1Polymorphisms in PPARD,PPARG and APM1 associated with four types of Traditional Chinese Medicine constitutions显示文摘Based on the theory of constitution of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the human population is divided into nine constitutions including one balanced constitution (Normality) and eight unbalanced constitutions (Yang-deficiency, Yin-deficiency, Phlegm-wetness, Qi-deficiency, Wetness-heat, Blood stasis, Depressed constitution, and Inherited special constitution). Different constitutions have specific metabolic features and different susceptibility to certain diseases. However, whether a genetic basis accounts for such constitution classifica-tion is yet to be determined. Here we performed a genetic study to assess the association between genetic variations of metabolic genes in-cluding PPARD, PPARG and APM1 and the constitutions. A total of 233 individuals of the Han population in China were classified into four groups, Normality, Yang-deficiency, Yin-deficiency and Phlegm-wetness with whom 23 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the three genes were genotyped using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method. Biased distri-bution of PPARD rs2267669 and rs2076167, APM1 rs7627128 and rs1063539 in Yang-deficiency, PPARG Pro12Ala in Yin-deficiency and PPARD rs2076167, APM1 rs266729 and rs7627128 in Phlegm-wetness were observed. The frequencies of Haplotype13 (Hap13) of PPARG in Yin-deficiency, Hap25 of APM1 in Yang-deficiency and Hap2 of PPARD and Hap14 of PPARG in Phlegm-wetness, were significantly different from those in Normality, suggesting those might be group-associated haplotypes. 2Spiral Steel Wire Based Fiber-Shaped Stretchable and Tailorable Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Wearable Power Source and Active Gesture Sensor显示文摘Continuous deforming always leads to the performance degradation of a flexible triboelectric nanogenerator due to the Young’s modulus mismatch of different functional layers.In this work,we fabricated a fiber-shaped stretchable and tailorable triboelectric nanogenerator(FST-TENG)based on the geometric construction of a steel wire as electrode and ingenious selection of silicone rubber as triboelectric layer.Owing to the great robustness and continuous conductivity,the FST-TENGs demonstrate high stability,stretchability,and even tailorability.For a single device with ~6 cm in length and ~3 mm in diameter,the open-circuit voltage of ~59.7 V,transferred charge of ~23.7 nC,short-circuit current of ~2.67 μA and average power of ~2.13 μW can be obtained at 2.5 Hz.By knitting several FST-TENGs to be a fabric or a bracelet,it enables to harvest human motion energy and then to drive a wearable electronic device.Finally,it can also be woven on dorsum of glove to monitor the movements of gesture,which can recognize every single finger,different bending angle,and numbers of bent finger by analyzing voltage signals.Lingjie Xie Xiaoping Chen Zhen Wen Yanqin Yang Jihong Shi Chen Chen Mingfa Peng Yina Liu Xuhui Sun 2019Nano-Micro Letters2019,11,3:13
3Medicago AP2-Domain Transcription Factor WRI5a Is a Master Regulator of Lipid Biosynthesis and Transfer during Mycorrhizal Symbiosis显示文摘Most land plants have evolved a mutualistic symbiosis with arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM)fungi that improve nutrient acquisition from the soil.In return,up to 20% of host plant photosynthate is transferred to the mycorrhizal fungus in the form of lipids and sugar.Nutrient exchange must be regulated by both partners in order to maintain a reliable symbiotic relationship.However,the mechanisms underlying the regulation of lipid transfer from the plantto the AM fungus remain elusive.Here,we show that the Medicago truncatula AP2/EREBP transcription factor WRI5a,and likely its two homologs WRI5b/Erfl and WRI5c,are master regulators of AM symbiosis Controlling lipid transfer and periarbuscular membrane formation.We found that WRI5a binds AW-box cis-regulatory elements in the promoters of M.truncatula STR,which encodes a periarbuscular membrane-localized ABC transporter required for lipid transfer from the plant to the AM fungus, and MtPT4,whichr encodes a phosphate transporter required for phosphate transfer from the AM