| 1 | FAIR Principles:Interpretations and Implementation Considerations显示文摘The FAIR principles have been widely cited, endorsed and adopted by a broad range of stakeholders since their publication in 2016.By intention, the 15 FAIR guiding principles do not dictate specific technological implementations, but provide guidance for improving Findability,Accessibility,Interoperability and Reusability of digital resources. This has likely contributed to the broad adoption of the FAIR principles, because individual stakeholder communities can implement their own FAIR solutions. However,it has also resulted in inconsistent interpretations that carry the risk of leading to incompatible implementations. Thus, while the FAIR principles are formulated on a high level and may be interpreted and implemented in different ways, for true interoperability we need to support convergence in implementation choices that are widely accessible and(re)-usable.We introduce the concept of FAIR implementation considerations to assist accelerated global participation and convergence towards accessible, robust, widespread and consistent FAIR implementations.Any self-identified stakeholder community may either choose to reuse solutions from existing implementations,or when they spot a gap, accept the challenge to create the needed solution, which, ideally, can be used again by other communities in the future. Here,we provide interpretations and implementation considerations(choices and challenges)for each FAIR principle. | Annika Jacobsen Ricardo de Miranda Azevedo Nick Juty Dominique Batista Simon Coles Ronald Cornet Melanie Courtot Merce Crosas Michel Dumontier Chris T.Evelo Carole Goble Giancarlo Guizzardi Karsten Kryger Hansen Ali Hasnain Kristina Hettne Jaap Heringa Rob W.W.Hooft Melanie Imming Keith G.Jeffery Rajaram Kaliyaperumal Martijn GKersloot Christine R.Kirkpatrick Tobias Kuhn Ignasi Labastida Barbara Magagna PeterMcQuilton Natalie Meyers Annalisa Montesanti Mirjam van Reisen Philippe Rocca-Serra Robert Pergl Susanna-Assunta Sansone Luiz Olavo Bonino da Silva Santos Juliane Schneider George Strawn Mark Thompson Andra Waagmeester Tobias Weigel Mark D.Wilkinson Egon L.Willighagen Peter Wittenburg Marco Roos Barend Mons Erik Schultes | 2020 | Data Intelligence2020,2,1: | 26 |
| 2 | Preservation of platelet function in patients with cirrhosis and thrombocytopenia undergoing esophageal variceal ligation显示文摘Background:Thrombocytopenia is a possible risk factor for bleeding after band ligation of esophageal varices. However, elevated von Willebrand factor(VWF)in cirrhosis improves platelet function and could decrease this risk. Our objective was to assess platelet function in patients with cirrhosis undergoing esophageal variceal ligation(EVL).Methods:The assessment consisted of platelet count, antigen and activity of VWF and VWF-cleaving protease ADAMTS-13 activity, and a platelet adhesion and aggregation test simulating vascular flow in vivo(Impact-RR)prior to EVL.Results:Totally 111 patients were divided into three groups according to platelet count:(1)<50×109/L(n=38,34.2%);(2)50×109/L to 100×109/L(n=47,42.3%);and(3)>100×109/L(n=26,23.4%).No statistically significant difference was found in the aggregate size of platelets[group 1:41.0(31.8–67.3)μm 2;group 2:47.0(33.8–71.3)μm 2;and group 3:47.0(34.0–66.0)μm 2;P=0.60]and no significant correlation was found between aggregate size and platelet count(Spearman r=0.07;P=0.47).Surface coverage was 4.1%(2.8%–6.7%),8.5%(4.0%–10.0%),and 9.0%(7.1%–12.0%)(P<0.001)in groups 1,2 and 3,respectively and correlated with platelet count(Spearman r=0.39;P<0.0001).There was no significant difference between groups in VWF or ADAMTS-13.Post-EVL bleeding occurred in six(5.4%)patients(n=2 in group 1,n=1 in group 2,and n=3 in group 3;P=0.32).Patients with bleeding had higher MELD scores[15.0(11.3–20.3)versus 12.0(10.0–15.0);P=0.025],but no difference was demonstrated for platelet function parameters. Conclusion:Platelet function is preserved even in the presence of thrombocytopenia, including in the patients with post-EVL bleeding. | Evandro de Oliveira Souza Elbio Antonio D’Amico Tania Rubia Flores da Rocha Caroline Marcondes Ferreira Juliana Medeiros Batista Luiz Augusto CarneiroD’Albuquerque Flair Jose Carrilho Alberto Queiroz Farias | 2020 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2020,19,6: | 3 |
| 3 | Therapeutic and biological activities of Calotropis procera(Ait.) R.Br.显示文摘Medicinal plants have been used to treat various ailments of the poor population around the world;hence the interest among researchers to know the active ingredients of certain plants has being increased. The Calotropis procera(C.procera) is a plant original from Africa, commonly found in northeastern Brazil. It is well known for their pharmacological properties, since it produces large amounts of latex. The important role that medicinal plants play in folk medicine has led us to develop this article in order to review the major pharmacological activities of C. procera. | Marcia Calheiros Chaves Silva Antonio Batista da Silva Fabiano Moura Teixeira Paulo Cesar Pereira de Sousa Regina Maria Macedo Rondon Jose Eduardo Ribeiro Honorio Junior Luiz Rafael Leite Sampaio Samanda Lima Oliveira Angela Nadyla Martins Holonda Silvania Maria Mendes de Vasconcelos | 2010 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2010,3,4: | 2 |

| 7 | The role of rhizobacteria in rice plants: Growth and mitigation of toxicity显示文摘Allelopathic compounds reduce the growth and productivity of upland rice plants, especially in consecutive plantations. The rhizobacteria Pseudomonas fluorescens BRM-32111 and Burkholderia pyrrocinia BRM-32113 have been recorded as growth promoters in rice. This study was developed to understand the effect of the application of rhizobacteria on upland rice plants in consecutive plantations. Experiments were conducted in a completely randomized design with four replications of four treatments: rice seed inoculated with P. fluorescens BRM-32111, rice seed inoculated with B. pyrrocinia BRM-32113(both sown on soil with rice residue), non-inoculated plants sown on soil with rice residue(control with residue(WR)), and non-inoculated plants on soil with no residue(NR). Roots and seedling growth were adversely affected by allelopathic compounds in control WR plants. Plants inoculated with rhizobacteria P. fluorescens BRM-32111 or B. pyrrocinia BRM-32113 induced an increase of 88% in biomass, 3% in the leaf area, 40% in length, 67% in root biomass, 21% in chlorophyll a, 53% in chlorophyll(a+b), 50% in rate of carbon assimilation(A), 227% in A/rubisco carboxylation efficiency(C_i) and 63% in water use efficiency(WUE) compared to control WR plants. These results indicate that rhizobacteria P. fluorescens BRM-32111 and B. pyrrocinia BRM-32113 increase the tolerance of rice plants to stress from allelochemicals. There are possible practical agricultural applications of these results for mitigating the effects of environmental allelochemistry on upland rice. | Marcela C F Rêgo Aline F Cardoso Thayná da C Ferreira Marta C C de Filippi Telma F V Batista Rafael G Viana Gisele B da Silva | 2018 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2018,17,12: | 1 |
