| 1 | Diagnostic and prognostic value of minor elevated cardiac troponin levels for percutaneous coronary intervention-related myocardial injury:a prospective,single-center and double-blind study显示文摘Cardiac troponin-I(cTnI) and-T(cTnT) are sensitive and specific markers of myocardial injury.However,the role of increased cTnI and cTnT in percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)-related myocardial injury remains controversial.In this prospective,single-center and double-blind study,we aimed to determine the diagnostic and prognostic value of cTnI as well as cTnT(cTns) in PCI-related myocardial injury in a Chinese population.A total of 1,008 patients with stable angina pectoris and non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome were recruited.The levels of cTnI and cTnT were examined before and after PCI.All patients were followed up for26±9 months to observe the incidence of major adverse cardiac events(MACEs).Our results showed that postPCI cTnI and/or cTnT levels were increased to more than the 99^(th) percentile upper reference limit(URL) in 133(13.2%) patients,among which 22(2.2%) were more than 5×99^(th) percentile URL.By univariate analysis,an elevation in cTns after PCI was not an independent predictor of increased MACEs,HR 1.35(P = 0.33,95%CI:0.74-2.46).In conclusion,our data demonstrate that the incidence of PCI-related myocardial injury is not common in a Chinese population and minor elevated cTns levels may not be a sensitive prognostic marker for MACEs. | Min Zhang Huiwei He Ze-Mu Wang Zhihui Xu Ningtian Zhou Zhengxian Tao Bo Chen Chunjian Li Tiebing Zhu Di Yang Liansheng Wang Zhijian Yang | 2014 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,2: | 12 |

| 3 | Assessment of the immune responses to Treponema pallidum Gpd DNA vaccine adjuvanted with IL-2 and chitosan nanoparticles before and after Treponema pallidum challenge in rabbits显示文摘Syphilis is a multistage,sexually transmitted disease caused by the spirochete,Treponema pallidum(Tp).A significantly high incidence of syphilis has been reported in several countries,including China,and there is an urgent need for the development of efficacious vaccines against syphilis.DNA vaccines are a major breakthrough in the field of vaccination with several advantages over traditional vaccines.Animal model studies of Tp DNA vaccines have not been reported elsewhere but our previous reports describe the development of a single-gene Tp DNA vaccine and preclinical immunization study.In this study,chitosan(CS) nanoparticles were used as a vector and an interleukin-2 expression plasmid(pIL-2) as an adjuvant to enhance a TpGpd DNA vaccine candidate(pTpGpd) in a rabbit Tp skin challenge model.At week 8 after the first immunization,three rabbits from each group were used to determine cytokine measurements and spleen lymphocyte proliferation assay.pTpGpd in combination with pIL-2 wrapped with CS led to the greatest enhancement of anti-TpGpd antibodies and T-cell proliferation.During infection,levels of anti-TpGpd antibodies and T-cell proliferation were measured.Both the serum special IgG and IL-2,interferon-γ were significantly increased by the co-injection of the IL-2 plasmid compared with the injection of TpGpd DNA alone(P<0.05).Furthermore,IL-2 plasmid coinjection efficiently enhanced the antigen-specific lymphocyte proliferation response.Additionally,the ratios of positive skin lesions and ulcer lesions in groups immunized with pTpGpd were significantly lower than those of the pIL-2,CS or pIL-2 mixed with CS control groups(P<0.001).CS vectored and pIL-2 adjuvanted pTpGpd immunized animals exhibited the lowest rates of positive skin tests(8.33%) and ulcer lesions(4.17%) and the fastest recovery(42 d).These experiments indicate that co-injection of a pIL-2 plasmid with pTpGpd DNA vaccine wrapped with CS can significantly strengthen the long-term stability of immune response during infection,efficiently improve the protective effect against T.pallidum spirochetes infection and attenuate syphilitic lesion development. | ZHAO FeiJun ZHANG XiaoHong LIU ShuangQuan ZENG TieBing YU Jian GU WeiMing ZHANG YueJun CHEN Xi WU YiMou | 2013 | Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,2: | 8 |