fungus to the plant.The hairy roots of the M.truncatula wti5a mutant and RNAi composite plants displayed impaired arbuscule formation,whereas overexpression of WRI5a resulted in enhanced expression of STR and MtPT4,suggesting that WRI5a regulates bidirectional symbiotic nutrient exchange.Moreover,we found that WRI5a and RAM1(Required for Arbuscular Mycorrhization symbiosis 1),which encodes a GRASdomain transcription factor,regulate each other at the transcriptional level,forming a positive feedback loop for regulatingAM symbiosis.Collectively,our data suggest a role for WRI5a in controlling bidirectional nutrient exchange and periarbuscular membrane formation via the regulation of genes involved in the biosynthesis of fatty acids and phosphate uptake in arbuscule-containing cells.Yina Jiang Qiujin Xie Wanxiao Wang Jun Yang Xiaowei Zhang Nan Yu Yun Zhou Ertao Wang 2018Molecular Plant2018,11,11:10

5Triboelectric–Electromagnetic Hybrid Generator for Harvesting Blue Energy显示文摘Progress has been developed in harvesting lowfrequency and irregular blue energy using a triboelectric–electromagnetic hybrid generator in recent years. However,the design of the high-efficiency, mechanically durable hybrid structure is still challenging. In this study, we report a fully packaged triboelectric–electromagnetic hybrid generator(TEHG), in which magnets were utilized as the trigger to drive contact–separation-mode triboelectric nanogenerators(CS-TENGs) and coupled with copper coils to operate rotary freestanding-mode electromagnetic generators(RF-EMGs). The magnet pairs that produce attraction were used to transfer the external mechanical energy to the CS-TENGs, and packaging of the CS-TENGpart was achieved to protect it from the ambient environment. Under a rotatory speed of 100 rpm, the CS-TENGs enabled the TEHG to deliver an output voltage, current,and average power of 315.8 V, 44.6 μA, and ~ 90.7 μW,and the output of the RF-EMGs was 0.59 V, 1.78 m A, and 79.6 μW, respectively. The cylinder-like structure made the TEHG more easily driven by water flow and demonstrated to work as a practical power source to charge commercial capacitors. 6Cross-talk between NMDA and GABA_A receptors in cultured neurons of the rat inferior colliculus显示文摘Neuronal ion channels of different types often do not function independently but will inhibit or potentiate the activity of other types of channels,a process called cross-talk.The N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDA receptor) and the γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor (GABAA receptor) are important excitatory and inhibitory receptors in the central nervous system,respectively.Currently,cross-talk between the NMDA receptor and the GABAA receptor,particularly in the central auditory system,is not well understood.In the present study,we investigated functional interactions between the NMDA receptor and the GABAA receptor using whole-cell patch-clamp techniques in cultured neurons from the inferior colliculus,which is an important nucleus in the central auditory system.We found that the currents induced by aspartate at 100 μmol L-1 were suppressed by the pre-perfusion of GABA at 100 μmol L-1,indicating cross-inhibition of NMDA receptors by activation of GABAA receptors.Moreover,we found that the currents induced by GABA at 100 μmol L-1 (IGABA) were not suppressed by the pre-perfusion of 100 μmol L-1 aspartate,but those induced by GABA at 3 μmol L-1 were suppressed,indicating concentration-dependent cross-inhibition of GABAA receptors by activation of NMDA receptors.In addition,inhibition of IGABA by aspartate was not affected by blockade of voltage-dependent Ca2+ channels with CdCl2 in a solution that contained Ca2+,however,CdCl2 effectively attenuated the inhibition of IGABA by aspartate when it was perfused in a solution that contained Ba2+ instead of Ca2+ or a solution that contained Ca2+ and 10 mmol L-1 BAPTA,a membrane-permeable Ca2+ chelator,suggesting that this inhibition is mediated by Ca2+ influx through NMDA receptors,rather than voltage-dependent Ca2+ channels.Finally,KN-62,a potent inhibitor of Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII),reduced the inhibition of IGABA by aspartate,indicating the involvement of CaMKII in this cross-inhibition.Our study demonstrates a functional interaction between NMDA and GABAA receptors in the inferior colliculus of rats.The presence of cross-talk between these receptors suggests that the mechanisms underlying information processing in the central auditory system may be more complex than previously believed.CONG DanNi TANG ZhengQuan LI LongZhu HUANG YiNa WANG Jun CHEN Lin 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,6:9
