1Optimal beamforming for arbitrary arrays using second-order cone programming显示文摘Two optimal beamforming approaches for sensor arrays with arbitrary shapes and element directivities are proposed. The first one minimizes the sidelobe level while keeping the distortionless response in the direction of the desired signal and maintaining the mainlobe width. The second approach maximizes the array gain while keeping the mainlobe direction and controling the sidelobe level which is strictly guaranteed to be below a prescribed value. Array weight norm constraint is used to improve the robustness of the two optimal beamforming approaches against random errors. The first approach provides the optimal tradeoff among the sidelobe level, the beamwidth and robustness; and the second approach provides the optimal tradeoff among the array gain, the sidelobe level and robustness. Both optimal beamforming problems are formulated as the second-order cone programming which can be easily solved using well-developed interior-point methods. Results of computer simulations and lake-experiment for a circular array demonstrate superior performance of the approaches proposed in this paper in comparison to some existing adaptive-based algorithms.YANShefeng MAYuanliang SUNChao 2005Chinese Journal of Acoustics2005,24,1:24
2Inversion for the sea bottom acoustic parameters by using the group time delays and amplitude of normal mode显示文摘The group time delays and amplitudes of the normal mode are derived using the normal mode filter. The sea bottom sound speed, density and attenuation are inversely deduced by matching the group time delays and the amplitude of the normal mode. A genetic algorithm (GA) is used for optimization search in the parameter space. The inverted attenuation has the nonlinear frequency relationship a = 0.29f1.91 dB/m (the unit of frequency is kHz) in the frequency range 200 - 500 Hz. 3Frequency invariant beamforming via optimal array pattern synthesis and FIR filters design显示文摘An approach to designing time domain broadband frequency invariant beamformer via optimal array pattern synthesis and optimal FIR filters design is proposed. First, the working frequency band is decomposed into a number of narrow band frequency bins. The array weights at each frequency bin are designed via optimal array pattern synthesis methods to insure that the synthesized pattern approximates the desired one within the mainlobe area.Then, a bank of FIR filters corresponding to the input channels are designed to provide the frequency responses that approximate the array weights in the working frequency band for each sensor. Finally, each sensor feeds a FIR filter and the filter outputs are summed to produce the beam output time series. Both array pattern synthesis and FIR filters design problems are formulated as the second-order cone programming (SOCP), which can be easily solved using well-developed interior-point methods. 4Laboratory simulation on acoustic well-logging with phased array transmitter显示文摘Two small scale acoustic phased arrays with 4 elements have been designed and assembled in the laboratory. Experiments have been carried out with them. It is found that both directivity and radiation lobe width of the phased array can be regulated by changing the time delay between the input signals on neighboring elements. Results measured are in good agreement with those calculated. By using the phased array as an acoustic transmitter and hydrophone as a receiver, small scale acoustic well-logging simulations have been carried out both on an aluminum model well and on a concrete one. Experimental results show that, by increasing the time delay of the input signals on neighboring elements, the steered radiation angle of the phased array becomes larger and larger, and generation conditions of the refracted compressional wave and the refracted shear wave are reached successively, and the refracted compressional wave, the refracted shear wave and the Stoneley wave axe strengthened, respectively. 6On the certain semi-analytical models of low-frequency acoustic fields in terms of scalar-vector description显示文摘Behaviour of scalar and vector characteristics of steady-state acoustical field is modeled based on analytical-numerical approach. This field is radiated by low-frequency monochromatic point-like source in the deterministic layered shallow sea, which has various hydrologic and bottom conditions. Approach being developed is free of any mathematical approximations and without the difficulties it enables to calculate sound field vector characteristics for various models of shallow sea. Owing to this fact the complete description of underwater acoustical situation is possible that is useful to make a prognosis for the experiment. 7The concise fractional Fourier transform and its application in detection and parameter estimation of the linear frequency-modulated signal显示文摘A concise fractional Fourier transform(CFRFT) is proposed to detect the linear frequency-modulated(LFM) signal with low signal to noise ratio(SNR).The frequency axis in time-frequency plane of the CFRFT is rotated to get the spectrum of the signal in different angles using chirp multiplication and Fourier transform(FT).For LFM signal which distributes as a straight line in time-frequency plane,the CFRFT can gather the energy in the corresponding angle as a peak and improve the detection SNR,thus the LFM signal of low SNR can be detected.Meanwhile,the location of the peak value relates to the parameters of the LFM signal.Numerical simulations and experimental results show that,the proposed method can be used to efficiently detect the LFM signal masked by noise and to estimate the signal's parameters accurately.Compared with the conventional fractional Fourier transform(FRFT),the CFRFT reduces the transform complexity and improves the real-time detection performance of LFM signal.CHEN Yanli GUO Lianghao GONG Zaixiao 2017Chinese Journal of Acoustics2017,36,1:13
8Passive source range estimation with a single receiver in shallow water显示文摘An approach for long-range passive impulsive source ranging with a single receiver in shallow water is proposed,which utilizes the frequency spectrum of the warped signal autocorrelation function via warping transform.For an ideal waveguide,there are invariable frequency features both in the frequency spectrum of the warped signal corresponding to modal cut-off frequencies and the warped signal autocorrelation function due to modal interference.These intrinsic frequency features can be used to passive source ranging.So,the approximate relationship between the frequency of warped signal at an unknown source range and the intrinsic frequency extracted by the time warping transform is derived.These rules can be generalized to an actual shallow water waveguide.Employing an acoustic model to offer the invariable frequency spectrum features,the impulsive signal data collected by a single hydrophone in the North Yellow Sea in December 2011 are analyzed to verify the proposed source ranging approach.The estimated ranges are in good agreement with the ranges measured by GPS,and the mean relative error of range estimation is less than 10%.QI Yubo ZHOU Shihong REN Yun WANG Dejun LIU Jianjun FENG Xiqiang 2015Chinese Journal of Acoustics2015,34,1:13

