1气象模拟误差对异戊二烯排放估算的影响显示文摘利用MEGAN模式估算了珠三角地区2006年异戊二烯的排放情况,并设计了两组敏感性实验深入探讨了气象模拟误差对异戊二烯排放的影响.估算结果显示,2006年珠三角地区异戊二烯的排放量为95.56×106kg(以C计),且主要分布在珠三角地区周边植被覆盖较高的地方;受气象条件季节变化的影响,异戊二烯的排放表现出显著的季节和日变化特征,最大异戊二烯排放通量季节出现在夏季,为0.920t·km-2(以C计),最大排放速率均出现在13:00.敏感性实验结果显示,气象模拟误差能显著影响异戊二烯的排放,升高(降低)太阳辐射的输入,异戊二烯的排放量增加(减小)36.20%~50.70%(30.73%~41.88%),大于温度改变引起的排放量变化;升高(降低)气象输入并不会改变异戊二烯排放的日变化特征,但能显著影响排放速率的大小.上午8:00或下午17:00,异戊二烯排放速率的改变最为明显.司徒淑娉 王雪梅 Alex GUENTHER Fei CHEN 柴子为 吴志勇 李志琴 2010环境科学学报2010,30,12:9
2Spheroidization of molybdenum powder by radio frequency thermal plasma显示文摘To control the morphology and particle size of dense spherical molybdenum powder prepared by radio frequency(RF) plasma from irregular molybdenum powder as a precursor, plasma process parameters were optimized in this paper. The effects of the carrier gas flow rate and molybdenum powder feeding rate on the shape and size of the final products were studied. The molybdenum powder morphology was examined using high-resolution scanning electron microscopy. The powder phases were analyzed by X-ray diffraction. The tap density and apparent density of the molybdenum powder were investigated using a Hall flow meter and a Scott volumeter. The optimal process parameters for the spherical molybdenum powder preparation are 50 g/min powder feeding rate and 0.6 m3/h carrier gas rate. In addition, pure spherical molybdenum powder can be obtained from irregular powder, and the tap density is enhanced after plasma processing. The average size is reduced from 72 to 62 μm, and the tap density is increased from 2.7 to 6.2 g/cm3. 3High-speed in vitro intensity diffraction tomography显示文摘We demonstrate a label-free,scan-free intensity diffraction tomography technique utilizing annular illumination(aIDT)to rapidly characterize large-volume three-dimensional(3-D)refractive index distributions in vitro.By optimally matching the illumination geometry to the microscope pupil,our technique reduces the data requirement by 60 times to achieve high-speed 10-Hz volume rates.Using eight intensity images,we recover volumes of∼350μm×100μm×20μm,with near diffraction-limited lateral resolution of∼487 nm and axial resolution of∼3.4μm.The attained large volume rate and high-resolution enable 3-D quantitative phase imaging of complex living biological samples across multiple length scales.We demonstrate aIDT’s capabilities on unicellular diatom microalgae,epithelial buccal cell clusters with native bacteria,and live Caenorhabditis elegans specimens.Within these samples,we recover macroscale cellular structures,subcellular organelles,and dynamic micro-organism tissues with minimal motion artifacts.Quantifying such features has significant utility in oncology,immunology,and cellular pathophysiology,where these morphological features are evaluated for changes in the presence of disease,parasites,and new drug treatments.Finally,we simulate the aIDT system to highlight the accuracy and sensitivity of the proposed technique.aIDT shows promise as a powerful high-speed,label-free computational microscopy approach for applications where natural imaging is required to evaluate environmental effects on a sample in real time.Jiaji Li Alex Matlock Yunzhe Li Qian Chen Chao Zuo Lei Tian 2019Advanced Photonics2019,1,6:6
4Topological domain states and magnetoelectric properties in multiferroic nanostructures显示文摘Multiferroic nanostructures have been attracting tremendous attention over the past decade, due to their rich cross-coupling effects and prospective electronic applications. In particular, the emergence of some exotic phenomena in size-confined multiferroic systems, including topological domain states such as vortices, center domains, and skyrmion bubble domains, has opened a new avenue to a number of intriguing physical properties and functionalities, and thus underpins a wide range of applications in future nanoelectronic devices. It is also highly appreciated that nano-domain engineering provides a pathway to control the magnetoelectric properties, which is promising for future energy-efficient spintronic devices. In recent years, this field, still in its infancy, has witnessed a rapid development and a number of challenges too.In this article, we shall review the recent advances in the emergent domain-related exotic phenomena in multiferroic nanostructures. Specific attention is paid to the topological domain structures and related novel physical behaviors as well as the electric-field-driven magnetic switching via domain engineering. 5Cardioprotective mechanisms of salvianic acid A sodium in rats with myocardial infarction based on proteome and transcriptome analysis显示文摘Ischemic heart diseases(IHDs)cause great morbidity and mortality worldwide,necessitating effective treatment.Salvianic acid A sodium(SAAS)is an active compound derived from the well-known herbal medicine Danshen,which has been widely used for clinical treatment of cardiovascular diseases in China.This study aimed to confirm the cardioprotective effects of SAAS in rats with myocardial infarction and to investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms based on proteome and transcriptome profiling of myocardial tissue.The results showed that SAAS effectively protected against myocardial injury and improved cardiac function.The differentially expressed proteins and genes included important structural molecules,receptors,transcription