7On analyzing space-time distribution of evaporation duct height over the global ocean显示文摘The statistical features of the evaporation duct over the global ocean were comprehensively investigated with reanalysis data sets from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction.These data sets have time and spatial resolutions of 1 h and 0.313°×0.312°,respectively.The efficiency of the analysis was evaluated by processing weather buoy data from the Pacific Ocean and measuring propagation loss in the Yellow Sea of China.The distribution features of evaporation duct height(EDH) and the related meteorological factors for different seas were analyzed.The global EDH is generally high and demonstrates a latitudinal distribution for oceans at low latitudes.The average EDH is approximately 11 m over oceans beside the equator with a latitude of less than 20°.The reasons for the formation of the global EDH features were also analyzed for different sea areas.YANG Kunde ZHANG Qi SHI Yang HE Zhengyao LEI Bo HAN Yina 2016Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,7:8

11Size-resolved carbonaceous components and water-soluble ions measurements of ambient aerosol in Beijing显示文摘A MOUDI-120 sampler was used in Beijing to collect multi-stage samples in the summer and winter of 2013 to 2015. Thirty-three sample sets were collected during the daytime,nighttime, and different pollution levels. The actual relative humidity in the impactors was calculated for the first time. The carbonaceous components(organic and elemental carbon,OC and EC, respectively) and water-soluble inorganic ions(Na^+, NH_4^+, K^+, Mg^(2+), Ca^(2+), Cl^-, NO_3^-,and SO_4^(2-)) were analyzed in each sample. The characteristics of the mass concentration distribution and charge balance were discussed. On the basis of relative humidity in the impactors, aerosols less than 1.0 μm were sampled under relatively dry conditions in most cases. The concentration levels for the chemical species were higher in the winter than in the summer. Three modes(condensation mode, droplet mode, and coarse mode) could be identified from the distributions of NH_4^+, NO_3^-, SO_4^(2-), Cl^-, K^+, OC and EC. The distribution characteristics for the pollution dissipation process were different from the pollution accumulation process. NO_3^-and NO_2^-contributed most of the negative electric charges in the stage below 0.1 μm. In the condensation mode, the cations were dominated by NH_4^+, which was sufficient to balance the anions. In the droplet mode of the heavily polluted samples,the ammonium was not sufficient to balance the anions. In the coarse mode, the positive electric charges were primarily composed of metal cations. 12Synthetic biology of plant natural products: From pathway elucidation to engineered biosynthesis in plant cells显示文摘Plant natural products(PNPs)are the main sources of drugs,food additives,and new biofuels and have become a hotspot in synthetic biology.In the past two decades,the engineered biosynthesis of many PNPs has been achieved through the construction of microbial cell factories.Alongside the rapid development of plant physiology,genetics,and plant genetic modification techniques,hosts have now expanded from single-celled microbes to complex plant systems.Plant synthetic biology is an emerging field that combines engineering principles with plant biology.In this review,we introduce recent advances in the biosynthetic pathway elucidation of PNPs and summarize the progress of engineered PNP biosynthesis in plant cells.Furthermore,a future vision of plant synthetic biology is proposed.Although we are still a long way from overcoming all the bottlenecks in plant synthetic biology,the ascent of this field is expected to provide a huge opportunity for future agriculture and industry.Xiaoxi Zhu Xiaonan Liu Tian Liu Yina Wang Nida Ahmed Zhichao Li Huifeng Jiang 2021Plant Communications2021,2,5:4
