| 1 | Resource use efficiency, ecological intensification and sustainability of intercropping systems显示文摘The rapidly growing demand for food, feed and fuel requires further improvements of land and water management, crop productivity and resource-use efficiencies.Combined field experimentation and crop growth modelling during the past five decades made a great leap forward in the understanding of factors that determine actual and potential yields of monocrops.The research field of production ecology developed concepts to integrate biological and biophysical processes with the aim to explore crop growth potential in contrasting environments.To understand the potential of more complex systems(multi-cropping and intercropping) we need an agro-ecosystem approach that integrates knowledge derived from various disciplines: agronomy, crop physiology, crop ecology, and environmental sciences(soil, water and climate).Adaptation of cropping systems to climate change and a better tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses by genetic improvement and by managing diverse cropping systems in a sustainable way will be of key importance in food security.To accelerate sustainable intensification of agricultural production, it is required to develop intercropping systems that are highly productive and stable under conditions with abiotic constraints(water, nutrients and weather).Strategies to achieve sustainable intensification include developing tools to evaluate crop growth potential under more extreme climatic conditions and introducing new crops and cropping systems that are more productive and robust under conditions with abiotic stress.This paper presents some examples of sustainable intensification management of intercropping systems that proved to be tolerant to extreme climate conditions. | MAO Li-li ZHANG Li-zhen ZHANG Si-ping Jochem B Evers Wopke van der Werf WANG Jing-jing SUN Hong-quan SU Zhi-cheng Huub Spiertz | 2015 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2015,14,8: | 5 |
| 2 | Incidence of kidney stones in kidney transplant recipients:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM To evaluate the incidence and characteristics of kidney stones in kidney transplant recipients. METHODS A literature search was performed using MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews from the inception of the databases through March 2016. Studies assessing the incidence of kidney stones in kidney transplant recipients were included. We applied a randomeffects model to estimate the incidence of kidney stones.RESULTS Twenty one studies with 64416 kidney transplant patients were included in the analyses to assess the incidence of kidney stones after kidney transplantation. The estimated incidence of kidney stones was 1.0%(95%CI: 0.6%-1.4%). The mean duration to diagnosis of kidney stones after kidney transplantation was 28 ± 22 mo. The mean age of patients with kidney stones was 42 ± 7 years. Within reported studies, approximately 50% of kidney transplant recipients with kidney stones were males. 67% of kidney stones were calcium-based stones(30% mixed CaO x/CaP, 27%CaO x and 10%CaP), followed by struvite stones(20%) and uric acid stones(13%).CONCLUSION The estimated incidence of kidney stones in patients after kidney transplantation is 1.0%. Although calcium based stones are the most common kidney stones aftertransplantation, struvite stones(also known as 'infection stones') are not uncommon in kidney transplant recipients. | 4 | Contrast-induced acute kidney injury in kidney transplant recipients: A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM To evaluate the incidence of contrast-induced acute kidney injury(CIAKI) in kidney transplant recipients. METHODS A literature search was performed using MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews from the inception of the databases through July 2016. Studies assessing the incidence of CIAKI in kidney transplant recipients were included. We applied a randomeffects model to estimate the incidence of CIAKI.RESULTS Six studies of 431 kidney transplant recipients were included in the analyses to assess the incidence of CIAKI in kidney transplant recipients. The estimated incidence of CIAKI and CIAKI-requiring dialysis were 9.6%(95%CI: 4.5%-16.3%) and 0.4%(95%CI: 0.0%-1.2%), respectively. A sensitivity analysis limited only to the studies that used low-osmolar or iso-osmolar contrast showed the estimated incidence of CIAKI was 8.0%(95%CI: 3.5%-14.2%). The estimated incidences of CIAKI in recipients who received contrast media with cardiac catheterization, other types of angiogram, and CT scan were 16.1%(95%CI: 6.6%-28.4%), 10.1%(95%CI: 4.2%-18.0%), and 6.1%(95%CI: 1.8%-12.4%), respectively. No graft losses were reported within 30 d post-contrast media administration. However, data on the effects of CIAKI on long-term graft function were limited.CONCLUSION The estimated incidence of CIAKI in kidney transplant recipients is 9.6%. | 6 | Synergy effects of Asperosaponin Ⅵ and bioactive factor BMP-2 on osteogenesis and anti-osteoclastogenesis显示文摘Osteoporosis is a reduction in skeletal mass due to the decrease of osteogenic ability and the activation of the osteoclastic function.Inhibiting bone resorption and accelerating the new bone formation is a promising strategy to repair the bone defect of osteoporosis.In this study,we first systematically investigated the roles of Chinese medicine Asperosaponin Ⅵ(ASP Ⅵ)on osteogenic mineralization of BMSCs and osteoclastogenesis of BMMs,and then explored the synergistic effect of ASP Ⅵ and BS(BMP-2 immobilized in 2-N,6-O-sulfated chitosan)on bone formation.The result showed that ASP Ⅵ with the concentration lower than 10^(-4) M contributed to the expression of osteogenic gene and inhibited osteoclastic genes RANKL of BMSCs.Simultaneously,ASP Ⅵ significantly reduced the differentiation of mononuclear osteoclasts in the process of osteoclast formation induced by M-CSF and RANKL.Furthermore,by stimulating the SMADs,TGF-β1,VEGFA,and OPG/RANKL signaling pathways,ASBS(ASP Ⅵ and BS)substantially enhanced osteogenesis,greatly promoted angiogenesis,and suppressed osteoclastogenesis.The findings provide a new perspective on osteoporosis care and prevention. | Fangping Chen Qing Liang Lijie Mao Yanrong Yin b Lixin Zhang Cuidi Li Changsheng Liu | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,4: | 2 |