factors,and cofactors.Functional enrichment analysis indicated that SAAS participated in the regulation of actin cytoskeleton,phagosome,focal adhesion,tight junction,apoptosis,MAPK signaling,and Wnt signaling pathways,which are closely related to cardiovascular diseases.SAAS may exert its cardioprotective effect by targeting multiple pathways at both the proteome and transcriptome levels.This study has provided not only new insights into the pathogenesis of myocardial infarction but also a road map of the cardioprotective molecular mechanisms of SAAS,which may provide pharmacological evidence to aid in its clinical application.Dan Jia Cheng-zhong Zhang Yan Qiu Xiao-fei Chen Lin Jia Alex F.Chen Yi-feng Chai Zhen-yu Zhu Jin Huang Chuan Zhang 2019Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2019,40,12:4

7Resolution-enhanced intensity diffraction tomography in high numerical aperture label-free microscopy显示文摘We propose label-free and motion-free resolution-enhanced intensity diffraction tomography(reIDT)recovering the 3D complex refractive index distribution of an object.By combining an annular illumination strategy with a high numerical aperture(NA)condenser,we achieve near-diffraction-limited lateral resolution of 346 nm and axial resolution of 1.2μm over 130μm×130μm×8μm volume.Our annular pattern matches the system’s maximum NA to reduce the data requirement to 48 intensity frames.The reIDT system is directly built on a standard commercial microscope with a simple LED array source and condenser lens adds-on,and promises broad applications for natural biological imaging with minimal hardware modifications.To test the capabilities of our technique,we present the 3D complex refractive index reconstructions on an absorptive USAF resolution target and Henrietta Lacks(HeLa)and HT29 human cancer cells.Our work provides an important step in intensity-based diffraction tomography toward high-resolution imaging applications.JIAJI LI ALEX MATLOCK YUNZHE LI QIAN CHEN LEI TIAN CHAO ZUO 2020Photonics Research2020,8,12:3

9Evaluation of Inference Adequacy in Cumulative Logistic Regression Models:An Empirical Validation of ISW-Ridge Relationships显示文摘Internal solitary wave propagation over a submarine ridge results in energy dissipation, in which the hydrodynamic interaction between a wave and ridge affects marine environment. This study analyzes the effects of ridge height and potential energy during wave-ridge interaction with a binary and cumulative logistic regression model. In testing the Global Null Hypothesis, all values are p<0.001, with three statistical methods, such as Likelihood Ratio, Score, and Wald. While comparing with two kinds of models, tests values obtained by cumulative logistic regression models are better than those by binary logistic regression models. Although this study employed cumulative logistic regression model, three probability functions p^1, p^2 and p^3, are utilized for investigating the weighted influence of factors on wave reflection. Deviance and Pearson tests are applied to check the goodness-of-fit of the proposed model. The analytical results demonstrated that both ridge height (X1) and potential energy (X2) significantly impact (p<0.0001) the amplitude-based reflected rate; the P-values for the deviance and Pearson are all >0.05 (0.2839, 0.3438, respectively). That is, the goodness-of-fit between ridge height (X1) and potential energy (X2) can further predict parameters under the scenario of the best parsimonious model.Investigation of 6 predictive powers (R2, Max-rescaled R2, Somers'D, Gamma, Tau-a, and c, respectively) indicate that these predictive estimates of the proposed model have better predictive ability than ridge height alone, and are very similar to the interaction of ridge height and potential energy. 10Evolution of seismic risk management for insurance over the past 30 years显示文摘During the past 30 years, there has been spectacular growth in the use of risk analysis and risk management tools developed by engineers in the financial and insurance sectors. The insurance, the reinsurance, and the investment banking sectors have enthusiastically adopted loss estimation tools developed by engineers in developing their business strategies and for managing their financial risks. As a result, insurance/reinsurance strategy has evolved as a major risk mitigation tool in managing catastrophe risk at the individual, corporate, and government level. This is particularly true in developed countries such as US, Western Europe, and Japan. Unfortunately, it has not received the needed attention in developing countries, where such a strategy for risk management is most needed. Fortunately, in the last five years, there has been excellent focus in developing 'Insur Tech' tools to address the much needed 'Insurance for the Masses', especially for the Asian Markets. In the earlier years of catastrophe model development, risk analysts were mainly concerned with risk reduction options through engineering strategies, and relatively little attention was given to financial and economic strategies. Such state-of-affairs still exists in many developing countries. The new developments in the science and technologies of loss estimation due to natural catastrophes have made it possible for financial sectors to model their business strategies such as peril and geographic diversification, premium