2Origin of gray-green sandstone in ore bed of sandstone type uranium deposit in north Ordos Basin显示文摘Dongsheng sandstone-type uranium deposit is located in the northern part of Ordos Basin, occurring in the transitional zones between gray-green and gray sandstones of Jurassic Zhiluo Formation. Sandstones in oxidized zone of the ore bed look gray-green, being of unique signature and different from one of ordinary inter-layered oxidation zone of sandstone-type uranium deposits. The character and origin of gray-green sandstones are systematically studied through their petrology, mineralogy and geochemistry. It is pointed out that this color of sandstones is originated from secondary oil-gas reduction processes after paleo-oxidation, being due to acicular-leaf chlorite covering surfaces of the sandstone grains. 4Numerical modeling of the anomalous post-rift subsidence in the Baiyun Sag,Pearl River Mouth Basin显示文摘The Baiyun Sag is the deepest sag in the Pearl River Mouth Basin in northern continental margin of South China Sea,with the maximum sediment thickness over 12.5 km above the basement including >6.5 km sediments above the 30 Ma breakup unconformity.According to the theoretical models for the rifted basins,the post-rift subsidence is driven solely by the thermal contraction and can be calculated as the function of the lithospheric stretching factor.A method combining the forward modeling and reverse backstripping was designed to estimate lithospheric stretching factor.Using the 2D forward modeling based on the flexural cantilever model,we simulated the multi-rifting process of the Baiyun Sag with constrain of the backstripped profiles.By doing this the lithospheric stretching factor was obtained,and then the theoretical post-rift subsidence was calculated.The calculated theoretical subsidence was much smaller than the observed subsidence given by backstripping.Along the 1530 line in the Baiyun Sag,the anomalous post-rift subsidence is over 2 km in the sag center,and varies slightly to the north and south edges of the sag.This suggests that the anomalous post-rift subsidence continues beyond the sag both in the continental shelf to the north and in the continental slope to the south.The sensitivity tests in the forward modeling process indicate that only the use of low-angle faults (≤13°) can we simulate the shape of the backstripped profile.LIAO Jie ZHOU Di ZHAO ZhongXian ZHANG YunFan XU ZiYing 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,8:14
5Demystifying the manipulation of host immunity, metabolism, and extraintestinal tumors by the gut microbiome显示文摘The trillions of microorganisms in the gut microbiome have attracted much attention recently owing to their sophisticated and widespread impacts on numerous aspects of host pathophysiology.Remarkable progress in large-scale sequencing and mass spectrometry has increased our understanding of the influence of the microbiome and/or its metabolites on the onset and progression of extraintestinal cancers and the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy.Given the plasticity in microbial composition and function,microbial-based therapeutic interventions,including dietary modulation,prebiotics,and probiotics,as well as fecal microbial transplantation,potentially permit the development of novel strategies for cancer therapy to improve clinical outcomes.Herein,we summarize the latest evidence on the involvement of the gut microbiome in host immunity and metabolism,the effects of the microbiome on extraintestinal cancers and the immune response,and strategies to modulate the gut microbiome,and we discuss ongoing studies and future areas of research that deserve focused research efforts.Ziying Zhang Haosheng Tang Peng Chen Hui Xie Yongguang Tao 2019Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2019,4,1:11

7Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric cancer with peritoneal metastasis:A multicenter propensity scorematched cohort study显示文摘Objective:Systemic chemotherapy has limited efficacy in the treatment of peritoneal metastasis(PM)in gastric cancer(GC).Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC)combined with complete cytoreductive surgery(CRS)has shown promising outcomes but remains controversial.The present study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of HIPEC without CRS in GC patients with PM.Methods:This retrospective propensity score-matched multicenter cohort study included GC patients with PM treated with either chemotherapy alone(Cx group)or with HIPEC combined with chemotherapy(HIPEC-Cx group)in four Chinese high-volume gastric medical centers between 2010 and 2017.The primary outcomes were median survival time(MST)and 3-year overall survival(OS).Propensity score matching was performed to compensate for controlling potential confounding effects and selection bias.Results:Of 663 eligible patients,498 were matched.The MST in the Cx and HIPEC-Cx groups was 10.8 and 15.9 months,respectively[hazard