| 1 | Role of mi RNAs and their potential to be useful as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in gastric cancer显示文摘Alterations in epigenetic control of gene expression play an important role in many diseases, including gastric cancer. Many studies have identified a large number of upregulated oncogenic mi RNAs and downregulated tumour-suppressor mi RNAs in this type of cancer. In this review, we provide an overview of the role of mi RNAs, pointing to their potential to be useful as diagnostic and/or prognostic biomarkers in gastric cancer. | 2 | Embolization of splenorenal shunt associated to portal vein thrombosis and hepatic encephalopathy显示文摘Hepatic encephalopathy(HE)is a cognitive disturbance characterized by neuropsychiatric alterations.It occurs in acute and chronic hepatic disease and also in patients with portosystemic shunts.The presence of these portosystemic shunts allows the passage of nitrogenous substances from the intestines through systemic veins without liver depuration.Therefore,the embolization of these shunts has been performed tocontrol HE manifestations,but the presence of portal vein thrombosis is considered a contraindication.In this presentation we show a cirrhotic patient with severe HE and portal vein thrombosis who was submitted to embolization of a large portosystemic shunt.Case report:a 57 years-old cirrhotic patient who had been hospitalized many times for persistent HE and hepatic coma,even without precipitant factors.She had a wide portosystemic shunt and also portal vein thrombosis.The abdominal angiography confirmed the splenorenal shunt and showed other shunts.The larger shunt was embolized through placement of microcoils,and the patient had no recurrence of overt HE.There was a little increase of esophageal and gastric varices,but no endoscopic treatment was needed.Since portosystemic shunts are frequent causes of recurrent HE in cirrhotic patients,portal vein thrombosis should be considered a relative contraindication to perform a shunt embolization.However,in particular cases with many shunts and severe HE,we found that one of these shunts can be safely embolized and this procedure can be sufficient to obtain a good HE recovery.In conclusion,we reported a case of persistent HE due to a wide portosystemic shunt associated with portal vein thrombosis.As the patient had other shunts,she was successfully treated by embolization of the larger shunt. | Letícia de Campos Franzoni Fábio Cardoso de Carvalho Rafael Gomes de Almeida Garzon Fábio da Silva Yamashiro Laís Augusti Lívia Alves Amaral Santos Mariana de Souza Dorna Júlio Pinheiro Baima Talles Bazeia Lima Carlos Antonio Caramori Giovanni Faria Silva Fernando Gomes Romeiro | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，42： | 6 |

| 4 | Transcriptome analyses of the Dof-like gene family in grapevine reveal its involvement in berry, flower and seed development显示文摘The Dof(DNA-binding with one finger)protein family spans a group of plant transcription factors involved in the regulation of several functions,such as plant responses to stress,hormones and light,phytochrome signaling and seed germination.Here we describe the Dof-like gene family in grapevine(Vitis vinifera L.),which consists of 25 genes coding for Dof.An extensive in silico characterization of the VviDofL gene family was performed.Additionally,the expression of the entire gene family was assessed in 54 grapevine tissues and organs using an integrated approach with microarray(cv Corvina)and real-time PCR(cv Pinot Noir)analyses.The phylogenetic analysis comparing grapevine sequences with those of Arabidopsis,tomato,poplar and already described Dof genes in other species allowed us to identify several duplicated genes.The diversification of grapevine DofL genes during evolution likely resulted in a broader range of biological roles.Furthermore,distinct expression patterns were identified between samples analyzed,corroborating such hypothesis.Our expression results indicate that several VviDofL genes perform their functional roles mainly during flower,berry and seed development,highlighting their importance for grapevine growth and production.The identification of similar expression profiles between both approaches strongly suggests that these genes have important regulatory roles that are evolutionally conserved between grapevine cvs Corvina and Pinot Noir. | Danielle Costenaro da Silva Vítor da Silveira Falavigna Marianna Fasoli Vanessa Buffon Diogo Denardi Porto Georgios Joannis Pappas Jr Mario Pezzotti Giancarlo Pasquali Luís Fernando Revers | 2016 | Horticulture Research2016，3，1： | 5 |

| 6 | Starch Digestibility and Physicochemical and Cooking Properties of Irradiated Rice Grains显示文摘This study evaluated the starch digestibility, physicochemical properties and cooking characteristics of polished rice(varieties IRGA417 and IAC202) subjected to the doses of 0(as the control), 1, 2 and 5 k Gy of gamma radiation. The highest dose decreased the apparent amylose content, peak viscosity, water absorption and volume expansion. Irradiation increased the solid loss by 119% and 187% for IAC202 and IRGA417, respectively, when comparing the higher dose with the control. For IAC202, irradiation decreased the rapidly digestible starch and increased the slowly digestible starch(SDS) and resistant starch(RS). IRGA417 showed an elevation of SDS and a reduction in RS. | 7 | Fungal diversity notes 367-490:taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal taxa显示文摘This is a continuity of a series of taxonomic papers where materials are examined,described and novel combinations are