calculations, reserve strategies, reinsurance contracts, and other underwriting tools. These developments have not only changed the way in which financial sectors assess and manage their risks, but have also changed the domain of opportunities for engineers and scientists.This paper will address the issues related to developing insurance/reinsurance strategies to mitigate catastrophe risks and describe the role catastrophe risk insurance and reinsurance has played in managing financial risk due to natural catastrophes. Historical losses and the share of those losses covered by insurance will be presented. How such risk sharing can help the nation share the burden of losses between tax paying public, the 'at risk' property owners, the insurers and the reinsurers will be discussed. The paper will summarize the tools that are used by the insurance and reinsurance companies for estimating their future losses due to catastrophic natural events. The paper will also show how the results of loss estimation technologies developed by engineers are communicated to the business flow of insurance/reinsurance companies. 12The effect of adjunct caudal block on postoperative analgesia in robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy: A prospective randomized controlled, single blinded pilot study in a tertiary centre显示文摘Objective:Caudal block provides satisfactory postoperative pain relief in lower abdominal operations.This pilot study explores its safety and effect on postoperative pain control in patients who underwent robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy(RARP).Methods:From 2013 to 2014,40 consecutive patients were randomized into two groups d one received caudal block using ropivacaine immediately after operation,the other received standard analgesia.Primary outcome measure was pain score based on 11-point Likert scale(0e10)recorded at recovery room,and at 6,12,24,48,and 72 h after operation.All analgesic requirements,opioid-related adverse events and time to passage of flatus were examined.Results:Mean age of the two groups was similar(60.4 vs.62.3 years,p Z 0.33),as was American Society of Anaesthesiologists(ASA)class,body mass index(BMI)and operation times.No significant difference in median pain scores was reported in recovery room(2 vs.3,p Z 0.34),and at 6 h(2 vs.2,p Z 0.94),12 h(0 vs.0,p Z 0.62),24 h(1 vs.0,p Z 0.58),48 h(1 vs.0,p Z 0.36)and 72 h(0 vs.0,p Z 0.78)postoperatively between control and caudal block groups,respectively.There was a higher mean opioid usage in the caudal block group which was not statistically significant.Although this was statistically insignificant while no significant difference in mean paracetamol usage was observed postoperatively.Median time to passage of flatus was similar(2.0 vs.2.0 days,p Z 0.97).There was one case of superficial wound infection and no opioid-related adverse events observed.Hospital stay was similar in both groups(2.5 vs.2.5 days,p Z 0.96).Kenneth Chen Allen Sim Alex Ford Kan 2018Asian Journal of Urology2018,5,2:3

14Numerical model to quantify biogenic volatile organic compound emissions:The Pearl River Delta region as a case study显示文摘This article compiles the actual knowledge of the biogenic volatile organic compound(BVOC) emissions estimated using model methods in the Pearl River Delta(PRD) region, one of the most developed regions in China. The developed history of BVOC emission models is presented briefly and three typical emission models are introduced and compared. The results from local studies related to BVOC emissions have been summarized. Based on this analysis, it is recommended that local researchers conduct BVOC emission studies systematically, from the assessment of model inputs, to compiling regional emission inventories to quantifying the uncertainties and evaluating the model results. Beyond that,more basic researches should be conducted in the future to close the gaps in knowledge on BVOC emission mechanisms, to develop the emission models and to refine the inventory results. 18Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) supports adhesion and migration of mesenchymal stem cells and tenocytes显示文摘AIM: To establish the potential of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) (PHBHHx) as a material for tendon repair. METHODS: The biocompatibility of PHBHHx with both rat tenocytes (rT) and human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC) was explored by monitoring adhesive characteristics on films of varying weight/volume ratios coupled to a culture atmosphere of either 21% O2 (air) or 2% O2 (physiological normoxia). The diameter and stiffness of PHBHHx films was established using optical coherence tomography and mechanical testing, respectively. RESULTS: Film thickness correlated directly with weight/volume PHBHHx (r2 = 0.9473) ranging from 0.1 mm (0.8% weight/volume) to 0.19 mm (2.4% weight/volume). Film stiffness on the other hand displayed a biphasic response which increased rapidly at values > 1.6% weight/volume. Optimal cell attachment of rT required films of ≥ 1.6% and ≥ 2.0% weight/volume PHBHHx in 2% O2 and 21% O2 respectively. A qualitative adhesion increase was noted for hMSC in films ≥ 1.2% weight/volume, becoming significant at 2% weight/volume in 2% O2. An increase in cell adhesion was also noted with ≥ 2% weight/volume PHBHHx in 21% O2. Cell migration into films was not observed.
