| 1 | Rangelands of Central Asia:challenges and opportunities显示文摘Rangelands of Central Asia(referring to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in this study), the largest contiguous area of grazed land in the world, serve as an important source of livelihood for pastoral and agro-pastoral communities in this region. They also play an important role in absorbing CO2 as a global carbon sink. However, unsustainable management of rangelands has led to their degradation hugely by downgrading their potential agro-ecological, environmental and socio-economical roles. This paper reviewed the rangeland degradation in Central Asia, a topic which so far has received only scant coverage in the international scientific literature. It also provided examples of successful experiences and outlined possible options that land managers can adopt to enhance the sustainable management of these vast degraded rangelands. The experiences and lessons described in this paper may also be relevant for other degraded rangeland areas, especially in the developing countries. The causes of rangeland degradation within the Central Asian region are numerous, complex and inter-related. Therefore, while addressing the factors associated with improper rangeland management may shed some light on the causes of rangeland degradation, the scope of this paper would not be all-encompassing for the major causes of degradation. There is a need to develop and widely apply the viable and locally accepted and adapted packages of technical, institutional and policy options for sustainable rangeland management. Incentivizing the collective action of small-scale pastoralists who group together to facilitate access to remote pastures can reduce the degree of overgrazing within community pastures, such as those near the settlements. We also found that migratory grazing through pooling of resources among small-scale pastoralists can increase household income. After their independence, most Central Asian countries adopted various rangeland tenure arrangements. However, the building of enhanced capacities of pasture management and effective local rangeland governance structures can increase the likelihood, which will be sustainable and equitable. | 2 | Effect of water deficiency on relationships between metabolism,physiology,biomass,and yield of upland cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)显示文摘Drought is a common abiotic stress that considerably limits crop production. The objective of this study is to explore the influence of water deficiency on the yield, physiologic and metabolomic attributes in upland cotton cultivars(Gossypium hirsutum L). Cotton cultivars, 'Ishonch' and 'Tashkent-6' were selected to study the relationships among their physiologic, metabolomic and yield attributes during water deficiency. Deficit irrigation was designed by modifying the traditional watering protocol to reduce water use. Results indicate that cotton cultivars respond differently to water deficit stress. Water deficit significantly influenced plant height, the number of internodes, and sympodial branches in both cultivars. However, yield components such as the number of bolls, boll seed, lint mass, and individual plant yield were significantly reduced only in 'Tashkent-6'. The leaf area decreased and the specific leaf weight increased in 'Ishonch' under deficit irrigation conditions. However, 'Tashkent-6' demonstrated significant water loss compared to 'Ishonch', and both cultivars showed reduced transpiration rates. Untargeted metabolite profiles of leaves showed clear separation in 'Ishonch', but not in 'Tashkent-6' under deficit irrigation compared to full irrigation. The individual metabolites such as proline and galactinol showed strong association with yield under water deficit stress. Moreover, this study indicates that leaf area and transpiration intensity influence yield during water deficiency. In summary, the correlation among morpho-physiologic, metabolic, and yield components significantly varied between the two cultivars under water deficiency. The flowering stage was sensitive to water stress for both cultivars. | 16 | 接种不同致病力黄萎病菌的F_1代棉花的基因型抗性研究(英文)显示文摘在乌兹别克斯坦,棉黄萎病对棉花造成严重损失。为了选育能抗强致病力菌系的棉花品种,需确定棉花对不同地域的强致病力菌系的基因型抗性和F1代的抗性遗传度。研究发现,品种Omad和品系L-44,L-408,L-155,L-1708对所选菌系的抗性最好。当受到侵染时,它们表现出超敏感性,但不表现黄萎病症状。F1代的黄萎病抗性为超显性和显性遗传,且与鉴定方法无关。同时,存在中间性遗传。遗传优势度取决于其亲本的配合力、F1代受侵染时的基因反应型和不同地域菌系的致病力。其中,Omad,С-5621,L-44,L-1708的表型抗性高;在F1代中,组合L-155×С-5621和L1708×С-5621的表型抗性较高,在50%~80%。黄萎病抗性遗传控制的特点是趋向于最好或最差亲本的负或正的超显性、显性遗传以及中间型遗传。对所选菌系,杂交组合L-155×С-5621和L-155×L-44的综合抗性最好。 | AMANTURDIEV Alisher KIM Robert | 2008 | 棉花学报2008,20,6: | 0 |
| 17 | A novel design approach of charge plasma tunnel FET for radio frequency applications显示文摘In this paper, the impact of extra electron source(EES) and dual metal gate engineering on conventional charge plasma TFET(CP-TFET) have been done for improving DC and analog/RF parameters. CP-TFET structure is upgraded to double source CP-TFET(DS-CP-TFET) by placing an EES below the source/channel junction for enhancing the device performance in terms of driving current and RF figures of merit(FOMs). But, in spite of these pros, the approach is having cons of higher leakage current similar to MOSFET and negative conductance(inherent nature of TFET). Both the issues have been resolved in the double source dual gate CP-TFET(DS-DG-CP-TFET) by gate workfunction engineering and drain underlapping respectively.
