4Anisotropic coding metamaterials and their powerful manipulation of differently polarized terahertz waves显示文摘Metamaterials based on effective media can be used to produce a number of unusual physical properties(for example,negative refraction and invisibility cloaking)because they can be tailored with effective medium parameters that do not occur in nature.Recently,the use of coding metamaterials has been suggested for the control of electromagnetic waves through the design of coding sequences using digital elements‘0’and‘1,'which possess opposite phase responses.Here we propose the concept of an anisotropic coding metamaterial in which the coding behaviors in different directions are dependent on the polarization status of the electromagnetic waves.We experimentally demonstrate an ultrathin and flexible polarization-controlled anisotropic coding metasurface that functions in the terahertz regime using specially designed coding elements.By encoding the elements with elaborately designed coding sequences(both 1-bit and 2-bit sequences),the x-and y-polarized waves can be anomalously reflected or independently diffused in three dimensions.The simulated far-field scattering patterns and near-field distributions are presented to illustrate the dual-functional performance of the encoded metasurface,and the results are consistent with the measured results.We further demonstrate the ability of the anisotropic coding metasurfaces to generate a beam splitter and realize simultaneous anomalous reflections and polarization conversions,thus providing powerful control of differently polarized electromagnetic waves.The proposed method enables versatile beam behaviors under orthogonal polarizations using a single metasurface and has the potential for use in the development of interesting terahertz devices.Shuo Liu Tie Jun Cui Quan Xu Di Bao Liangliang Du Xiang Wan Wen Xuan Tang Chunmei Ouyang Xiao Yang Zhou Hao Yuan Hui Feng Ma Wei Xiang Jiang Jiaguang Han Weili Zhang Qiang Cheng 2016Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1:36

7Characteristics of elemental carbon and organic carbon in PM_(10) during spring and autumn in Chongqing,China显示文摘PM10 (particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter less than 10 m) samples were collected simultaneously at nine urban sites and one urbanbackground site during two intensive observation campaigns in 2006. Concentrations of elemental carbon (EC) and organic carbon (OC) in PM10were analyzed using an element analyzer. The characteristics regarding spatial and seasonal distribution patterns of OC and EC concentrations andtheir contributions to PM10 mass, as well as correlation between OC and EC, were investigated in detail. The average OC and EC concentrationsfor urban sites were 57.5 ± 20.8 and 8.3 ± 3.9 g/m3, respectively, both being around three times higher than those for urban background site. As awhole, EC concentrations did not show distinct seasonal variations, though OC concentrations were generally higher in autumn than in spring. Forurban sites, total carbonaceous aerosol (TCA) accounted for 33.2% in spring and 35.0% in autumn of PM10 mass. The OC and EC concentrationswere found significantly correlated to each other both in spring and in autumn, implying the existence of similar emission sources such as coalcombustion. The OC/EC ratios generally exceeded 2.0, indicating the presence of secondary organic carbon (SOC), whose estimated concentrationfor urban Chongqing was 26.7 and 39.4 g/m3, accounting for 48.9 and 61.9% of the total OC observed in the samples, in spring and in autumn,respectively.Di Ye Qi Zhao Changtan Jiang Jun Chen Xiaoxing Meng 2007China Particuology2007,5,4:17

10Effects of annealing temperature on the microstructure and properties of the 25Mn-3Si-3Al TWIP steel显示文摘Microstructures and mechanical properties of the 25Mn twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steel at different annealing temperatures were investigated. The results indicated that when the annealing temperature was 1000°C,the 25Mn steel showed ex-cellent comprehensive mechanical properties,the tensile strength was about 640 MPa,the yield strength was higher than 255 MPa,and the elongation was above 82%. The microstructure was analyzed by optical microscopy (OM),X-ray diffraction (XRD),and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Before deformation the microstructure was composed of austenitic matrix and annealing twins at room temperature; at the same time,a significant amount of annealing twins and stacking faults were observed by TEM. 11The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 12Effects of potassium deficiency on photosynthesis and photoprotection mechanisms in soybean(Glycine max(L.)Merr.)