ratio(HR)=0.71,95%confidence interval(95%CI),0.58-0.88;P=0.002].The 3-year OS rate was 10.1%(95%CI,5.4%-14.8%)and 18.4%(95%CI,12.3%-24.5%)in the Cx and HIPEC-Cx groups,respectively(P=0.017).The complication rates were comparable.The time to first flatus and length of hospital stay for patients undergoing HIPEC combined with chemotherapy was longer than that of chemotherapy alone(4.6±2.4 d vs.2.7±1.8 d,P<0.001;14.2±5.8 d vs.11.4±7.7 d,P<0.001),respectively.The median follow-up period was 33.2 months.Conclusions:Compared with standard systemic chemotherapy,HIPEC combined with chemotherapy revealed a statistically significant survival benefit for GC patients with PM,without compromising patient safety.Ziying Lei Jiahong Wang Zhi Li Baozhong Li Jiali Luo Xuejun Wang Jin Wang MingchenBa Hongsheng Tang Qingjun He Quanxing Liao Xiansheng Yang Tianpei Guan Han Liang Shuzhong Cui 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,6:11

9Deep Reinforcement Learning-Based Computation Offloading for 5G Vehicle-Aware Multi-Access Edge Computing Network显示文摘Multi-access Edge Computing(MEC)is one of the key technologies of the future 5G network.By deploying edge computing centers at the edge of wireless access network,the computation tasks can be offloaded to edge servers rather than the remote cloud server to meet the requirements of 5G low-latency and high-reliability application scenarios.Meanwhile,with the development of IOV(Internet of Vehicles)technology,various delay-sensitive and compute-intensive in-vehicle applications continue to appear.Compared with traditional Internet business,these computation tasks have higher processing priority and lower delay requirements.In this paper,we design a 5G-based vehicle-aware Multi-access Edge Computing network(VAMECN)and propose a joint optimization problem of minimizing total system cost.In view of the problem,a deep reinforcement learningbased joint computation offloading and task migration optimization(JCOTM)algorithm is proposed,considering the influences of multiple factors such as concurrent multiple computation tasks,system computing resources distribution,and network communication bandwidth.And,the mixed integer nonlinear programming problem is described as a Markov Decision Process.Experiments show that our proposed algorithm can effectively reduce task processing delay and equipment energy consumption,optimize computing offloading and resource allocation schemes,and improve system resource utilization,compared with other computing offloading policies.Ziying Wu Danfeng Yan 2021China Communications2021,18,11:9

12Timing of transplantation of autologous bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells for treating myocardial infarction显示文摘It is still unclear whether the timing of intracoronary stem cell therapy affects the therapeutic response in patients with myocardial infarction.The natural course of healing the infarction and the presence of putative homing signals within the damaged myocardium appear to favor cell engraftment during the transendothelial passage in the early days after reperfusion.However,the adverse inflammatory environment,with its high oxidative stress,might be deleterious if cells are administered too early after reperfusion.Here we highlight several aspects of the timing of intracoronary stem cell therapy.Our results showed that transplantation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells at 2 4 weeks after myocardial infarction is more favorable for reduction of the scar area,inhibition of left ventricular remodeling,and recovery of heart function.Coronary injection of autologous bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells at 2 4 weeks after acute myocardial infarction is safe and does not increase the incidence of complications.CHEN YiHuan TENG XiaoMei CHEN WeiQian YANG JunJie YANG ZiYing YU YunSheng SHEN ZhenYa 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,2:7
13Long-term trends in fog and boundary layer characteristics in Tianjin,China显示文摘Long-term trends in fog episodes,vertical variations of atmospheric boundary structure,and air pollutant concentrations during two different heavy fog events in the Tianjin area were analyzed.The total amount of fog has increased since 1980 due to the stability of the boundary layer and an increase of pollutant emissions.The variation in the characteristics of the boundary layer and air pollutant concentrations were significantly different between the two fog processes(fog 1 and fog II).The onset of fog I was accompanied by a temperature inversion in the low atmosphere,and the average kinetic energy showed a clear diurnal trend and vertical variation,which increased with height.The dissipation of fog I was mainly due to turbulence.However,the atmospheric stratification was not stable in the lower layer before the onset of fog II.The diurnal and vertical changes in kinetic energy were very small,in which turbulent momentum at each measurement height tended to be zero.In the