13The Rapidly Changing Arctic and Its Impact on Global Climate显示文摘Arctic sea ice has significant seasonal variability. Prior to the 2000 s, it retreated about 15% in summer and fully recovered in winter. However, by the year 2007, Arctic sea ice extent experienced a catastrophic decline to about 4.28×10^6 km^2, which was 50% lower than conditions in the 1950 s to the 1970 s(Serreze et al., 2008). That was a record low over the course of the modern satellite record, since 1979(note that the year 2012 became the new record low). This astonishing event drew wide-ranging attention in 2007-2009 during the 4 th International Polar Year. The dramatic decline of sea ice attracts many scientists’ interest and has become the focus of intense research since then. Currently, sea ice retreat is not only appearing around the marginal ice zone, but also in the pack ice inside the central Arctic(Zhao et al., 2018). In fact, premonitory signs had already been seen through other evidence. Before the disintegration of the Soviet Union, US naval submarines had been conducting an extensive survey under the sea ice and taking measurements of sea ice thickness. Their measurements revealed a gradual decrease of ice thickness to 1.8 m during winter by the end of the 20 th century, in contrast to the climatological mean of 3.1 m(Rothrock et al., 1999). 14Separation and simultaneous quantitation of PGF2α and its epimer 8-iso-PGF2α using modifier-assisted differential mobility spectrometry tandem mass spectrometry显示文摘Because many therapeutic agents are contaminated by epimeric impurities or form epimers as a result of metabolism, analytical tools capable of determining epimers are increasingly in demand. This article is a proof-of-principle report of a novel DMS–MS/MS method to separate and simultaneously quantify epimers, taking PGF2α and its 8-epimer, 8-iso-PGF2α, as an example. Good accuracy and precision were achieved in the range of 10–500 ng/m L with a run time of only 1.5 min. Isopropanol as organic modifier facilitated a good combination of sensitivity and separation. 15Rapid solidification of undercooled Al-Cu-Si eutectic alloys显示文摘Under the conventional solidification condition,a liquid aluminium alloy can be hardly undercooled because of oxidation. In this work,rapid solidification of an undercooled liquid Al80.4Cu13.6Si6 ternary eutectic alloy was realized by the glass fluxing method combined with recycled superheating. The re-lationship between superheating and undercooling was investigated at a certain cooling rate of the alloy melt. The maximum undercooling is 147 K (0.18TE). The undercooled ternary eutectic is composed of α(Al) solid solution,(Si) semiconductor and θ(CuAl2) intermetallic compound. In the (Al+Si+θ) ternary eutectic,(Si) faceted phase grows independently,while (Al) and θ non-faceted phases grow coopera-tively in the lamellar mode. When undercooling is small,only (Al) solid solution forms as the leading phase. Once undercooling exceeds 73 K,(Si) phase nucleates firstly and grows as the primary phase. The alloy microstructure consists of primary (Al) dendrite,(Al+θ) pseudobinary eutectic and (Al+Si+θ) ternary eutectic at small undercooling,while at large undercooling primary (Si) block,(Al+θ) pseudo-binary eutectic and (Al+Si+θ) ternary eutectic coexist. 16Asymmetric neurocognitive representation of ethnic in-group/out-group faces显示文摘To investigate asymmetric neurocognitive representation of ethnic in-group and out-group members, we recorded event-related potentials (ERPs) to faces in a perceptual task after the faces had been primed with positive or negative affective links. The affective link priming did not influence the ERPs to ethnic out-group faces. However, relative to the positive affective link priming, the negative affective link priming increased the amplitudes of an early frontal negativity (N100) and a following central negativity but decreased the amplitude of a late positive potential elicited by ethnic in-group faces. Moreover, the N100 amplitude correlated with the degree of negative attitudes towards ethnic in-group faces. 