11A high precision calibration method for long baseline acoustic positioning systems显示文摘To solve the problem that traditional long baseline(LBL) positioning system is easily affected by severe sound speed varying results in low calibration precision, low efficiency and inconsistent position using different references, we propose a high precision array calibration method. We use distances between beacons to build error adjustment model. This model improves the calibration performance of traditional calibration method. The theory shows this method can achieve equal calibration precision with distance measurement precision in horizon. This method can improve the calibration efficiency, solve position ambiguity and achieve high precision especially in deep ocean. The shallow water experiment shows this method has millimeter calibration precision which is equal to distance measurement error. The calibration precision improves from centimeter to millimeter compared to traditional calibration method.The method also decreases the operation complexity. 13Direction of arrival estimation and signal recovery based on single snapshot compressed sensing in frequency domain显示文摘Direction of arrival(DOA) estimation and signal recovery is the base of the underwater target localization,tracking and recognition.Based on the compressed sensing theory,a method for DOA estimation and source signal recovery is proposed using the single snapshot processing of the received array signal in frequency domain.The received array signal are transformed to frequency domain,and the single snapshot data in frequency domain are regarded as the measured data of the compressed sensing.According to the frequency,searching orientation and array manifold,the overcomplete array manifold is constructed as the sensing matrix of the compressed sensing.Both the target signal and power of the searching orientation are estimated by the basis pursuit method to complete DOA estimation and signal recovery.Simulation results show that the proposed method has a number of advantages over the minimum variance distortionless response(MVDR) method,including improved robustness to noise,fewer requirement in number of sensors and snapshots.And the correlation coefficient of the signal reaches up to 0.89.Experiment results in real environments verify that the proposed method performs more effectively in the detection of weak targets than the MVDR method and can be applied to real sonar system.KANG Chunyu LI Qianyan ZHANG Xinhua LI Jun 2016Chinese Journal of Acoustics2016,35,2:10
14Principle and simulation of coherent interference suppression by a three-sensor array显示文摘The Principles of coherent interference suppression are presented by a three-sensor array. The formulae of extracting expected signals from strong interference are derived. The selection of sensor space is discussed and then relationships between the space and frequency point, at which the signals can be extracted, are given. When expected signals are band- limit, the conditions of the selected sensor space, which should be satisfied, are given. Lastly, Performance of interference suppression is analyzed when the amplitude of interference power spectra of signals Received by three sensors fluctuates, and the expressions of relative error of the extracted signals and processing gain are derived. 15Active control of radiated sound using nearfield pressure sensing显示文摘Based on nearfield sound pressure sensing to pick up error information, an approach for constructing active acoustic structure to effectively reduce radiated sound power at low frequency is proposed. The idea is that a nearfield pressure after active control is used as error signals and transformed into an objective function in adaptive active control process.Firstly sound power expression using near-field pressure radiated from a flexible structure is derived, and then three kind of nearfield pressure based active control strategies,i.e.minimization of radiated sound power, minimization of sound power for dominant radiation modes and minimization of sound power for modified dominant radiation modes are respectively presented and applied to active control of radiated single and broadband noise. 17Beamforming for broadband constant beamwidth based on FIR and DSP显示文摘A method to design a beamformer for broadband constant beamwidth is presented. Constant beamwidth is important in sonar systems for sea bottom observation and classification applications. For a given frequency band, a number of frequency points are chosen to represent the response of an arrary element. For each frequency point a beamforming weight vector can be deduced to satisfy the given beamwidth requirement by existing methods. Therefore, for a broadband array of N elements, each row of the N’ M weighting matrix represents the frequency response of an element of the array which can be satisfied by a FIR filter designed by model - reference adaptive technique. 19Traveling wave tube measurements for low-frequency properties of underwater acoustic materials显示文摘A traveling wave tube measurement technique for measuring acoustic properties of underwater acoustic materials was developed.Water temperature and pressure environments of the ocean can be simulated in a water-filled tube,and the acoustic parameters of samples of underwater acoustic materials are measured in the range of low-frequency.A tested sample is located at central position of the tube.A pair of projectors is separately located at both ends of the tube.Using an active anechoic technique,the sound wave transmitting the tested sample is hardly reflected by the surface of secondary transducer.So the traveling sound field is built up in the tube.By separately calculating the transfer functions of every pair of double hydrophones in the sound fields from the both sides of the sample,its reflection coefficients and transmission coefficients are obtained.In the measurement system,the inside diameter of the tube isΦ208 mm,the working frequency range is from 100 to 4000 Hz,the maximum pressure is 5 MPa.The reflection coefficients and transmission coefficients of a water layer and a stainless steel layer samples are measured actually and calculated theoretically.The results show that the measured values are in good agreement with the values calculated,and the measurement uncertainty is not greater than 1.5 dB.LI Shui LUO Maqi FAN Jinliang SHEN Jianxing 2007Chinese Journal of Acoustics2007,26,4:9
20A prediction of the acoustic field of a vibrating box by FEM-BEM显示文摘A method based on Holmholtz equation is presented to predict thc acoustic radiation of a vibrating box by combining the finite clement method (FEM) with boundary element method (BEM). The prediction formulation is valid for all frequencies if an extra equation is added. The acoustic field of a vibrating box has been calculated and measured.