| 5 | Calculation Model for the Propagation of Audible Noise from High Voltage Transmission Lines显示文摘Audible noise from high voltage transmission lines’ corona discharge has become one of the decisive factors affecting design of high voltage transmission lines, thus it is very important to study the spatial propagation characteristics of audible noise for its accurate pre- diction. A calculation model for the propagation of audible noise is presented in this paper, which is based on the basic equation of the sound wave and can involve the influences of the atmosphere absorption and ground effects. The effects of different ground impedances and the atmospheric attenuation on the distribution of sound pressure level are discussed in this paper. The results show that the atmospheric absorp- tion may increase the attenuation of the audible noise, and the ground surface affects both the amplitude and phase of the sound. The spatial distribution fluctuates considering the ground effects. The atmospheric attenuation and the ground effect are closely related to the frequency of the noise. | 6 | Geochemistry of ore-forming fluids and geological significance of the Kuoerzhenkuola gold field in Xinjiang, China显示文摘The Kuoerzhenkuola gold field (including the Kuoerzhenkuola and the Buerkesidai gold deposits) is the most important one in the Sawuer gold belt, northern Xinjiang, China. Iso-topic studies including D, O, He, C, S, Pb and Sr reveal that the ore-forming fluids of the Kuo-erzhenkuola and the Buerkesidai deposits shared the same source: the water of ore fluids was magmatic water and minor meteoric water; the mineralizers and ore materials derived mainly from mantle beneath the island arc, and partially from crust. The ore-forming fluids of two depos-its are a mixture of mantle-derived fluids incorporated by crust-derived fluid, and meteoric water. | 7 | Cloning and characterization of vernalization-related gene (ver203F) cDNA 3'end显示文摘Based on the cDNA fragment sequence of vernalization-related gene verc203 cloned by differential screening in our lab, the 5′primer has been designed. The cDNA 3′end of ver203 gene (1 197 bp) has been cloned by the RACE method. And it is identified by Northern blotting that its expression is special in vernalization treatment. After comparing the sequence in the nucleotide sequence databases of Genbank, EMBL and DDBJ, the gene has homology with Hordeum vulgare jesmonate-induced protein gene. | 11 | Npy deletion in an alcohol non-preferring rat model elicits differential effects on alcohol consumption and body weight显示文摘Neuropeptide Y(NPY) is widely expressed in the central nervous system and influences many physiological processes.It is located within the rat quantitative trait locus(QTL) for alcohol preference on chromosome 4.Alcohol-nonpreferring(NP) rats consume very little alcohol,but have significantly higher NPY expression in the brain than alcohol-preferring(P) rats.We capitalized on this phenotypic difference by creating an Npy knockout(KO) rat using the inbred NP background to evaluate NPY effects on alcohol consumption.Zinc finger nuclease(ZNF) technology was applied,resulting in a 26-bp deletion in the Npy gene.RT-PCR,Western blotting and immunohistochemistry confirmed the absence of Npy mRNA and protein in KO rats.Alcohol consumption was increased in Npy^(+/-) but not Npy^(-/-) rats,while Npy^(-/-) rats displayed significantly lower body weight when compared to Npy^(+/+) rats.In whole brain tissue,expression levels of Npy-related and other alcohol-associated genes,Npy1 r,Npy2r,Npy5 r,Agrp,Mc3 r,Mc4r,Crh and CrMr,were significantly greater in Npy^(-/-) rats,whereas Pome and Crhr2 expressions were highest in Npy^(+/-) rats.These findings suggest that the NPY-system works in close coordination with the melanocortin(MC) and corticotropin-releasing hormone(CRH) systems to modulate alcohol intake and body weight. | Bin Qiu Richard L.Bell Yong Cao Lingling Zhang Robert B.Stewart Tamara Graves Lawrence Lumeng Weidong Yong Tiebing Liang | 2016 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2016,43,7: | 2 |

| 13 | The role of varied metal protrusions on the conductor surfaces in corona discharge subjected to DC high voltages显示文摘Conductor corona performance is significant in the evaluation of electromagnetic environment for high voltage power transmission lines. The influence of artificial contaminated conductors on corona discharge was studied and turned out to be complicated. The ionized field strength on the corona cage was measured by field mill. Meanwhile, photos of corona plumes were photographed and grayed to quantitate the corona discharge intensity. Subsequently, a calculation model for equivalent electric field strength coefficient was established to evaluate the discharge intensity of conductors in coaxial cylindrical electrode. It could be found the computational results achieved an agreement with the observed experimental phenomena. By means of simulation results, a reasonable explanation was given to the finding that the closer the distance between the two protrusions was, the lower the corona discharge intensity and higher corona inception voltage of the conductors would be. | 15 | Multifractal analysis of resting state fMRI series in default mode network: age and gender effects显示文摘Age-related changes of resting state in default mode network(DMN)may provide new clues to the developing mechanism of normal brain as well as early diagnosis and therapy of some neuropsychiatric disorders.The application of multifractal theory to functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)signals has recently raised increasing attention.We aim to explore the multifractal characteristics underlying the resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-fMRI)series extracted from DMN,and two issues are mainly discussed:(1)whether there exist multifractals in rs-fMRI series;(2)whether it is possible to distinguish between the different ages or genders by means of multifractal characteristics.Results demonstrated the existence of multifractals in rs-fMRI series in DMN.In addition,slight differences between young subjects and middle-aged or elderly subjects can be successfully detected by Dasa,a modified measure we proposed.Furthermore,it is revealed that the rs-fMRI series from young subjects possess smaller averaged scale index and weaker long range correlation,while those from middle-aged or elderly people present increasing averaged scale index andstronger long range correlation.Whereas no significant statistical differences has been found between male and female group.Our results,therefore,highlight the potential usefulness of multifractal analysis in fMRI series of a certain brain region,and provide important insights into healthy aging in DMN. | Huangjing Ni Xiaolin Huang Xinbao Ning Chengyu Huo Tiebing Liu De Ben | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,25: | 2 |