显示文摘Potassium is an important nutrient element requiring high concentration for photosynthetic metabolism.The potassium deficiency in soil could inhibit soybean(Glycine max(L.) Merr.) photosynthesis and result in yield reduction.Research on the photosynthetic variations of the different tolerant soyben varieties should provide important information for high yield tolerant soybean breeding program.Two representative soybean varieties Tiefeng 40(tolerance to K^+ deficiency) and GD8521(sensitive to K^+ deficiency) were hydroponically grown to measure the photosynthesis,chlorophyll fluorescence parameters and Rubisco activity under different potassium conditions.With the K-deficiency stress time extending,the net photosynthetic rate(P_n),transpiration rate(T_r) and stomatal conductance(G_s) of GD8521 were significantly decreased under K-deficiency condition,whereas the intercellular CO_2 concentration(C_i) was significantly increased.As a contrast,the variations of Tiefeng 40 were almost little under K-deficiency condition,which indicated tolerance to K^+ deficiency variety could maintain higher efficient photosynthesis.On the 25 th d after treatment,the minimal fluorescence(F_0) of GD8521 was significantly increased and the maximal fluorescence(F_m),the maximum quantum efficiency of PSII photochemistry(F√F_m),actual photochemical efficiency of PSII(φ_(PSII)),photochemical quenching(q_p),and electron transport rate of PSII(ETR)were significantly decreased under K^+ deficiency condition.In addition,the Rubisco content of GD8521 was significantly decreased in leaves.It is particularly noteworthy that the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters and Rubisco content of Tiefeng 40 were unaffected under K^+ deficiency condition.On the other hand,the non-photochemical quenching(q_N) of Tiefeng 40 was significantly increased.The dry matter weight of Tiefeng 40 was little affected under K^+ deficiency condition.Results indicated that Tiefeng 40 could avoid or relieve the destruction of PSII caused by exceeded absorbed solar energy under K-deficiency condition and maintain natural photosynthesis and plant growth.It was an essential physiological mechanism for low-K-tolerant soybean under K-deficiency stress.WANG Xiao-guang ZHAO Xin-hua JIANG Chun-ji LI Chun-hong CONG Shan WU Di CHEN Yan-qiu YU Hai-qiu WANG Chun-yan 2015Journal of Integrative Agriculture2015,14,5:11
13Commissioning progress of the FAST显示文摘The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST) was completed with its main structure installed on September 25, 2016, after which it entered the commissioning phase. This paper aims to introduce the commissioning progress of the FAST over the past two years. To improve its operational reliability and ensure effective observation time, FAST has been equipped with a real-time information system for the active reflector system and hierarchical commissioning scheme for the feed support system, which ultimately achieves safe operation of the two systems. For meeting the high-performance indices, a highprecision measurement system was set up based on the effective control methods that were implemented for the active reflector system and feed support system. Since the commissioning of the FAST, a low-frequency ultra-wideband receiver and 19-beam1.05-1.45 GHz receiver have been mainly used. Telescope efficiency, pointing accuracy, and system noise temperature were completely tested and ultimately achieved the acceptance indices of the telescope. The FAST has been in the process of national acceptance preparations and has begun to search for pulsars. 14Hangzhou criteria as downstaging criteria in hepatocellular ca显示文摘Background:The downstaging of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has been confirmed to benefit liver transplantation(LT)patients whose tumors are beyond the transplantation criteria.Milan criteria(MC),a tumor size and number-based assessment,is currently used as the endpoint in these patients.However,many studies believe that tumor biological behavior should be added to the evaluation criteria for downstaging efficacy.Hence,this study aimed to explore the feasibility of Hangzhou criteria(HC),which introduced tumor grading and alpha-fetoprotein in addition to tumor size and number,as an endpoint of downstaging.Methods:We performed a multicenter and retrospective study of 206 patients accepted locoregional therapy(LRT)as downstaging/bridge treatment prior to LT in three centers of China.Results:Recipients were divided into four groups:failed downstaging to the HC(group A,n=46),successful downstaging to the HC(group B,n=30),remained within the HC all the time(group C,n=113),and tumor progressed(group D,n=17).The 3-year HCC recurrence probabilities of groups B and C were not significantly different(10.3%vs.11.6%,P=0.87).The HCC recurrent rate was significantly higher in group A(52.3%)compared with that in group B/C(P<0.05).Seven patients(7/76,9.2%)whose tumor exceeded the the HC were successfully downstaged to the MC,and 39.5%(30/76)to the the HC.In group B,23 patients remained beyond the MC and their survivals were as well as those of patients within the MC.Conclusions:Compared to the MC,HC downstaging criteria can give more HCC patients access to LT and furthermore,the outcome of these patients is the same as those matching MC downstaging criteria.Hangzhou downstaging criteria therefore is applicable in clinical practice.Qi-Fan Zhan Sun-Bin Ling Yi-Nan Deng Qiao-Nan Shan Qian-Wei Ye Sheng-Jun Xu Guang-Jiang Jiang Di Lu Xu-Yong Wei Li Zhuang Wu Zhang Tian Shen Bei-Ni Cen Hai-Yang Xie Ji-Min Liu Jian Wu Shu-Sen Zheng Yang Yang Xiao Xu 2020Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2020,19,4:11