17Study of brain morphology change in Alzheimer’s disease and amnestic mild cognitive impairment compared with normal controls显示文摘Background With an aggravated social ageing level, the number of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) is gradually increasing, and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is considered to be an early form of Alzheimer's disease. How to distinguish diseases in the early stage for the purposes of early diagnosis and treatment is an important topic. Aims The purpose of our study was to investigate the differences in brain cortical thickness and surface area among elderly patients with AD, elderly patients with amnestic MCI (aMCI) and normal controls (NC). Methods 20 AD patients, 21 aMCIs and 25 NC were recruited in the study. FreeSurfer software was used to calculate cortical thickness and surface area among groups. Results The patients with AD had less cortical thickness both in the left and right hemisphere in 17 of the 36 brain regions examined than the patients with aMCI or NC. The patients with AD also had smaller cerebral surface area both in the left and right hemisphere in 3 of the 36 brain regions examined than the patients with aMCI or NC. Compared with the NC, the patients with aMCI only had slight atrophy in the inferior parietal lobe of the left hemisphere, and no significant difference was found. Conclusion AD, as well as aMCI (to a lesser extent), is associated with reduced cortical thickness and surface area in a few brain regions associated with cognitive impairment. 19CO flux of soil respiration in natural recovering karst abandoned farmland in Southwest China显示文摘To estimate carbon sequestration potential in the karst area,soil respiration in a natural recovering karst abandoned farmland in Shawan,Puding,Guizhou,southwest China was continuously and automatically monitored for more than two years.The results show that the CO2flux of soil respiration(2.63±1.89 lmol m^-2s-^1)is higher in the karst area than in non-karst areas under similar conditions but that regional value(1.32 lmol m-2s-1)is lower because of larger rock fragment coverage(~50%).A the same time,the temperature sensitivity of soil respiration(Q10)in this study area is significantly higher than that of non-karst areas under similar conditions.Soil respiration has an obvious temporal variation,which is reflected in a significant exponential relationship between soil respiration and soil temperature,but the relationship between soil respiration and soil moisture is very complex.Especially soil respiration has an obvious spatial variation,which is likely affected by different diffusion or water-rock reaction processes.Yanwei Wang Weijun Luo Guangneng Zeng Hanling Yang Meifang Wang Yina Lyu Anyun Cheng Lin Zhang Xianli Cai Jia Chen Shijie Wang 2020Acta Geochimica2020,39,4:2
20Analysis of Expression Profiles of Long Noncoding RNAs and mRNAs in A549 Cells Infected with H3N2 Swine Influenza Virus by RNA Sequencing显示文摘Long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)participate in regulating many biological processes.However,their roles in influenza A virus(IAV)pathogenicity are largely unknown.Here,we analyzed the expression profiles of lncRNAs and mRNAs in H3N2-infected cells and mock-infected cells by high-throughput sequencing.The results showed that 6129 lncRNAs and 50,031 mRNA transcripts in A549 cells displayed differential expression after H3N2 infection compared with mock infection.Among the differentially expressed lncRNAs,4963 were upregulated,and 1166 were downregulated.Functional annotation and enrichment analysis using gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes databases(KEGG)suggested that target genes of the differentially expressed lncRNAs were enriched in some biological processes,such as cellular metabolism and autophagy.The up-or downregulated lncRNAs were selected and further verified by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)and reverse transcription PCR(RT-PCR).To the best of our knowledge,this is the first report of a comparative expression analysis of lncRNAs in A549 cells infected with H3N2.Our results support the need for further analyses of the functions of differentially expressed lncRNAs during H3N2 infection.Yina Zhang Tianqi Yu Yingnan Ding Yahui Li Jing Lei Boli Hu Jiyong Zhou 2020Virologica Sinica2020,35,2:2
