) patients,the T1762/A1764 mutation alone was not correlated with HBV DNA (P=0.095),however,the presence of either the T1762/A1764 or A1896 mutations was associated with increased HBV DNA (P < 0.001).CONCLUSION:The percentage of HBeAg(-) patients is high in Indonesia,and most of the HBeAg(-) patients had been seroconverted.The A1896 mutation was most likely the major cause of HBeAg loss.The T1762/A1764 mutation alone was associated with lower viral loads in HBeAg(+) patients,but not in HBeAg(-) patients. | Andi Utama Marlinang Diarta Siburian Sigit Purwantomo Mariana Destila Bayu Intan Tri Shinta Kurniasih Susan Tai Rino Alvani Gani Laurentius Adrianus Lesmana All Sulaiman Wenny Astuti Achwan Soewignjo Soemohardjo Arnelis Nasrul Zubir Julius Syafruddin AR Lelosutan Benyamin Lukito Tantoro Harmono | 2011 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2011，17，6： | 3 |

| 5 | Medical Students’Views on Psychiatry in Germany and Italy:Survey显示文摘Objectives:In 2019,the Insititue for Health Metrics and Evaluation reported that 16%of life lost were attributed to mental health.As a result,global shortage of psychiatrists is a pressing issue due to the increasing burden of mental illness.In 2016,a mere 5%of US medical students chose psychiatry as a career,a trend mirrored in Germany and Italy.As the medical students of 2016 have graduated or transitioned into residency in 2023,their attitudes towards psychiatry could have contributed to today’s shortage of psychiatrists.The global mental health burden has only been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.This study explores the attitudes of German and Italian medical students towards psychiatry,their career aspirations,and the influence of factors such as personal experience and education on their interest in the field.Methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 799 medical students in two European countries in 2016.Participants answered questions about their attitudes towards psychiatry,their psychiatric education,and personal experiences.Inferential analyses were performed using chi-square tests and a significance level of 0.05.Results:The number of years in medical school,personal experiences,and perceived quality of education significantly affected specialty choice and ranking of psychiatry compared to other specialties.Internships,psychiatric placements,and views on psychiatric instructors also played a significant role in choosing psychiatry as a career.Conclusions:Assessing medical students’attitudes towards psychiatry and the factors that influence their career choices,such as psychiatric education and personal experiences,can inform changes to attract students to the field.Addressing the worldwide shortage of psychiatrists is crucial to reduce the burden of mental health and substance use disorders. | Andy Man Yeung Tai Janet Suen Mostafa Mamdouh Kamel Georg Schomerus Angelo Giovanni Icro Maremmaniz Reinhard Michael Krausz | 2023 | International Journal of Mental Health Promotion2023，25，9： | 0 |
| 6 | Time Series Forecasting of Hong Kong Inter-bank Offered Rate(HIBOR)using Exponential Smoothing State Space Model显示文摘This paper set out to analyze and forecast the Hong Kong Interbank Interest Rate(HIBOR)for a period 2006 to 2018.The main objective of this study is to propose an appropriate time series forecasting model for HIBOR.HIBOR conceptually captures the interaction between demand and supply of Hong Kong dollar in the interbank market.The volatility of HIBOR reflects market sentiment,changes in underlying macroeconomic environment,random events and even political climate.Thus,the time series data of HIBOR appears to have multiple seasonality during the aforesaid period.The TBATS model,the state space modeling framework developed by De Livera,Hyndman and Snyder(2010)is adopted for this study to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the time series modeling and forecasting of HIBOR.The TBATS model incorporates Box-Cox transformations,Fourier representations with time varying coefficients,and ARMA error correction.Likelihood evaluation and analytical expressions for point forecasts and interval predictions under the assumption of Gaussian errors are derived,leading to a simple,comprehensive approach to forecasting complex seasonal time series.In addition,the trigonometric formulation is used as a means of decomposing complex seasonal time series,which helps to identify and extract seasonal components which are otherwise not apparent in the time series plot itself.The performance of the TBATS model as evaluated by measures of forecast error are presented. | Andy Tai Ka-ming Lam | 2023 | Economics World2023，10，1： | 0 |