15Targeting HMGB1 for the treatment of sepsis and sepsis-induced organ injury显示文摘High mobility group box 1(HMGB1)is a ubiquitous nuclear protein that is present in almost all cells and regulates the activity of innate immune responses in both intracellular and extracellular settings.Current evidence suggests that HMGB1 plays a pivotal role in human pathological and pathophysiological processes such as the inflammatory response,immune reactions,cell migration,aging,and cell death.Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS)that occurs in hosts in response to microbial infections with a proven or suspected infectious etiology and is the leading cause of death in intensive care units worldwide,particularly in the aging population.Dysregulated systemic inflammation is a classic characteristic of sepsis,and suppression of HMGB1 may ameliorate inflammation and improve patient outcomes.Here,we focus on the latest breakthroughs regarding the roles of HMGB1 in sepsis and sepsis-related organ injury,the ways by which HMGB1 are released,and the signaling pathways and therapeutics associated with HMGB1.This review highlights recent advances related to HMGB1:the regulation of HMBG1 might be helpful for both basic research and drug development for the treatment of sepsis and sepsis-related organ injury.Chao Deng Lin Zhao Zhi Yang Jia-jia Shang Chang-yu Wang Ming-zhi Shen Shuai Jiang Tian Li Wen-cheng Di Ying Chen He Li Ye-dong Cheng Yang Yang 2022Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2022,43,3:11

18Influence of isothermal bainitic processing on the mechanical properties and microstructure characterization of TRIP steel显示文摘The mechanical properties of transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steel are strongly affected by the conditions of iso-thermal bainitic processing. The multiphase microstructure of TRIP steel under different conditions of isothermal bainitic processing was investigated using OM,SEM,XRD and TEM. The volume fraction of retained austenite and the carbon content in austenite were determined quantitatively using X-ray diffraction patterns. The relationship between mechanical properties and isothermal bainitic processing parameters was investigated. The stability of retained austenite was analyzed by the volume fraction of retained austenite and the carbon content in retained austenite. The experimental results show that the multiphase microstructure consists of ferrite,bainite and metastable retained austenite.To obtain good mechanical properties,the optimal conditions of isothermal bainitic tem-perature and holding time are 410-430°C and 180-240 s,respectively. 19Biodegradation of phenol and m-cresol by mutated Candida tropicalis显示文摘The phenol and m-cresol biodegradations were studied using the mutant strain CTM 2 obtained by the He-Ne laser irradiation on wild-type Candida tropicalis.The results showed that C.tropicalis exhibited the increased capacity of phenolic compounds degradation after laser irradiation.It could degrade 2600 mg/L phenol and 300 mg/L m-cresol by 5% inoculum concentration,respectively.In the dual-substrate biodegradation system,0-500 mg/L phenol could accelerate m-cresol biodegradation,and 300 mg/L m-cresol could be completely utilized within 46 hr at the presence of 350 mg/L phenol.Besides,the maximum biodegradation of m-cresol could reach 350 mg/L with 80 mg/L phenol within 61 hr.Obviously,phenol,as a growth substrate,could promote CTM 2 to degrade m-cresol,and was always preferentially utilized as carbon source.Comparatively,low-concentration m-cresol could result in a great inhibition on phenol degradation.In addition,the kinetic behaviors of cell growth and substrate biodegradation were described by kinetic model proposed in our laboratory.Yan Jiang Xun Cai Di Wu Nanqi Ren 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,4:10
20Application of chemical fractionation and X-ray powder diffraction to study phosphorus speciation in sediments from Lake Hongfeng,China显示文摘Based on the techniques of sequential extraction and X-ray powder diffraction(XRD) ,the distribution characteristics of phosphorus speciation were investigated in 13 sediment samples from Lake Hongfeng,an important drinking water source for Guiyang with a typical karstic limestone environment.The total phosphorus(TP) concentrations in the sediments ranged from 973.36 to 2334.18 mg/kg with a mean concentration of 1635.87 mg/kg(dry weight) ,and it was evident that the phosphorus level in the sediments was high compared with other eutrophic lakes such as Lake Chaohu and Lake Xihu.The results of the two methods,sequential extraction and XRD,demonstrated the presence of different phosphorus species in the lake sediments.Being compatible with local geophysical characteristics,the results of sequential extraction techniques indicate that the average percentages of dissolved phosphorus(DP) ,aluminum-bound phosphorus(Al-P) ,iron-bound phosphorus(Fe-P) ,calcium-bound phosphorus(Ca-P) and organic phosphorus(OP) in the sediments were 0.40%,7.06%,5.07%,45.48%and 38.49%,respectively.Notably,the concentrations of inorganic phosphorus(IP) were higher than those of OP,and the IP consisted primarily of Ca-P.The high concentrations of Ca-P may temporarily control the release of phosphorus from the sediments because it is a relatively stable,inert and non-bioavailable phosphorus fraction.The results of XRD analysis indicated that,among phosphorus species,AlPO4 was found in all sediment samples at relatively high concentrations.Moreover,the TP concentrations in the sediments were high;thus the release potential and bioavailability of phosphorus in the sediments was important.Further statistical analyses of the results revealed significant correlations between phosphorus species in the sediments with two extractable principal components and four selectable cluster levels allowing interpretation of possible origins of phosphorus loading and transformation mechanisms of phosphorus species.Furthermore,available remediation measures were briefly assessed for the lake while considering its distinct environmental features.JIANG CuiHong WU Di HU JiWei LIU Feng HUANG XianFei LI CunXiong JIN Mei 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,20:9