dissipation process of fog II,wind speed increased significantly.Surface PM_(2.)5 concentrations decreased,but the ratio of PM_(2.5) to PM_(10)increased from 0.66 to 0.82 until fog I dissipated.However,the concentration of PM2.5 did not decrease at the early stage of fog II,but the ratio of PM_(2.5) to PM_(10) PM_(2.5)/PM_(10) decreased to 0.21 when fog II dissipated.This study showed that there was a clear difference in the evolution of pollutant concentration for different pollutants and in different developing stages during the fog events.PM2.5 concentration accumulated faster than those of SO_2 and NO_x,and the PM_(2.5) cumulative rate was greater in the mid-term of the fog process.Suqin Han Ziying Cai Yufen Zhang Jiao Wang Qing Yao Peiyan Li Xiangjin Li 2015Particuology2015,13,3:7
14Effects of erythropoietin on the expression of tumor necrosis factor-alpha and Bax after facial nerve axotomy in rats显示文摘This study sought to evaluate the effect of high-dose erythropoietin (EPO;5 000 IU/kg) on the expression of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and Bax in the facial nucleus after facial nerve transection in rats.A total of 42 Wistar rats of both genders were used in this study,and 40 rats were randomly divided into 2 groups:EPO group and model group.The EPO group was treated with EPO once a day for 5 days at a dose of 5 000 IU/kg body weight.The model group was treated with saline of the same amount.At day 3 after EPO (or saline) treatment,the right facial nerves of the 40 rats were transected at the level of the stylomastoid foramen,with the left sides untreated.The remaining 2 rats that did not undergo axotomy served as the control group.The surviving motor neurons in operated rats were counted in coronal paraffin sections of the facial nucleus.The expression of TNF-α and Bax in the facial nucleus was detected by immunohistochemical staining at days 3,7,14,21,and 28 after axotomy.At days 14,21,and 28 after facial nerve axotomy,a significantly greater proportion of facial motor neurons survived in the EPO group than in the model group.After axotomy,the expression of TNF-α and Bax increased in motor neurons in both the EPO and the model groups.TNF-α expression reached its peak level at day 14 after axotomy,while Bax expression reached its peak level at day 21.TNF-α expression was much lower in the EPO group than in the model group at all time points.No significant difference in Bax expression was found between the EPO and the model groups.These results indicate that high-dose EPO treatment attenuates the increase in TNF-α expression in the facial nucleus and reduces the loss of motor neurons after facial nerve transection in rats.However,high-dose EPO treatment has little effect on Bax expression.Wei Zhang Shengyu Lue Ziying Yu Ming Bi Bin Sun 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,6:6
15Platelet-rich plasma combined with injectable hyaluronic acid hydrogel for porcine cartilage regeneration: a 6-month follow-up显示文摘Based on our previous study,the utilization of an ultraviolet light photo-cross-linkable hyaluronic acid(HA)hydrogel integrated with a small molecule kartogenin-encapsulated nanoparticles obtained good reconstruction of osteochondral defects in a rabbit model,indicating the superiority of injectable hydrogel-based scaffolds in cartilage tissue engineering.Platelet-rich plasma(PRP),rich in various growth factors,proteins and cytokines,is considered to facilitate cartilage healing by stimulating cell proliferation and inducing chondrogenesis in cartilage defect site.The aim of this study was to test the therapeutic feasibility of autologous PRP combined with injectable HA hydrogel on cartilage repair.The focal cartilage defects with different critical sizes in the medial femoral condyle of a porcine model were used.At 6 months,the minipigs were sacrificed for assessment of macroscopic appearance,magnetic resonance imaging,micro-computed tomography,histology staining and biomechanics.The HA hydrogel combined with PRP-treated group showed more hyaline-like cartilage exhibited by macroscopic appearance and histological staining in terms of extracellular matrix and type II collagen without formation of hypertrophic cartilage,indicating its capacity to improve cartilage healing in the minipig model evaluated at 6 months,with full-thickness cartilage defect of 8.5mm diameter and osteochondral defect of 6.5mm diameter,5mm depth exhibiting apparent regeneration.Wenqiang Yan Xingquan Xu Qian Xu Ziying Sun Qing Jiang Dongquan Shi 2020Regenerative Biomaterials2020,7,1:6