proposed where necessary to improve our traditional species concepts and provide updates on their classification.In addition to extensive morphological descriptions and appropriate asexual and sexual connections,DNA sequence data are also analysed from concatenated datasets(rDNA,TEF-a,RBP2 and b-Tubulin)to infer phylogenetic relationships and substantiate systematic position of taxa within appropriate ranks.Wherever new species or combinations are being proposed,we apply an integrative approach(morphological and molecular data as well as ecological features wherever applicable).Notes on 125 fungal taxa are compiled in this paper,including eight new genera,101 new species,two new combinations,one neotype,four reference specimens,new host or distribution records for eight species and one alternative morphs.The new genera introduced in this paper are Alloarthopyrenia,Arundellina,Camarosporioides,Neomassaria,Neomassarina,Neotruncatella,Paracapsulospora and | 8 | Clinical prognostic factors for disabling Crohn's disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM: To identify demographic and clinical factors asso-ciated with disabling Crohn's disease (CD). METHODS: A systematic review and meta-analysisof observational studies, focusing on the factors that can predict the prognosis of different outcomes of CD was undertaken. PubMed, ISI Web of Knowledge and Scopus were searched to identify studies investigat-ing the above mentioned factors in adult patients with CD. Studies were eligible for inclusion if they describe prognostic factors in CD, with inclusion and exclusion criteria defined as follows. Studies with adult patients and CD, written in English and studying association between clinical factors and at least one prognosis out-come were included. Meta-analysis of effects was un-dertaken for the disabling disease outcome, using odds ratio (OR) to assess the effect of the different factors in the outcome. The statistical method used was Mantel-Haenszel for fixed effects. The 16-item quality assess-ment tool (QATSDD) was used to assess the quality of the studies (range: 0-42). RESULTS: Of the 913 papers initially selected, sixty studies were reviewed and three were included in the systematic review and meta-analysis. The global QA-TSDD scores of papers were 18, 21 and 22. Of a total of 1961 patients enrolled, 1332 (78%) were classified with disabling disease five years after diagnosis. In two studies, age at diagnosis was a factor associated with disabling disease five years after diagnosis. Individu-als under 40 years old had a higher risk of developing disabling disease. In two studies, patients who were treated with corticosteroids on the first flare developed disabling disease five years after diagnosis. Further, perianal disease was found to be relevant in all of the studies at two and five years after diagnosis. Finally, one study showed localization as a factor associated with disabling disease five years after diagnosis, with L3 being a higher risk factor. This meta-analysis showed a significantly higher risk of developing disabling dis-ease at five years after initial diagnosis among patients younger than 40 years of age (OR=2.47, 95%CI: 1.74-3.51), with initial steroid treatment for first flare (OR=2.42, 95%CI: 1.87-3.11) and with perianal dis-ease (OR = 2.00, 95%CI: 1.41-2.85).CONCLUSION: Age at diagnosis, perianal disease, ini-tial use of steroids and localization seem to be indepen-dent prognostic factors of disabling disease. | Cláudia Camila Dias Pedro Pereira Rodrigues Altamiro da Costa Pereira Fernando Magro | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013，19，24： | 2 |
| 9 | Characterization of goat whey proteins and their bioactivity and toxicity assay显示文摘Goat whey is an industry-discarded dairy by-product that has interesting nutritional value and a nutrient composition with important functional potential,where proteins have a high biological value and play an important role in the organism’s physiology.Therefore,the aim of this study was to identify,quantify,concentrate and investigate the capacity of goat whey proteins to perform different biological activities and to evaluate their acute toxicity.Concentrated proteins were quantified and identified by Bradford,Kjehdal and SDS-PAGE methods.Antibacterial activity was performed against Listeria monocytogenes,Salmonella spp.,Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli microorganisms and showed MIC ranging from 15 to 120μg mL-1,with the highest inhibition for L.monocytogenes growth.Antiproliferative activity was performed against human malignant melanoma cells and their proliferation inhibition was up to 66.8%within 72 h of exposure.The highest antioxidant capacity was obtained at concentration 2 mg that showed 29.69%of inhibition of DPPH radical oxidation.The acute toxicity test was performed using Artemia franciscana larvae in which whey proteins were able to preserve larval survival throughout exposure.Thus,we can conclude that goat’s whey has proteins that can play a positive effect on health,with antimicrobial activity and without toxicity.The present study highlights the great potential of goat’s whey to be developed as a safe biopreservative or as a functional ingredient in the food industry. | Maria Isabel Ferreira Campos Paula Perazzo de Souza Barbosa Laura Junqueira Camargo Luciano Da Silva Pinto Bianca Mataribu Catarina Serr˜ao Luis Fernando Marques-Santos Jos´e Hon´orio Lopes Julia Mariano Caju de Oliveira Carlos Alberto de Almeida Gadelha Tatiane Santi-Gadelha | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022，46，2： | 2 |