17s-HBEGF/SIRT1 circuit-dictated crosstalk between vascular endothelial cells and keratinocytes mediates sorafenib-induced hand-foot skin reaction that can be reversed by nicotinamide显示文摘Hand-foot skin reaction(HFSR),among the most significant adverse effects of sorafenib,has been limiting the clinical benefits of this frontline drug in treating various malignant tumors.The mechanism underlying such toxicity remains poorly understood,hence the absence of effective intervention strategies.In the present study,we show that vascular endothelial cells are the primary cellular target of sorafenib-induced HFSR wherein soluble heparin-binding epidermal growth factor(s-HBEGF)mediates the crosstalk between vascular endothelial cells and keratinocytes.Mechanistically,s-HBEGF released from vascular endothelial cells activates the epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)on keratinocytes and promotes the phosphorylation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase 2(JNK2),which stabilizes sirtuin 1(SIRT1),an essential keratinization inducer,and ultimately gives rise to HFSR.The administration of s-HBEGF in vivo could sufficiently induce hyper-keratinization without sorafenib treatment.Furthermore,we report that HBEGF neutralization antibody,Sirtl knockdown,and a classic SIRTI inhibitor nicotinamide could all significantly reduce the sorafenib-induced HFSR in the mouse model.It is noteworthy that nicotinic acid,a prodrug of nicotinamide,could substantially reverse the sorafenib-induced HFSR in ten patients in a preliminary clinical study.Collectively,our findings reveal the mechanism of vascular endothelial cell-promoted keratinization in keratinocytes and provide a potentially promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of sorafenib-induced HFSR.Peihua Luo Hao Yan Xueqin Chen Ying Zhang Ziying Zhao Ji Cao Yi Zhu Jiangxia Du Zhifei Xu Xiaochen Zhang Su Zeng Bo Yang Shenglin Ma Qiaojun He 2020Cell Research2020,30,9:5
18A multi-institutional retrospective study of hyperthermic plus intravesical chemotherapy versus intravesical chemotherapy treatment alone in intermediate and high risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer显示文摘Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of hyperthermic intravesical chemotherapy(HIVEC)and intravesical chemotherapy(IVEC)in patients with intermediate and high risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC)after transurethral resection.Methods:We included 560 patients diagnosed with primary or recurrent NMIBC between April 2009 and December 2015 at 1 of 6 tertiary centers.We matched 364 intermediate or high risk cases and divided them into 2 groups:the HIVEC+IVEC group[chemohyperthermia(CHT)composed of 3 consecutive sessions followed by intravesical instillation without hyperthermia]and the IVEC group(intravesical instillation without hyperthermia).The data were recorded in the database.The primary endpoint was 2-year recurrence-free survival(RFS)in all NMIBC patients(n=364),whereas the secondary endpoints were the assessment of radical cystectomy(RC)and 5-year overall survival(OS).Results:There was a significant difference in the 2-year RFS between the two groups in all patients(n=364;HIVEC+IVEC:82.42%vs.IVEC:74.18%,P=0.038).Compared with the IVEC group,the HIVEC+IVEC group had a lower incidence of RC(P=0.0274).However,the 5-year OS was the same between the 2 groups(P=0.1434).Adverse events(AEs)occurred in 32.7%of all patients,but none of the events was serious(grades 3–4).No difference in the incidence or severity of AEs between each treatment modality was observed.Conclusions:This retrospective study showed that HIVEC+IVEC had a higher 2-year RFS and a lower incidence of RC than IVEC therapy in intermediate and high risk NMIBC patients.Both treatments were well-tolerated in a similar manner.Qiang Ruan Degang Ding Bin Wang Chaohong He Xuequn Ren Zhenhua Feng Zhigang Pang Jin Wang Xiangliang Zhang Hongsheng Tang Jiahong Wang Qingjun He Ziying Lei Quanxing Liao Jiali Luo Shuzhong Cui 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1:4
19Microbial electro-fermentation for synthesis of chemicals and biofuels driven by bi-directional extracellular electron transfer显示文摘Electroactive bacteria could perform bi-directional extracellular electron transfer(EET)to exchange electrons and energy with extracellular environments,thus playing a central role in microbial electro-fermentation(EF)process.Unbalanced fermentation and microbial electrosynthesis are the main pathways to produce value-added chemicals and biofuels.However,the low efficiency of the bi-directional EET is a dominating bottleneck in these processes.In this review,we firstly demonstrate the main bi-directional EET mechanisms during EF,including the direct EET and the shuttle-mediated EET.Then,we review representative milestones and progresses in unbalanced fermentation via anode outward EET and microbial electrosynthesis via inward EET based on these two EET mechanisms in detail.Furthermore,we summarize the main synthetic biology strategies in improving the bi-directional EET and target products synthesis,thus to enhance the efficiencies in unbalanced fermentation and microbial electrosynthesis.Lastly,a perspective on the applications of microbial electro-fermentation is provided.Ziying Gong Huan Yu Junqi Zhang Feng Li Hao Song 2020Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2020,5,4:4
